@thedancinggymnast The standard spacing between crush barriers on new terracing built in the UK, is around 8 steps... that I think is just enough for the crowd to jump around, surge a bit and have a laugh, but not get crushed under a weight of too many bodies.

Yepp, I loved surging a bit and getting pushed around. But as you said 8 steps is enough but we need terraces and we need lots of people:P

At the moment there is limited terracing coupled with low attendances in the lower leagues which make the surging and pushing on the terraces kind of worthless.
