7.5out of 8billion people will die if the world collapses. Because we will all be broke, no other greater power to save another, just a lost economy, and a losing battle against gravity.
could simply be out of reach to get which seems more and more likely that this is developing to be true as we search but find very little.
When peak oil happens, we will go back to 600AD as their will be no running economys, and almost 8billion people to save themselves. Its not like they ever can.
Although not intentionally a scare campaign, peak oil has ultimately turned into this. There are numerous new energy sources, including both algae, bacteria, and bugs which produce oil and diesel. Oil IS NOT running out. In addition, we have more in reserves than has ever been consumed... SO we ARE NOT running out of oil. But what about global warming? This is true. What about the cost of new energy infrastructure? This is also true.
@vintagegeisha Oil doesn't need to run out, it either needs to become too difficult to extract or too expensive to extract. Production from oil wells decline because the cheap and easy stuff is used up and the hard and expensive oil is left over. Humanity has a tendency to chose the easier or cheaper options first and then be stuck with the difficulties after its grown fat.
I would suggest searching EROEI, a field which is too inefficient becomes irrelevant to businesses.
In early 2000s we had 14massive oil fields. No we have about 1 large oil fields (oil reserves) + possible additional oil fields on the northpole and who knows elsewhere.
All 14great oil fields mostly still exist, but theyre not classified as great as theyre getting exempted.
Peak oil has nothing to do with the oil reserve. It means that mankind cant dig deep enough, or simply find extra oil fields for further oil drilling. So half of all the oil storages planet earth may host
Technology isn't a source of energy, just a faster more efficient way to use it up. The more efficient a society is, the more energy it ultimately uses. It's Jevons paradox...
@MrEnergyCzar The more efficient a society is, the more energy it ultimately uses ? This sounds like the opposite of efficiency to me. Efficiency means doing the same amount of work with less energy.
@claudelebel55 Thats Energy Effcientcy. He means in the sense that we get to work on time, that everything continues to grow and expand to become more efficient, EG we use cars to get places quicker etc, but I can see how the wording of that comment would make you say that, i did initially as well...
Most importantly, there are NO viable alternatives to hydrocarbon energy today. Perhaps human ingenuity could develop somethingsomeday, but we have passed the point where a world of hurt isn't ahead. Science is cold hard fact. I know it seems harsh but it is our reality. We all need to conserve now but that still doesn't answer the problems that are in the next 40 years or so. It will affect the whole planet without fail. Pity the human race at this point for what must come.
Let's see, that pesky law of thermodynamics, and we are aware of science and math. Put simple science and math to work. You find that: approx 5 billion people must die due to lack of food. Food is grown with energy. Without fossil fuel bolstering our farming the earth will not support more than perhaps1.5-2 billion people. Energy=life. Less energy will mean less life. If we don't develop an alternative that works it must be our future.
@SSgtParmer ...is 20 years enough lead time to replace current technologies with sustainable technologies? Whats the net energy return for unconventional oil from tar sands? Do you think it's possible to continue growing exponentially for infinity? These are just questions, I'm not cross examining you so don't sweat:)
@activedentalfloss Interesting. I was just curious about you're views, as the whole peak oil/ limits to growth topic throws up some vastly polorised opinions. I don't really have such a rosy view of the next 10 years and beyond, foreign policies and economic happenings appear to correlate with the forecasts, but I'm not going into a point by point rebuttal of your beliefs as that won't mean anything. All I'll say is good luck, and keep flossing. You'll regret it if you don't.
@SSgtParmer I admire the optimist. Just a few questions though, not the spanish inquisition: What will power the desalinization plants? What geo engineering technology exists which can manipulate the global temps? Is there the political will to implement it when there are nations which act unilateraly? Is there a better substitute for oil (wood-coal-oil, there's a gradual increase in energy content there). Is there a viableway of harnessing a reasonable percentage of the suns energy.......cont..
That one's grandchildren won't get to ride in an aluminum tube in the sky is insignificant when compared to the billions of deaths that will result from famine and disease once oil runs out. The oil age for humanity is over. Now comes the decline, unless we find a new source of high density energy, which seems highly unlikely. No, chances are it's downhill for humanity from here. Back to small towns and farms and life centered around food production. Life will be hard.
bla bla more peak oil lies. to drive up the price for the billionaires who still think they don't have enough money. The only thing that is in greater supply then oil is their greed. Oil is in greater supply today then it was twenty years ago and that is just the reserves. The will to actually go get it is strangely absent.
@nnormore18 i suggest you to read the 2010 IEA outlook and try to find CIA documents about energy and oil, they know very well the trua about the peak....and they know very well what will happen in a short time
we dont need cars and airplanes. we can walk or drive bicycles or use on-line connections (much cheaper than driving round with tons of plastic and steel to carry 150 ounds of human meat. Where is the point in migrating around anyway?

Oh yes, I read somewhere it said we are not running out of oil we just can't produce fater than we use. What a perfect little manipulation! its kind of man made type of shortage. Oil Factor, Crude Awakening, and other crap I read them and they are nothing but a bunch bull. Don't trust anything I mean that you read. It is all a big lie. Just do the opposite of what they say we'll be OK.
don't be so ignorant how else are you going to learn anything if you don't study, and as far as us being alright the UNITED STATES is on the brink of the next GREAT DEPPRESSION, your fat ass better start worrying.
First, I'm not being ignorant I'm being intelligent. I don't just believe whatever people say, I did my research I used my own common sense and came to my own conclusion. If you don't know that our economy is a big manipulation, you're the ignorant one. Great Depression is coming, perfect, hopefully it'll wipe out some of the dumb ones.
if you used your common senses then your common senses should have told you that for all intents and purposes we are trapped on a giant rock that we call the earth sailing through space there is no way in hell that we can continue to consume the natural resources at the rate we currently do and expect to survive.
Ok, that is correct my common senses tell me that we should not consume at this rate. My common senses also tell me that oil will last for a long time and when we are running out of it we'll switch to alternative energy. To run around screaming that we're out of gas only helping oil companies profiting from the fear. People like you help make the "bubble". Oh we run out of homes-bubble, oh we run out of food-bubble- oh we out of oil-bubble. Next, we'll be out of water.
first of all i am not running around telling anybody anything like that what I'm doing is encouraging people to study and research this issue like i did get the FACTS, not the HYPE and once you understand the NATURAL and SCIENTIFIC "FACTS" about the issue of PEAK OIL and what it means to our lives you will be able to make informed decisions on how to prepare yourself for the RELENTLESS REMORSELESS decline of LIGHT SWEET CRUDE.
If U're not, then stop screaming about peak oil. If U insist on it then U must also talk about peak everything because everything in this world will peak eventually: Water, land, foods, shelters, transportation, healthcare etc... Our population growth will cause everything to peak, so should stop using everything n find the alt. sources right now or should we use them until they're almost gone n find other ways? Don't hasten the problem n give them the excuse to raise our gas prices prematurely.
you keep talking , about them and us and how they are going to raise the of oil, they don't need to use PEAK OIL as an excuse to raise oil prices,if you think about its not in the oil companies interest to raise prices , because as the price goes up demand goes down its called DEMAND DESTUCTION.
I understand the peak oil and demand destruction concept but it just doesn't make any sense when oil went up exponentially and then free fell almost to nothing within a few month is just rediculous. There are some elements of truth to peak oil because everything will peak but to just focus on oil peak and not mention anything about oil manipulation is just too naive. I'm sorry I can't accept that.
listen I'm not trying to get you to except anything, I'm just expressing my point of view , as far as the price of oil being manipulated of course it is that goes without saying the Saudis do that every day when the either add more oil to the market , or , take oil off the market, the main reason for the large drop in the price of oil is the world financial crisis which is also an elitist scam.
I SAID that there are many subsitutes for or,but there is nothing that can replace the huge and growing quanties that we use thats the issue QUALITY and QUANITY.
this is something you might ,or, might not know there are speculators who are buying Huge amounts of oil and holding it in tankers just waiting for the day when the price of oil goes throw the roof again and of course when it does they are going to make a killing.here's the thing it's obvious by your comments that you have no idea how important OIL is to our lives, and although there my be many substitutes there is "NOTHING" that can replace it.
Yes, speculators keep the supply artificially low that is why the price went up last summer, why did you say it was oil peak production instead of oil speculation. I'm looking for the truth and I can't find it because everybody is so one sided.
moniequa, I will tell you what I think I know about Peak Oil. There is rumor that a huge gas and oil field has been discovered at Gull Island in Alaska. Some say that this oil is in shell and is of low grade. The word, though, when it was discovered in 1975 it was ok grade, but would meet the projected demands by the U.S. for the next 200 years. Take this discovery outside the equation, then the world will face the horrors of Peak Oil. That is supply will not meet demand.
In 1970 they found of wells in Southeast Asia, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand. Now they are pumping it. There is oil everywhere. I will beleive peak oil concept when oil is more expensive then vegetable oil.
Hemp for victory !!! 10% of food crop space would power america through hemp oil? why are we allowing our country to slowly degrade into a third world level? And now L.E.A.P. is questioning our methods against the drug concept... I truly want to understand so i can feel like patriot.
Hey, before you guys dismiss peak oil and even give reasons, make sure you do some research.
For example,
a1mint: do you notice that it takes about 1 barrel of oil to extract 30 barrels of oil, but if you try extracting non-conventional oil such as the tar sands of Canada, it takes 1 barrel of oil to extract around 1.5 barrels of oil (not to mention that it takes >15 years to get subpar production there).
That's why exclamations of Canadian Oil Sands just emphasizes the upcoming desperation.
Albert has enough oil to supply the US for over a 100 years. There is also more oil to be found in Africa and other parts of the world. Oil will stay for quite a while longer.
I'm not buying this peak oil shit for a split second.
they will be using oil, oil is forever, I work for 1 of the major oil co.'s I shouldn't even be telling you all this, so I can't name my co. but oil is NOT a fossil fuel, thats all I can say
Are you referring to the abiogenic hypothesis forwarded by, for example, Thomas Gold? My understanding was that no substantial oil company was exploring for oil with that viewpoint in mind, but I would be very interested to hear something to the contrary!
Anyway, correct me if I'm wrong, but there are at least 2 trillion unconventional (but likely recoverable) barrels of oil in the US, so there's no need to worry yet.
Not as though this is constitutes any sort of proof of my opinion, but back in the days of ENIAC 60 years ago, few would ever imaging that a machine with millions of times more memory, disk space, and faster processor would fit inside of your pocket and cost less than a days' wages.
Anyway, the energy is out there (the Sun); all we have to do is some engineering to get a cheaper way of collecting it.
The Earth has close to 200 petawatts worth of renewable energy available to it and total human energy consumption is around 20 terawatts annually. This is 1/10,000 the amount of available renewable energy Earth has. It is strange to think that we are headed towards an energy crisis when these figures are taken into account. We simply aren't intelligent enough as a species (yet) to figure out how to tap into Earth's vast renewable energy resources.
if the price of oil is going up instead finding some diffent. why dont we make factory to make monney instead and give out $100 notes to everyone, they we would have unlimted sorce of oil because even if the price goes everyone would have enough monney to buy it. even if its like million dollors are liter. i don't understand why people ant doing this now
yeah they tried that before in germany... it's a really bad idea trust me, money becomes worthless if everyone has it.. It lead to the worst depression in european history...
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
spray homie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!u fuckin fuckheads go suck a dik.Pilots wll figure somethng out. They are probably the smartest people in the world.
US has so much waste of oil. This makes me think that we can keep our life style without giving up on too many things. Actually, I think we will just drive a smaller car. Erope is already energy efficient and for them, to get better, is going to be much harder.
When environmentalist like myself said we were living "unsustainably" that means out quality of life would come to an end sonner or later, now you all know what we meant. It looks like is too late to change things, forget people landing on mars our civilization is heading for total chos build an AWOL bag and pray.
But there are already very serious plans to sell 2012 a car which can drive 20,000 km with 10m^2 photovoltaic, installed not in a ever sun-shine country, but in rainy Germany.
Assuming you're incredibly optimistic hope comes true, by 2012 we'll be in the thick of this problem. Are we going to replace cars on an incomprehensibly vast scale with solar powered cars at a time when the very roads, literally made of oil themselves, are unmaintainable?
Revolution is only 9 missed meals away. It doesn't matter if 2012 will bring new technolgy to save our wasteful ways if we have a starving population in 2011. Mobs don't have too much forsight when they are hungry; they won't want solutions next year they'll want a solution right now.
Gallium, which is one of the metals that is used in solar panel production will be exhausted around 2020, at *current rates*. Now imagine how fast it will run out when the whole world tries to switch to solar power.
And what do you think the cost of 3 billion such cars would be, we do not have enough energy to build the cars. They might keep millionaires on the road but thats about it. Unless we can find a way of providing energy for India and China to catch up with us then they will not continue to do all of our work for us.
True. Peak Oil describes the life cycle of oil fields but the principle can also apply to any non-renewable natural resource. Eventually we will see Peak Coal, Peak Natural Gas, Peak Copper, etc...
Richard Heinberg addresses this topic in his new book; 'Peak Everything'
Thats why we need to get in to commodities. Invest in that and the future may have a chance of being better for you. But just do enough for you and your family because if you have too much you may get some unwanted attention in a desperate world.
Did you know Henry Ford's produced a couple of thousand electric cars for women drivers at the time he produced the model T Ford? Electric car technology is as old as the car. The oil companies don't want you to know. The new all electric Tesla Roadster can outpace a Porsche. Electric cars should be the only cars sold today. Save the oil for the next few centuries' airplanes!
See the doco "Who Killed The Electric Car?". Big Oil was one of the main culprits. It stinks! Oilmen and women in the White House in Cheney and Bush and Condi. Giving 100% tax exemptions for huge gas guzzlers whilst squashing electric vehicles. History will curse these leaders and a generation who burnt oil in outrageously oversized SUVs.
The NWO illuminati keep free energy from the masses to keep us enslaved to oil
youtube) Nikola Tesla free energy, or water car
The illuminati bankers started communism,ww1,ww2,the french revolution, they keep some countrys poor and flood others with mass immigration, divide and rule is how they work
Its really a shame......buy Gold, And if you want to make alot of money...buy silver! The dollar will be wiped out because of our fiat debt based currency backed by oil. Petro dollar system is coming to an end. Now is time to buy oil, gold, silver, wheat, and corn
well when u take a look at all the predictions of when peak oil will occur it appears that we're either at, or very close to hitting the peak. demand will keep rising but supply will drop off causing a huge spike in costs and then all goods that go through transportation will b more expensive, including air travel. We need to start solving this problem now because the longer we wait, the worse it will be.
Because drag goes up with the square of the velocity, air travel at speeds of near the speed of sound will no longer be economically feasible. However, I think we'll be seeing slower air travel with hightly efficient turbo-props and travel by train for the masses.
unfortunately 4 us in north america, we dont have a very well established or popular train or bus system. we rely so much on air and truck shipping & personal vehicles here that the transition 2 our new lifestyles in the wake of peak oil will b very difficult and will likely result in a large recession until we kick the oil dependency
oh my gosh matt! Your voice is so much deeper than I imagined! Nice. Looking forward to more clips! lol Keep up the good works! By the way, I might be buying one of those solar ovens off of you soon.

If you don't know that our economy is a big manipulation, you're the ignorant one. Great Depression is coming, perfect, hopefully it'll wipe out some of the dumb ones.
moniequa 3 years ago
if you used your common senses then your common senses should have told you that for all intents and purposes we are trapped on a giant rock that we call the earth sailing through space there is no way in hell that we can continue to consume the natural resources at the rate we currently do and expect to survive.
OUTOFGAS88 3 years ago
Ok, that is correct my common senses tell me that we should not consume at this rate. My common senses also tell me that oil will last for a long time and when we are running out of it we'll switch to alternative energy. To run around screaming that we're out of gas only helping oil companies profiting from the fear. People like you help make the "bubble". Oh we run out of homes-bubble, oh we run out of food-bubble- oh we out of oil-bubble. Next, we'll be out of water.
moniequa 3 years ago
first of all i am not running around telling anybody anything like that what I'm doing is encouraging people to study and research this issue like i did get the FACTS, not the HYPE and once you understand the NATURAL and SCIENTIFIC "FACTS" about the issue of PEAK OIL and what it means to our lives you will be able to make informed decisions on how to prepare yourself for the RELENTLESS REMORSELESS decline of LIGHT SWEET CRUDE.
OUTOFGAS88 3 years ago
If U're not, then stop screaming about peak oil. If U insist on it then U must also talk about peak everything because everything in this world will peak eventually: Water, land, foods, shelters, transportation, healthcare etc... Our population growth will cause everything to peak, so should stop using everything n find the alt. sources right now or should we use them until they're almost gone n find other ways? Don't hasten the problem n give them the excuse to raise our gas prices prematurely.
moniequa 3 years ago
you keep talking , about them and us and how they are going to raise the of oil, they don't need to use PEAK OIL as an excuse to raise oil prices,if you think about its not in the oil companies interest to raise prices , because as the price goes up demand goes down its called DEMAND DESTUCTION.
OUTOFGAS88 3 years ago
I understand the peak oil and demand destruction concept but it just doesn't make any sense when oil went up exponentially and then free fell almost to nothing within a few month is just rediculous. There are some elements of truth to peak oil because everything will peak but to just focus on oil peak and not mention anything about oil manipulation is just too naive. I'm sorry I can't accept that.
moniequa 3 years ago
listen I'm not trying to get you to except anything, I'm just expressing my point of view , as far as the price of oil being manipulated of course it is that goes without saying the Saudis do that every day when the either add more oil to the market , or , take oil off the market, the main reason for the large drop in the price of oil is the world financial crisis which is also an elitist scam.
OUTOFGAS88 3 years ago
why did you say we couldn't replace oil?
moniequa 3 years ago
I SAID that there are many subsitutes for or,but there is nothing that can replace the huge and growing quanties that we use thats the issue QUALITY and QUANITY.
OUTOFGAS88 3 years ago
this is something you might ,or, might not know there are speculators who are buying Huge amounts of oil and holding it in tankers just waiting for the day when the price of oil goes throw the roof again and of course when it does they are going to make a killing.here's the thing it's obvious by your comments that you have no idea how important OIL is to our lives, and although there my be many substitutes there is "NOTHING" that can replace it.
OUTOFGAS88 3 years ago
Yes, speculators keep the supply artificially low that is why the price went up last summer, why did you say it was oil peak production instead of oil speculation. I'm looking for the truth and I can't find it because everybody is so one sided.
moniequa 3 years ago
speculators are one reason for the price demand is also playing a big role.
OUTOFGAS88 3 years ago
moniequa, I will tell you what I think I know about Peak Oil. That is supply will not meet demand.
lizardfirefighter110 2 years ago
In 1970 they found of wells in Southeast Asia, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand. Now they are pumping it. There is oil everywhere. I will beleive peak oil concept when oil is more expensive then vegetable oil.
moniequa 2 years ago
Hemp for victory !!! 10% of food crop space would power america through hemp oil? why are we allowing our country to slowly degrade into a third world level? And now L.E.A.P. is questioning our methods against the drug concept... I truly want to understand so i can feel like patriot.

rmhm73 i can only say this to you, never never underestimate the power of denial !
lethal1960 3 years ago

I predict that in 50 years, we'll be able to fly from New York to Tokyo for $100--in 90 minutes.
161803 3 years ago
Well they will not be using oil thats for sure.
Rustyshackleford08 3 years ago
they will be using oil, oil is forever, I work for 1 of the major oil co.'s I shouldn't even be telling you all this, so I can't name my co. but oil is NOT a fossil fuel, thats all I can say
rmhm73 3 years ago
Are you referring to the abiogenic hypothesis forwarded by, for example, Thomas Gold? My understanding was that no substantial oil company was exploring for oil with that viewpoint in mind, but I would be very interested to hear something to the contrary!
Anyway, correct me if I'm wrong, but there are at least 2 trillion unconventional (but likely recoverable) barrels of oil in the US, so there's no need to worry yet.
161803 3 years ago
that's hilarious
Umberto2 3 years ago
in 90 mins maybe, but not for $100 lol
rmhm73 3 years ago
Not as though this is constitutes any sort of proof of my opinion, but back in the days of ENIAC 60 years ago, few would ever imaging that a machine with millions of times more memory, disk space, and faster processor would fit inside of your pocket and cost less than a days' wages.
Anyway, the energy is out there (the Sun); all we have to do is some engineering to get a cheaper way of collecting it.
161803 3 years ago
The Earth has close to 200 petawatts worth of renewable energy available to it and total human energy consumption is around 20 terawatts annually. This is 1/10,000 the amount of available renewable energy Earth has. It is strange to think that we are headed towards an energy crisis when these figures are taken into account. We simply aren't intelligent enough as a species (yet) to figure out how to tap into Earth's vast renewable energy resources.

I guess oil companies are too powerful. We could start building enough wind and solar to feed US energy right now.

if the price of oil is going up instead finding some diffent. why dont we make factory to make monney instead and give out $100 notes to everyone, they we would have unlimted sorce of oil because even if the price goes everyone would have enough monney to buy it. even if its like million dollors are liter. i don't understand why people ant doing this now

US has so much waste of oil. This makes me think that we can keep our life style without giving up on too many things. Actually, I think we will just drive a smaller car. Erope is already energy efficient and for them, to get better, is going to be much harder.
joefalcade 4 years ago
They just have to drop the American dollar for trade in oil and they will be fine. Its inflation thats the biggest culprit now.

Not yet, because oil is to cheap.
But there are already very serious plans to sell 2012 a car which can drive 20,000 km with 10m^2 photovoltaic, installed not in a ever sun-shine country, but in rainy Germany.
If you don't believe it, google for AKASOL.
mheck82 4 years ago
Assuming you're incredibly optimistic hope comes true, by 2012 we'll be in the thick of this problem. Are we going to replace cars on an incomprehensibly vast scale with solar powered cars at a time when the very roads, literally made of oil themselves, are unmaintainable?
CrazyHorseInvincible 4 years ago
Revolution is only 9 missed meals away. It doesn't matter if 2012 will bring new technolgy to save our wasteful ways if we have a starving population in 2011. Mobs don't have too much forsight when they are hungry; they won't want solutions next year they'll want a solution right now.
belmont14 4 years ago 3
Do you have any video of solar powered tractor trailers, locomotives or grain combines?
Weaseldog2001 4 years ago
Gallium, which is one of the metals that is used in solar panel production will be exhausted around 2020, at *current rates*. Now imagine how fast it will run out when the whole world tries to switch to solar power.
easuter 4 years ago
And what do you think the cost of 3 billion such cars would be, we do not have enough energy to build the cars. They might keep millionaires on the road but thats about it. Unless we can find a way of providing energy for India and China to catch up with us then they will not continue to do all of our work for us.
markcrombie 4 years ago
If the electric car were to replace gasoline powered ones, we would be talking about peak coal instead. The energy has to come from somewhere.
RobTzu 4 years ago 6
True. Peak Oil describes the life cycle of oil fields but the principle can also apply to any non-renewable natural resource. Eventually we will see Peak Coal, Peak Natural Gas, Peak Copper, etc...

Thats why we need to get in to commodities. Invest in that and the future may have a chance of being better for you. But just do enough for you and your family because if you have too much you may get some unwanted attention in a desperate world.
Rustyshackleford08 3 years ago
Did you know Henry Ford's produced a couple of thousand electric cars for women drivers at the time he produced the model T Ford? Electric car technology is as old as the car. The oil companies don't want you to know. The new all electric Tesla Roadster can outpace a Porsche. Electric cars should be the only cars sold today. Save the oil for the next few centuries' airplanes!
ruckrover8 4 years ago 2
See the doco "Who Killed The Electric Car?". Big Oil was one of the main culprits. It stinks! Oilmen and women in the White House in Cheney and Bush and Condi. Giving 100% tax exemptions for huge gas guzzlers whilst squashing electric vehicles. History will curse these leaders and a generation who burnt oil in outrageously oversized SUVs.
ruckrover8 4 years ago
Why don't you design and build an electric car with broad market appeal rather than whine about it incessantly? Oh yeah, because it's really hard.

well when u take a look at all the predictions of when peak oil will occur it appears that we're either at, or very close to hitting the peak. demand will keep rising but supply will drop off causing a huge spike in costs and then all goods that go through transportation will b more expensive, including air travel. We need to start solving this problem now because the longer we wait, the worse it will be.

trainluvr 5 years ago
Because drag goes up with the square of the velocity, air travel at speeds of near the speed of sound will no longer be economically feasible. However, I think we'll be seeing slower air travel with hightly efficient turbo-props and travel by train for the masses.
milotacsbil 5 years ago
unfortunately 4 us in north america, we dont have a very well established or popular train or bus system. we rely so much on air and truck shipping & personal vehicles here that the transition 2 our new lifestyles in the wake of peak oil will b very difficult and will likely result in a large recession until we kick the oil dependency
