  • what a great vid...happy days in the Kop

  • great upload by the way. ta

  • gay ferocity! Ha you wouldn't hear that anymore

  • @20cFilmWannabe Liverpool FC. Not what it used to be - in more ways than one. MUFC4EVR

  • @OscarBravoUSA L.F.C are on the way back while man scum are in decline. we see at anfield for FA cup. we show ye. YNWA

  • 3:44 its the fella off on the buses

  • This is wonderful, and to think the last bastion of this sort of behaviour was destroyed a season ago when Hib's legendary East Stand was knocked down for a sterile cowshed. No wonder in this age when the name 'St James Park' is itself up for sale that many fans are deserting the game. This house of cards has got to fall. The decline and fall of the Romaonv empire...

  • i envy those people so much for having experienced such a wonderful era of football.

and i find it a bit ironic that most of the people, who nowadays try to take every piece of freedom from the ordinary football fan were teenagers back then and most certainly enjoyed all the freedom they now try to take from us.

  • Truly Iconic!!! Wow!

So proud to be a liverpool fan :)

  • If only I had a Tardis . . .

  • Fuck modern football!

  • It was suit for stadium that time mate......."raw proper supporters"! YNWA.

  • LIVERPOOL FC <3

    Love from Egypt

  • amazing fans. quite iconic of when football was football. Glorious film.

  • don't see man Utd appearing on panorama unless its about money troubles LOL

  • they should have stands like this. where its just empty stairs and they let as many people in as possible. so people are just squished and pushing eachother. it would be a giant mosh pit. but it would cool.

  • @NickBigsmoke that's how people die! do you not know about Hillsborough and other disasters were people are crushed to death??? At least have crush barriers on every 3 rows or something to stop people charging forward!

  • @thedancinggymnast ahh. who cares. you have to know the risks if you want to go into them. people die and get hurt at concerts but know one cares about them.

  • @NickBigsmoke Who said people don't care about people dying in concerts? I'm not someone who only cares about Hillsborough & is ignorant about everything else. People still get crushed now! Only last year 21 people died in a crush in the Love Parade festival in Germany. I'm surprised really after reading about other disasters that festivals haven't changed. I've been to festivals were people ram forward & you get squashed.

  • @NickBigsmoke However I normally stand to the side. I don't think people should have 2 not go for fear of dying because a festival/football match in itself isn't a risky thing.

  • @thedancinggymnast The standard spacing between crush barriers on new terracing built in the UK, is around 8 steps... that I think is just enough for the crowd to jump around, surge a bit and have a laugh, but not get crushed under a weight of too many bodies.

  • @kingcdh123 yeh that is a bit more reasonable and more fun. The comment that NickBigsmoke made was ridiculous though, ' where its just empty stairs and they let as many people in as possible. so people are just squished and pushing eachother. it would be a giant mosh pit. but it would cool.'

Turning the entire stand into a crush would be cool???

  • @kingcdh123

Yepp, I loved surging a bit and getting pushed around. But as you said 8 steps is enough but we need terraces and we need lots of people:P

At the moment there is limited terracing coupled with low attendances in the lower leagues which make the surging and pushing on the terraces kind of worthless.

  • back in the days were only scousers went the match and the woolybacks, southeners and foreign basterds had never heard of liverpool football club. its a disgrace that normal working class scousers cant get a ticket for the match anymoore

  • Cant believe how good matches used to look, not even arsed if its a liverpool vid!!

We need the days back when EVERY club of a decent size had a chance to win a trophy

  • Omg Michael Mcintire at 1.18

This is back in the days when people went to both Everton and Liverpool games when it was affordable and for the LOCALS

looks well better back then anyway everyone singing the beatles.. I rekon the prices and globalisation of the game have fucked it right up :@!!

  • wish the kop was like that now :(

  • with a love like that, you know you should be glad

  • liverpool in red

  • Awesome! And 5-0 against Arsenal, too!

  • OMG they cant stand quiet

  • Sensacional!

  • thrilling to see a beatles song being singed by so many liverpool fans. Great footage

  • Atleast you still have Anfield....our beloved Highbury is now fucking flats and now i watch my team in a corporate bowl

  • lol

  • JUST BRILLIANT.... I was on the Kop that afternoon. We always stood about 40 steps up, behind the keeper's right goal post. I was just a kid. Never forget it. (Still have the bruises!) I may even spot myself there if I look closely enough!

  • When football belonged to the fans, all british players who loved, and went to war for there clubs. Not these foreign arseholes, who are only here for the money.

  • 18 men who hate this video , they r f***** faggots.

this is not just about LFC.This is about football or better say sport!

  • This is when we where the best fans in the world

Sadly the Anfield crowd these days is infested with glory hunters & daytrippers who haven't got a clue

    RECLAIM THE KOP

  • Im not a Liverpool fan but that is fantatstic footage, the age when the game belonged to the ordinary fan.

How I wish I could go back to that era.

    good upload ;-)

  • What a fans....

    YNWA

  • 1:20 Dirk Kuyt

  • You can see Michael McIntyre roaming across the top of the picture at 1:18

  • @TifosiYCFC haha it is!

  • 0:52 so unbelieveble

  • LOVE this clip! Wonderful!!

  • Brillian ...briilliant football is shit now atmosphere aint the same

  • whats the song from 2:45 - 3:07

  • @gludeklis The tune is "Anyone Who Had A Heart" by Burth Bacharach, but I am sure the fans devised some sharper lyrics. I suppose anyone who would know them would have to be at least 65 now.

  • what is the name of the song in 4:10

  • @no3pearljamfan anyone who had a heart by cilla black

  • ynwa

  • thats amazing!

  • Even in the early 80s the atmosphere was stunning. Now it's piss-poor and I won't spend 25 quid to be bored. I would encourage others to stop going and stop paying the wages of foreign prima-donnas.

  • @geekpie100 your spot on mate anfields like a libary these days, we seem 2 come alive when we play in the champions league, league games were awful.

  • @SCOUSEJAYERE It's like a library as you say: The people who turn up now are getting a much worse experience for their 20 quid than the fellers in the video were getting for their 2 bob.

  • @geekpie100 ino mate i agree

  • 28'000 Unbelivable!!!

  • Excellent swearage at 0:47

    Anyway. Fuck Liverpool.

  • am a liverpool fan,but it hurts me to say this but the kop these days is only about 10% scouse,a working class man on the kop is a very rare sight these days, you give the the right for the working class people liverpool to go the match again, then youll see an real spion kop atmosphere!

  • Same at all the ground mate. Bring back the terraces!

  • Sory on my not very well english.

I watched these your old clips, and I can to say that you in England lost so much today, especialy i think on Liverpool and The Kop !

You god fantastics stadiums, best players in the world and many other things, but you lost your soul, and you,and your "stands"....Can't belive that you permit that!!!

    Against modern football!!!

Greeting from fun of Red Star Belgrade !!!

  • @shawaiqqa "Anyone who had a heart"Probably by Cilla Black, as she was part of the Mersey sound, rather than the Dionne Warwick version, although DW s is the better of the two in my opinion

    Classic...

  • The image of the laughing policeman walking by with the Kop roaring behind him is something that will stay with me for ever. It isn't part of this vid however.

Great stuff - and I'm MCFC.

  • thanks liverpool! you'll never......, ääähhh?-always in my heart!

    greetings from swiss.

  • Thanks for posting this up - some great footage there. To answer norule1892: generally people dressed smarter in the sixties before flares and jeans if people were going out they put a suit and tie on (and a flat hat if you were over 40) plus the last game of the season is usually on a Sunday - so more people will have their sunday best on.

  • thank u 4 the explanation

  • u suck

  • there are no women on the sectors !!!! :)

  • 0:18,

that man is freakin' hilarious !

  • Look what happened to football in England.. Now the stewards punch you in the face if you stand up.

  • At St James' Park we hit them :P

  • Only at places like stanford bridge

  • is it customary 2 wear suits 2 matches back then?

  • wen it was an experience to go out on a saturday for the match...totally fucked it up nowadays.....sitting down...stupid stewards telling everyone not to stand up etc...get fucked to the lot of them...ruined the atmosphere totally...

  • pure scouse passion, get the wools out the kop!!

  • As youngsters we aspired to being a kopite, looking on from the boys pen. The values of Shankly, Paisley and Busby provided guidance in a world where football took root, reflecting the new found afluence of working people.

How different the world has developed where true legends such as those great men are replaced by mercenaries whose only value is the call of the next biggest paying club. nostalgia can serve to highlight social deterioration.

    L.I.V.E.R.POO.L, Liverpool FCc

  • Everyone notice Stan Boardman, later one of "The Comedians" in the crowd and highlighted twice years b4 he was well-known?

  • now i can understand why southamericans popular fans have the same behavior nowadays...singing, jumping during the match and making "avalanches" when our teams scores a goal...we took the english way to support our clubs

"avalanches" Min. 2:45 that's what we called avalanches in southamerica

    You'll Never Walk Alone.

  • This is touching in a way.

  • love the way he says "arsenal, southners"

    BRING BACK PROPER FOOTBALL TERRACE!

  • i like them singing the beatles song all them old blokes knowing the words and enjoying gettin shoved around, not one bird to be seen though eh.....?

  • "I don't know what they do to the enemy, but by God, they frighten me"

  • It sickens me to see the amount of narrow-minded computer addicts that scour YouTube for something they don't like and the best insult they can come up with is trying to turn the word gay into something derogatory. You need to turn your computer off and actually experience the real world. You might find yourself feeling gay.

  • well said

  • john6times best comment ive seen on YouTube m8 =D

  • PUTA LOUCA...u are a very sad person.
