  • Does anyone notice there's less bass when the video zooms in? The sound quality is better when it's zoomed out.

  • inez is on bass.you could tell..the sound is different.

  • is that mike inez on bass?

  • @cbarrett34 That's a good question, it's really hard to tell because of the video quality. I know Inez was with the band in May of 93 (the Jools Holland Show performance) so this is right around the time the guys made the change. Checkout DanielinChains on here, I'm pretty sure he has the whole show uploaded.

  • @GotMeWrong1984 i think mike was fired in early 93. so maybe he did play this show. maybe was fired soon thereafter

  • @GotMeWrong1984

the last gig mike starr played with them was in rio 93 jan whilist they they were playing with ozzy ozzbourne whilist minke inez was his bass player

  • @cbarrett34 yes. it is Inez

  • @cbarrett34 It is Inez, search "Alice in Chains - Live in Frankfurt (02.02.1993) HD" and you will see Inez's hair at the beginning, and the way he stands gives it away also.

  • @cbarrett34 Yes. That's Inez

  • The most underrated Alice In Chains song.

  • grunge is the best sound ever!!! better than metal....

  • they're awsome grunge!!!!

  • the did that curtain thing now on there 2010 tour its awesome

  • Damn, zooming in really killed the sound :-/

  • Thanks soooo much for sharing this!!!

  • layne was so fucking cool

  • its not, bc in middle of solo, layne goes" aaahhaaah. and at begining i think he goes along with jerrys guitar," ah ah uh ah uh aha ah ect. cool. FUCKIN GREAT VERSION! THANKS BROTHER..AIC 4 LIFE!!

  • is this the 1 off the live cd?

  • I think it might be, sure as hell sounds like the version on their live CD

  • @GotMeWrong1984 yeah it is

  • no the cd version is from one of thier last shows... which was in 96

  • @olivertheshit

Nah, the one on the Live cd was taken from they last show they did with Layne in 1996.

  • @olivertheshit Actually, the version off the live album was from the kansas show in 96

  • COOL!

  • he played drums before singing and he played rythem guitar in angry chair and hate to feel

  • do u have videos of it????

  • Layne was clean during this time, right?

  • Thanks for sharing this, homedude.

How can I be the man when you so clearly are?

  • Beautiful!!!!

  • alice in chains GODS OF METAL

  • Grunge! ;)

  • dont disgrace their art with the term "grunge." Grunge really isnt a legit category of music . Each band of the grunge era sounded different with different influences. AIC is a metal band man , theyre just a product of their time. So people call them grunge.

  • Well I agree that each band of that era had it's different influences, but AIC was so Soundgarden influenced. Jerry used to follow Kim Thayil like a sick puppy. He loved that dropped D tuning. No criticism I love that sound. But the bands all fed off of each other.

  • kim thayil rarely used just one tuning

hes the reason i gave up trying to learn any soundgarden

    too many wierd, exotic tunings

  • same here. i think cantrell is the better lead player/solosist between them but i enjoy them about equally. Soundgarden and Alice in Chains kick equal ass!

  • you do realize every aic is is in a half step down, not drop D

  • yep!! fukn luv it

  • cept like over now which is d flat

  • Technically, its 430 and with the drop D tuning of this song, it is D flat.

Dam That River, We Die Young & Them Bones are all drop , which is why they are all played in that consecutive order live.

  • Where did you read that he played bass? I know he played drums before he started singing, but never heard anything about him playing bass.

  • maybe it was the drums then

  • it was the drums dude.

    he was a drummer.

  • STP i think had heavy alice in chains influence. possibly without knowing.

  • yeah Drums, if this isnt metal than im not human

  • grunge metal, perhaps?

  • Metal ;)

  • grunge-rock-metal ! ^^

  • Holy shit this show happened 14 days before I was born Awesome:)

  • Go Layne!

  • thank you so much GotMeWrong1984!!!

  • You're welcome :)

  • Awesome name

  • wow! layne's voice so greaaat.
