as for matt leinart... my best friend hates da dood... but i think hes talented & i hope he succeeds in the nfl... wit da cards or not... i like the kennylee comparision with him an drew brees... best of luck cards
ill give credit 2 dls... they ALWAYS field a competive if not dominant team... but So. Cal has a vast group of powerhouse hs football teams... Mater Dei, LB Poly, MVHS, o Lu, Oaks, Corona Cent, ect... sorry nor cal wit dls, clovis, an maybe pitts... but u cant compete...
Matt Leinart will not become a bust you don't have to worry about that, all he needs to do is wait one more and i think it is great for matt to sit on the bench right now so he can learn a lot from a QB (who was a super bowl MVP) how to become a great QB. Kurt will teach Matt that and once he does, Matt Leinart will become the next Drew Brees.

The only reason people are so good in college is because every game was against a sucky team. Just because you start on a college team doesn't mean you're very good.
Of course, starting isn't everything. He threw for 99 touchdowns and over 10,000 yards in 3 seasons. He won 2 National Titles and a Heisman trophy, he was a 3 time All-American. But NAH, he is "overrated". He is not overrated AT ALL! He will be great when Warner is done in Arizona, watch.
definitely, all needs to wait one more and i think it is great for matt to sit on the bench right now so he can learn a lot from a QB (who was a super bowl MVP) how to become a great QB. Kurt will teach Matt that and once he does, Matt Leinart will become the next Drew Brees
Why would they play 4 games in a row against SoCal teams when they beat there best teams and most of the time the game is over by halftime. They can stay in the East Bay and blow teams out.
Think about it, DLS plays a SoCal team and smacks them 9/10, They can play teams in Easy Bay and do the same thing. It just dosn't make sense for them, if the games were more competitive
They were one play away from losing the game half the times they played Mater Dei two of the times. Why would the other scores matter? The point is, if they were that close to losing to Mater Dei in 2000, a team who couldn't get past the second round in Southern Section playoffs, what the hell makes you think they could win 151 straight?
Sure, they can stay in the east bay and play a bunch of pop warner teams then beat one good team a year and call it quits. Nothing wrong with that.
I'm not gonna waste the time looking up the scores, but we both know DLS won the other games easily. And what does that matter? The argument is, that DLS would not have won 151 in a row if the played in Southern Section D1. I know they can beat anyone, everyone know that. But they would not be able to run the table in the D1 playoffs for 13 years in a row, it just wouldn't happen. At the very least, they would have had to go through 4 national champions. I'm not gonna bother naming the rest.
Its called playing a strong schedule. The same reason USC catches so much crap for playing in the Pac 10. Yeah they won the conference title 6 years in a row, but would they do that if they played in the SEC? They would definitely have more losses if they played in the SEC. It's not rocket science.
I sure hope you aren't a DLS grad or current student, because you are severely lacking critical thinking abilities, along with English and grammar skills. You would be an embarrassment to the school
Lol, there is no bigger Pac 10, or USC fan than me. I love west coast football, and I love De La Salle. Try thinking logically though. Like actually sit and think about things before you start spewing off about them. We are arguing about an opinion, so neither can ever be proven right or wrong. It's just my contention that your opinion is whack.
Dude did you have a 7 year high school career or are you just making things up to sound more credible? You said you played against Matt Barkley in a another post, and now you are saying you played against Colt Brennan? Even if you were a freshman when Brennan was the starter (2001), Barkley wouldn't even have been in high school when you graduated (2005). And your profile says you are 27 which would mean you graduated when Brennan was a freshman. Why all the lies man? Lol....
Lol ok... well you would know that Colt was the starter in all the games. Forcier got playing time, but Barkley was the only freshman to ever start at MD.
yea they might of beaten Mater Dei and Poly once or twice but a couple of the games were close, what im sayin is that DLS wouldn't have been able to play against SoCal teams week in and week out the way Poly and MD do, just look at the State Championships only Championship for the North was won by DLS against Centennial, quite possicly not even the best Div. 1 school last year, by a score of just 37-31 only 6 points and the year before DLS gets beat 27-13 by a 2 loss Canyon Country team.
they best Mater Dei 4 times and they best Poly twice only 2 of those 6 games were close.
The score against Centennial is deciving DLS was winning by like 17 at the begining of the 4th quarter ntil Centenial made a late surge. The game was only close for about 1 quarter of a quarter.
yea DLS was kicking Centennial's ass but it wasn't like centennial scored all those points in garbage time, i think they were down like 31-7 at the start of the fourth quarter and they came back and tied DLS and then Matt Scott threw that interception which basically ended the game and like i said Centennial was possible not even the best team available to play aginst DLS
and about Future NFL players, it isnt like DLS doesnt turn out NFl players in fact i think they have sent the 2nd most players to the NFL behind only Poly, and other losses to SoCal teams that Dls has, they have lost 2 games to Mission Viejo in the past 4 years, also about them winning their CIF basically every year, i guarantee that wouldn't happen in the South, just look at the 2004-2005 season
3 down years in 2004-2005 thay were pretty horrible but the rest were still pretty good, maybe not as good because they won 151 straight games but it's still pretty good
in 2004-2005 they had a record of just 4 wins 3 losses and 2 ties yet they were still able to get a spot in the CIF, that wouldn't happen in the south especially not the Pac-5 division which is considered to be the toughest division for high school football in the NATION
so they basically only had about 14 peerfect years, some SoCal powerhouse have way more than just a 14 year dynasty, what im saying is that DLS wouldn't be able to play in the south week in and week out, yes they beat some great teams but they wouldn't have been able to play with them week in and week out the way many PAc-5 school's do
No high school football team in the united states of america has been undefeated 14 of the last 17 years. They proved that SoCal couldn't hang with DLS 6 times, they are 6-0 against them during that 151 game streak.
6-0 obviously they were undefeated, DLS doesn't play SoCal teams week in and week out the North is WEAK SoCal dominates and DLS hasn't looked to hot agianst the South recently
week in and week out my ass they played them 6 times and they spanked them 4 of those times. DLS proved they can spank Socal teams just like they spank northern teams. Why are talking about recent stuff(DLS beat 2 SoCal teams last year) this is about you trying to down play there 151 game streak
exactly 6 teams over a what like 12 year period there's teams that play each other every year DLS couldnt have handled playin MD LBP and other tough SoCal teams those 2 teams they played in the regular season ended with a combined record of 10-10-1, they weren't good and why wouldn't you talk about recent stuff? its the newest thing, so DLS is agreat team for what they did 3-4 years ago? that's stupid, and DLS lost to SoCal teams they didn't play during their streak, that's why i say it wouldnt
3 of those 6 teams from SoCal ended up being state champions. SoCal gave DLS the best they had and DLS beat them plain and simple
And the newest thing is DLS being undefeated, being 2-0 against SoCal last year and starting out the 2008 season being ranked as one of the top 3 teams in the country and #1 in the West.
2-0 against a teams that weren't good at all, and the only team that they beat that became state champion is Centennial and like i said they weren't even the best team last year
There was no state championship back then. There is no taking away from the streak, it's an amazing feat.... but if they played in the Southern Section they never would have reached 100. Playing Poly is one thing, but playing Poly then Loyola then Amat then Mater Dei is another.
There was still a playoff and you played the best team in your division/confrence/area whatever.
Oh an please dont give me that crap, De La Salle played the best teams SoCal had to offer and beat them, most of the games weren't even close. Aint no use in playing SoCal teams every week when you usually blowout there best teas
Lol, I was just telling you there was no state title. What do you mean "you played the best in your division"? Am I Long Beach Poly or Mater Dei? And what "crap" was I giving you? Ain't no use in De La Salle showing up for the state title game since they can't win it I guess. De La Salle is the greatest program in the country, but the competition in NorCal is whack.
....yeah yeah yeah, the east bay has alot of quality football players and teams, just cause DeLaSalle dominated everyone, Hawaii SoCal Louisana whereever dosn't mean NorCal is "whack"
So what are these "quality" teams you speak of? If you are trying to argue that De La Salle is the best program in the country, you are right. If you are trying to say that the quality of football in NorCal is as good as SoCal, you are severely mistaken.
I am trying to say DeLaSalle beats the best teams in NorCal, the worst teams in NorCal, the best teams in SoCal, the best teams in Louisana, THE SAME WAY!!!!! It made no difference who you put in front of them they smacked everybody the same.
And if De La Salle PLAYED IN SOCAL they would not have had the streak. Lots of teams can beat ONE really good team a year then roll through a bunch of cupcakes. Who are the good teams that De La Salle plays every year? They are 5-4 against SoCal since 2004, and nearly lost to Loyola this year.
If "lots of teams can beat ONE really good team a year then roll through a bunch of cupcakes" then how come lots of teams don't have 151 game winning streaks?
Oh and In the early 2000's DLS beat a Pittsburg teams 4 years in a row. Of those 4, 3 years Pittsburg were undefeated. that team featured 2 future NFL players Jarrad Paige starting saftey for the Cheifs and Dennis Dixon former Oregon QB and now plays on the steelers. Oh and every game was a blowout.
Lol, because not lots of teams play a schedule like DLS! And you know why the school you mentioned went undefeated? Because they play in a HORRIBLE league. This year they were 7-0 in league, and 0-4 in non league games, losing in the first round of playoffs. You must be smoking something good, Dixon and Paige didn't even go to Pittsburg.
I live 20 minutes from DLS and I've seen them play dozens of times. The competition is weak, bottom line. A 151 game winning streak isn't so impressive when they only played 10-15 good teams. And Hawaii gets "smacked" by everyone they play out of state. How is DLS's record vs. Washington?
Anywho, just give it up in those 151 games the destryoed everyone, Teams that had 4-5 future NFL players teams that had 2-3 NFL players it made no difference.
Get over it your YOU'RE wrong. Why are you bringing up games after the 151 game streak? those games don't have anything to do with what we're talking about
Mater Dei 1998 and Mater Dei 2000. Mater Dei got knocked out in the second round of playoffs that year. For making all these claims you sure don't know much, do you?
DLS only played one of the top 5 or 6 teams from socal during the streak. Mater Dei won the national title in 94 and 96, Bishop Amat won it in 92, and Poly finished 2nd in 97. Yeah, DLS can beat anyone any time... But can they beat Mater Dei, then Poly, then Loyola, then Amat week after week every year for 13 years? No way in hell
and DLS shouldn't have won those National Championships, because how could you win a NATIONAL Championship when thay have possibly not even played the best team in the STATE
that was vs de la salle they lost badd.

What games did they win by 3 and 7 points?

Mater Dei 1998 and Mater Dei 2000. Mater Dei got knocked out in the second round of playoffs that year. For making all these claims you sure don't know much, do you?
DLS only played one of the top 5 or 6 teams from socal during the streak. Mater Dei won the national title in 94 and 96, Bishop Amat won it in 92, and Poly finished 2nd in 97. Yeah, DLS can beat anyone any time... But can they beat Mater Dei, then Poly, then Loyola, then Amat week after week every year for 13 years? No way in hell

What about the score of other games against Mater Dei? In the series what was the average margin of victory for DLS?

and DLS shouldn't have won those National Championships, because how could you win a NATIONAL Championship when thay have possibly not even played the best team in the STATE
