I think the main thing isn't unique to LA, it's moving to a huge city a la (NYC, LA, Chicago). You're going to be giving up something to live in a big city. It's crowded (but we wanted to be urban) and there's no parking (but public transit is boss) and the rent is too damn high. That's the way it is. I am more interested in hearing the Californian-side. What makes LA LA (as opposed to NYC or Chicago)?
@jessi330 I love how you formed that question. Seriously, no sarcasm here.
Yeah, urban life is a mixed bag of challenges and advantages, no doubt.
As far as LA being "LA" goes, that's something that I think has to be seen first hand to really decipher. There's an emphasis on physical appearance out here that seems to go beyond reason and practicality IMO, but that's just part of it. There's also an obsession with celebrity that I don't see in people who live in other parts of the country.
:) I do know I am a month late in seeing this one. We have Dunkin' Donuts everywhere around here. Didn't know about the lack of them there. If it were history in LA .. I'd know it ... Today,, in the current ... not'n't a clue! :P
Haha! I just moved from Chicago and I had my fill of them! Krispy Kremes is in my neck of the woods in L.A. though. I think there doughnuts are better. heehee
Kool video, and I get your point :) IMO...California doesn't need a donut chain like DD. There are plenty of home-made pastry shops and excellent donuts all over california. DD just will add to the number of those struggling with obesity... xxx
I suppose I'll just stay where I am and add to the problem here rather than doing so elsewhere:) Moving takes loads more effort than I'm willing to conjure up.
I've always preferred Krispy Creme although in a pinch I'd probably eat from a chain called "Dirty Rathole Donuts" if one existed, LOL.
WTF? If they opened in LA it would be a goldmine. Remember when Krispy Kreme opened up in your town and they stood in lines around the block for some? It could happen to Dunkin. And why are there one in every city block in the East but none in the West? (Shakes Head) I don't get it.
I'm in Atlanta and if I move anywhere it will be BACK to the country where I grew up, not into a bigger city. I've learned my lesson.
I like DD, also Krispy Kreme -- whatever as long as it's cream-filled, or chocolate covered, not much of a "glazed man" myself. If I'm having a doughnut (rare), might as well pile on the sugar.
I gotta admit though, I haven't had a doughnut for a year or two that I can remember, even though they have KK in QuikTrip's everywhere I go...
lol! Donutgasm. We have Tim Hortons, but I'm not much of a sugar fiend. I tend to go for fast food like Pizza and a good burger. The Boston cream donut with vanilla custard is pretty orgasmic, though.
I passed a Dunkin in Chicago last week, but I'd already gotten my morning sugar/flour/coffee mix elsewhere. Damn. I've actually edited the video I shot there, I just need to put in transitions and music and stuff and remember how to post....
I never really had any intent on moving to LA before, but now i REALLY have no interest. Thanks for doing your part in trying to help the over population!
I had a DD in Germany the other day because of your talk about the subject! I've actually never seen one in this country before though. Odd that they don't have them in LA...
No Dunkins? Hmmmm.. Well, I'm still going to move to San Diego in July. Luckily, there's a donut shop near where we're moving that make my favorite kind of donuts. Maple Bars! :):) I'm so happy that you're vlogging again. I hope you continue to do so... xooxo
they used to have a really good one here in prague (it was huuuge, the location was nice and not to mention the great selection but now it's a pizzeria uuuuugh like there are not enough pizzerias out there) wtf Any chance you could ask them to open another dunkin doughnuts in prague? Maybe they just moved and I can't find them... I love videos like this (-:
oh and I have no desire to live in LA. In the movie battle for LA I was rooting for the aliens. LA is just to meh for me. I could see living in Santa Barbra if I was rich.I am lucky, where I am now its dunken donuts or krispy kreme.
I read somewhere that Duncan Donuts coffee has the highest caffein levels of any coffee, which makes it a personal favorite of mine; as for donuts, I am more than content with the Krispy Kreme.
They don't have any in utah... I have to fly to Atlanta to get them... ok when I go to atlanta for work, but I am talking what I want to do and what I should be doing
@Zublime75 Truth be told, there are some smaller bakeries who do donuts even better than DD. Not sure why, though, but I still gravitate toward DD whenever possible. It's like a slice of Midwestern memories for me, actually.
Things are extra busy lately so it seems like I'm always peeking my head in and uploading or watching quickly before disappearing again... which is what's about to take place once more in less than 24 hours.
What?? No more dunkin' donuts?? When did they get rid of them?? You are right...people better think seriously about leaving those donuts...:-) Too bad you had to go so far to get a donut, but I'm thinking the company was worth the trip...the donut and the people company...LOL
@OhCurt Oh yeah!! That's where you could always find a cop too...at the Dunkin' Donuts place! I'm surprised they are gone! I wonder where the cops go now?? Krispy Kreme isn't any where as good, in my opinion. I'm going to have to go on a quest to find one now...I didn't miss them until you said they were gone...LOL
Haha! Cute and funny vid! I likes! :)
