  • cool video. i'm 10, and me and my bff are competitive show people, and pro jumpers. good job 4 ur 1st lesson.

  • @horsecrazy101able Wow.Show-off much?"me and my bff are competitive show people, and pro jumpers."

  • Wow, I find it hard to believe this is your first lesson. Why? Cause you did really well. The horse you ride is handome (maybe this is because I ride an ugly horse) and seems to know what he is doing. I think you are taken well care of in the hands (or should I say hooves) of this horse. Have fun! ;)

  • That is not your first lesson

  • Comment removed

  • Wow such a natural rider.

  • hey, i've been riding for 10 years and i'm 14 now. i remember my first lesson real lesson at 7, it was basically the same stuff u did.....i ended up on the ground......=/ so i personally thought u did GREAT! keep up the good work and never give up! (And i love ur horse 2!)

  • How old are you in this video by the way? (: And your horse is gorgeous <3

  • Everyone being rude and critiquing is not being very polite. Yes it may get competitive sometimes but putting people down does not solve their problems.Yeah, advice helps occasionally but if they're getting lessons that means they are being taught everything they need to know by their trainers. Horse riding is to build a bond with your horse and have fun enjoying riding, not to be critiqued by YouTubers who think they're better than everyone else. Thanks for reading this lonnnnngggg comment LOL

  • You are a good rider, if you wanted two tips(for anyone!) to look more professional keep your handsdown and still and also post as small(out of the seat) as possible.

  • I love how almost everyone on youtube rides with stirrups, and if they dont have them, they are riding bareback :P Im not saying learning with stirrups immediately is bad, but I learned by riding with no stirrups, no bit. Helps so much more with balance and seat, rather then depending on your reins and stirrups to stay in the saddle.

  • @darlynkt I had to trot with stirrups it was fun, lol i didnt fall off lucky XD and it was raising trot.

  • People feel good about their riding when they obviously suck (FYI I'm not talking about the girl in the video)

  • @ceddyrules U obviously don't know ANYTHING about horseback riding. it is a very competitive sport. I'm not saying you should go critique people on their YouTube videos, but I mean, horseback riding is probably the most competitive, rudest, self centered sport there is. I know a couple people who won't say ONE nice thing about my riding ( even though I'm way better than them) when I always complement them!!! Focusing on yourself is the way you succeed in horseback riding, not by making other p

  • @rider2298 lol you can still have fun O_O

  • @TheBessierocks ya sorry

  • @rider2298 well i do.. im saying it "shouldn't be so competitive" ...!

lol... and there you go.. you said it all

  • good job for your first time

  • who cares what you have its about your pashion for horses and if you are a true horse ridder you really wouldnt care about shit like what you are wearing and how much your horse costs cooz all that dosent matter

  • your heel are AMAZING!

  • Very cool! I have a question what is the purpose of doing that with your arm at 0:26? I was just wondering :)

  • nice posture

  • shoulda done western

  • I trotted on my first lesson!!! It's quite easy actually if you just keep kicking. I have done dressage and show jumping and have gotton quite good, keep going anyway and you'll get VERY good.

  • Really well done! I had my first lesson last Friday and have another one this weekend can't wait! :)

  • OMG! People really annoy me these days! Why does horseriding have to be so competitve.... ("oh, she did this wrong. Why is she wearing chaps. I am better than her.") Well if that is all you have to say, then horse riding isn't for you. Horse riding should be about you and the horse your riding and something you love doing, not how much better you are of someone else. Or I've been riding longer than you. It dosen't matter about all this! Just go out and have fun! ;)

  • @Ceddyrules Does it matter if she wore chaps? lol I agree with you

  • @Ceddyrules Sorry this reply is late but you are sooooo right! If you want to be so competitive then you're in the wrong sport! Horse riding is for pleasure and to build a bond with your horse. Not to be critiqued and be better than everyone else. I might be starting soon and I'm afraid to even post a video of my first lesson cuz everyone's gonna be all crappy about it LOL anyways, thanks for posting such a good comment :D

  • @Ceddyrules You said it! I was afraid to post my first lesson, but then I saw your comment and I said to myself, "You know what? If anyone posts any crappy comments then I'm just gonna tell them to read this!" Thank you so much!!

  • @redwindrlz anytime:) but I had just had enough of people commenting saying nasty stuff.. no one is perfect so stop trying to make everyone perfect ey'?:)

  • @Ceddyrules True true ;)

  • Are you jumping yet?

  • really good, but on the first lesson ur teacher should see that ur handms were moving a lot ;)))

  • People are ridiculous. Why are yall giving her trouble over this video? Why would somebody lie about their first lesson? You looked really good for your first lesson! I mean of course theres things that need work, but thats true for all levels of riders. :) And people, its not uncommon to trot at your first lesson. Especially on a lunge line. If she exhibited good enough balance theres no need for her not to start getting a feel for the trot. Good job girl and good luck with your riding goals!

  • your good, but i don't believe this is your first lesson?

if it was your first, you'd e councing eveywhere, and your toes lower than your heel?

    but its not,

  • @ShanonHyper she said she has been on a horse before but this is her first lesson

  • i love that horse :D

  • AWESOME job for you first lesson!

  • used to have that helmet... lol

  • wow your very good, well done and lush horse :D

  • when you are posting try not to only thrust your hips forward but take your whole body. check your posting diagonal and you will be awesome (not that you aren't) in no time!

  • Is the instructor trying to trip the horse or what? :L

  • wait is the first time she was ever on a horse posting??

  • how long have ya been riding?! i ride both, english and western. i am getting jumping lessons! i can do everything but that haha

  • good job at that trot it was good

  • good job at that trot but i can do better(sorry)

  • Good job!!!! LOVE the horse.......

  • Wow I'm jealous u didn't almost fall of or miss the beat when posting I just had my first lesson but I did that several times

  • im not trtying to offend you, i think you are an EXCELLENT rider, but,

your feet need to be more behind the girth, and lengthen your stirrups. your such a good rider ! aweosme

! way better than me when i started

    !!!

    ( im so jealous. )

  • You've gotten so much better in just two years! Impressive. I'm jealous haha.

  • @lucy5280 aw you'll get better,

  • How old were you?

  • Your first lesson? wow!

  • Great seat & Great leg! Are you sure it's your first?

  • im starting after we move which were moving tomarrow so i can start soon can't wait

  • dont mean to like fullll out critique you but all I have to say is your post is a litttle big, but other then that you did awesomeee!

  • @3nglishRider i know that now, and could you check the date of those comments? it was nine monthes ago

  • I think you did excellent for your first lesson. You rode better your first time than those that have been riding for years. Keep up the good work!

  • you are really good! You're a natural! Are you showing or jumping yet because if you're not you will be soon!

  • wow ur good for ur first lesson my first lesson was bounce bounce im gonna fall lol ur good

  • wow if this is really ur first lesson then your a natural!

  • I just had my first lesson today...I was never on a lead. If you thought the posting trot was hard, try doing it without stirrups...it gets harder lol

  • i believe this is somewhat your first time....prolly not your first lesson but you can definelty see that someone that is that comfortable on a horse has ridden before. and i do beleive its her first time becuase she doesnt have very good position...no offense ..im sure it will get better

  • omg !! the circel is to small !!

  • you were really good, can't beieve people are critising i mean cmon first lesson :/ why crtisise took me about 5 lessons to get rising trot properly >.<

ahh i remember my first lesson :) May 2009 Haha lol can't believe i've been riding for over a year now :) and i just love it so much! :)

i wish i could own my horse but atm its just not possable :( Goin to collage in september and wel my mum wouldn't be much help becasue of her allergy's :(

  • trying to get my brothers to get me into horse backriding lessons!!!

  • im going on my first lesson tomorrow !!!

  • on my first lesson there was no way i cud do that and i had ridden my aunts endurance horses befor, not sure thats ur 1st lesson.

  • woow you're really good for the first time!! well done!

  • ever do bareback?

  • your first riding lesson, and you have a perfect trot, and you can do those arm excersises?

    First lesson..i dont think so?

  • i bet she works with all day

  • This is not your first lesson no matter what you say,, you can tell cause your pushing him/her on dont lie nice taste in music though ocean avenue :P

  • wow youre really good! :D

You got to trot on your first day??

    OMigosh cool! (:

Im excited- my first lesson is this saturday. (:

I have ridden before though, just like you!

  • @horsechick244 Tomorrow is the big day! haha I wish you luck, i had my first lesson a couple of weeks ago and it was awesome

  • Aww youre really good! :D

You are like me- Never had a lesson, but experienced!

    lol.

I have been trail riding and stuff for years, but i dont know if I should get a lesson! :P

  • that was great for your first lesson! my first lesson she made me take my hands off the sadde so i could learn to balance on my own and the mare i was riding spooked when a peacock jumped up onto the tin roof of the covered arena and the mare tried to gallop away with me. we were on a lunge line.

  • kick with your feat!!

  • You did amazing for your first lesson! I didn't even trot until my second lesson! It's amazing that you had the balance to trot with only one hand on your first lesson!

  • well i kinda dont believe that it was ur first lesson but there are some inperfections, like thet wrong diagonal. but i kno no one is perfect so if it is or isnt im not trying to start problems cause ur an amazing rider and just keep up the good work

  • gr8 first lesson

  • ok i doubt this is ur first time

  • um i dont mean to be rude but i kindof don't believe this is ur first lesson its just ur so goood its hard tot believe u have neva ridden a lesson before but i guess u know betta than me if its ur first or not but still ur really good (nice horse by the way)

  • it was my first real lesson, but not my first time on a horse. I had ridden before (trails, etc.) but had not taken a real lesson.

  • @EEWinterFresh How do you know how to post trot

  • @EEWinterFresh

it is kina hard to believe that you would trot on your first lesson. i dont think they would let you trot!

  • @lovemarley4ever No. I trotted on my first lesson and I cantered...I go to Wellington Riding School.

  • @EEWinterFresh OMG same for me lol well not date etc.

  • @cassiemyclyde I trotted off the lunge line on my first lesson. I cantered my second and ive never taken lessons before.

  • @CocoaManiac207 I didnt say that you couldent i just meant she was very good and didnt know if she had ridden a horse b4.

  • @cassiemyclyde agreed :) i ride and this is very good 4 a beginner!

  • @cassiemyclyde It's quite obvious that it is VERY early in her riding career. I do not find it hard to believe at all that this could have been her first lesson. Look at her hands and how she is using her arms to pull her body out of the saddle at the posting trot, look at her leg position. She is showing a lot of beginner tendencies in this video, which is fine because she's saying that's what she was at this time.

(Not meant to be a slam at all).

  • @gwenybear7 Excuse me??? I did not know that she had never ridden before infact thats exactly the opposite of what I knew... and I do own seven horses of my own so actually I know how to ride a horse!!! all I meant was that she was very good for her first lesson, so okay she does have a few mistakes, but overall for a beginner she has quite a good seat... (I am sorry and I understand where your coming from but I posted that comment 7 months ago so I dont need to be corrected now...

  • @cassiemyclyde So, what? I just came across it now. Don't get your undies in a bunch.

  • @gwenybear7 I really CBA to argue so woteva...

  • Good. Keep your reins low even though you don't have a martingale for stability,

  • great riding pretty horse good song too!

  • Wow! Your amazing especially as this was your first lesson! Just keep your hands low in trot and you will be perfect! :D x

  • you were really good do u still ride please watch some of my videos to say it was ur first time did well good great posture u did better than I ever did on my first lesson

  • you look good! your instructor is smart to use the lunge line!

  • awesome position but yuck english riding isn't nearly as fun as western

  • They are both fun in their own different ways. :)

  • i watched your newer videos too. you did great. and you improved a lot. Great Job!!

  • u look a natural! (y) xxxx

  • You're great!Really! :)

  • Good video, but don't post so high :)

  • holy man you have REALLY good position for your first lesson!!!! I"m very impressed :]

  • i could canter on my first lesson! it depends on the person. Good riding!

  • Excellent first lesson! Lots of my students don't look that good for a LONG time.

I especially appreciate the instructor starting with on lounge work. This makes life easier on student, instructor, and HORSE.

  • that is a natural position and a very good ride. good job

  • why does she hve chaps already though?

  • @xmadix97 I knew I needed them, so I went out and bought them.

  • @xmadix97 Heyy, not trying to be rude, but she might of borrowed them from someone, I did, because before I ever had a lesson, I hated riding in Wellies... ;) But also I had riding boots and a hat, before I ever had a lesson, It was kinda' just teach yourself sort of thing. And I think its best that way, the only way you can learn to ride, if you can experience it for yourself, not someone telling you what to do... :) x Some people may disagree with this, feel free to look and comment on my chan

  • Guys... its normal for someones first lesson to be off the lung and posting. it depends on what your trainer thins your capable of at the time and who the trainer is (whats their style of training).

  • I didn't start off on the lunge line when I started riding. And I think its a stupid thing to do. Looking back I am not impressed with my first trainer. (Luckily I only had her a few months) I ALWAYS start my kids off on the lunge line. Its just safer and more sensible because the rider can focus getting their position and rhythm right and not worry about speed and turning.

You look very nice for your first time! You have a good natural position. :D

  • i hav those chaps!! haha i love them

  • why are you on a lunge line?

well yeah for the one hand up thing, but why would you being doing that on yor

    so called first lesson.

i dont get it. But your good anyway =)

  • @zeebradaisy Shes on a lunge line because for usual first lesson people ride on a lunge line just to be safe. And when they get it they go free. And the teacher probaly told her about posting. Before riding. :)

  • tht cnt be ur first lessson.. ur like posting.

  • for your first lesson you AMAZING

  • hey great job i have been riding for 7 years it gets easier well for me it did

its so fun.the first horse i road was great but she was a spaz

  • wow great riding 4 ur 1st lesson. when i 1st started to train one of my horses Rio he wudnt canter he wud trot and then when i wud try to get him to canter hed buck.. but then he got better. CUTENESS HORSE one of my horses Snow angels looks kinda like him

  • did you do summer camps first beacause you all ready no how to post and do it with one hand great job

  • well done! it dos not look like the first lesson ;o :)

  • seruiosly dont mean to be mean but u must be a nrevuos rider (no offence intendit) im not trying to be mean ok!!! so dont jump at my throut!

  • you actually have a good posture on this video!

  • Is that your first lesson or your first time riding? Either way you are a natural! I wasn't that good for my first lesson! You have great balance!

  • Wow! For your first time thats amazing! I was all wobly, my hands were too high and i was terrible in my first lesson.

  • wow nice seat ive ridden for years and still find it hard to keep my heels down and your heels are pretty much completley down of ure first lesson well done

  • omg u have an amazing seat for your first lesson! I was really bad I used to just do this pony club fun thing before starting actual lessons, then i got a pony of my own and started parelli.. I have improved to no end¬!!

  • yay you're trainer started you off on the lunge! i hate it when trainers don't do that. yay for her =P and that was great for your first ride!

  • Comment removed

  • WOW that was amazing for your first lesson!!

  • Oh cool! I'm going to be starting lessons soon, i was wondering for for your first lesson what you have to do? do you jsut walk or trot or what

  • It depends on you trainer. For mine, I trotted on a lunge, and did different exericeses at the walk, and then practiced rising trots.

  • how was that your first lesson

    you are well good

  • goood luck.

  • my fist lesson i fell off

  • wow beautiful riding! your a natural! and the horse is beautiful!

  • You did GREAT for ur 1st ride....I am sure u will be a GREAT rider........

  • u are so good for your first lesson i was not that good hen i started

  • err woww i id the same thing this morning first lessson and took me ages to get teh rising trot and still ahvent got sitting trot love my horse tho hes awesome bit of a bully tho well he'll only do what he wants lol he wouldnt stop for me wen i was off the lunge line well doen to this girl that saying horsewomen(or men) are born not made applys to her me thinks

  • you did a great job for your first lessons i never took lessons when i first started riding i just read lots of magazines and went to horse camp a bit but my first major riding was when my dad took me to his friends house and they saddled up their horse and said go ride

  • control on he reins,

and try and keep your hands still :)

you did amazingg forr first timee xx

  • i did all that on my first lesson too!! such a blast of coarse i did it when i was 7 but i think im gonna do it on a free ride !!

  • wow, you are SOO talented :D

  • You did so so well! You have a lovely seat for a first timer... I will have to check out your newer vids! xx

  • not to be mean at all, but u were on the wrong diaganol, really. i have a problem with it too!

  • it was my first lesson. i hadn't learned them yet

  • yeah, i understand. i was too! i think first ur instructor wants u to just get the hang of it first!

  • IT WAS HER FIRST LESSON. did YOU learn about diagonals and get them perfectly right your very first time?

  • whoa! i was just saying scince it was her first lesson her instructor wanted her to get the hang of the saddle and stuff, really, i didnt mean to start a fight

  • @Bucklesluva lol everyones so critical on u tube!

  • @Bucklesluva It doesnt matter it was her first lesson i didnt learn diagonals till my 6th lesson

  • @Breyergal14 yeah i know, and it you dont mind checking the date, it was 9 monthes ago!

  • i starting riding when i was 6 and now i am a pro jumper if i do say so myself!!! lol u did very good 4 ur first lesson!

  • extremely good.. (Y) :D

you know my first lesson lol i couldn't get my self out of saddle i was bouncing A LOT :P

but i was young maybe thats why ;)

  • my trainer didnt start me off on the lunge line she made me go on the rail. well i have had too the one i have now has taught me wayyyyyyy more.ur really good 4 ur first lesson

  • that is amazing for your first lesson. i was on my second lesson before i was trotting, and my instructor wanted me to learn how bad the trot is with posting. you wont catch me doing a sitting trot for a long, long time.

  • you are really good for your first lesson. i still have trouble trotting with my arms in the air, even after 3 years

  • i keep mine too low... like touching the saddle lol!!

  • you were very good seeing as it was your first riding lesson!

  • how old are you here? because I'm 13 and whenever I watch first horseback riding videso on YouTube, the riders are always like 7 years old

  • I was 15 almost 16 when I started. :) You're never too old to start riding!

  • I started when I was 13, but have come a long way. When you are older, you understand things better.

  • i wish i still had my first riding lesson on tape!

    haha

  • how come whenever i watch someones first lesson they are always on a lunging rope at the start of the lesson at least and use a stall to get up with?
