  • la version américaine du thé à la menthe mdr

heureusement qu'il n'y a pas des marocains qui trainent dans l'coin...

  • PEOPLE!!! stop bitching over the "real way" to make moroccan tea!!! if you know a better way, MAKE A VIDEO so we can all benefit, if u cant, chances are, you don't know how to make better tea. So be quiet and stop bitching and moaning.. For Goodness sake! *sighh*... anywho, great video, Alia!

  • This is not the right way we preapare tea!

  • This should be titled "Fucking with Alia". What the fuck? Why 2 tea pots? one on the stove and another to pour from! Porcelain tea pot? with leaves pouring out? Are you living in stone age? Buy 1 good copper tea pot which you can put it on the stove and also pour from and add to it a sizable glass shaped drainer that fits into the copper tea pot into which mint and tea could be added! Lasts a life time with not much work. Thats how we do it in Switzerland!

  • Where is the part where you load the gunpowder into a gun and start shooting targets.

  • Can you make me a special mint gunpowder?

  • I want to get something straight here, I keep hearing and reading that making Moroccan tea is traditionally done by the man of the house and not the women, is this true?

  • @MrKaerf women put alot of sugar in it and they make it light !!! we men we dont like that through

  • nn this iant the real way to make moroccan tea

    but it;s close

  • My glass smashed! :L

  • i sometimes sweeten with honey

  • haha thats true we always buy cubesXD atlest u made it very sweet and thats how i like it , my grandmother makes the best XD

  • Thank you!!!!

  • well, that's not the right way to make Moroccan tea and you're misleading viewers.

  • @mouad3p what's the right way then?because i have been searching and i saw a lot of ways to make it

  • I like that you solve and make traditional dishes without complications. Very easy and clear explanations. Your website is also great! Allah ibarik fik :)

  • I noticed that you prepared it a little differently from the way I was taught, although it could be the type of tea pot you used. I learned from the Berbers a few weeks ago when I was in Amizmiz. From what they showed me the first pour gets rid of the excess tea grounds...after that you can continue mixing up the tea as you like. All in all I LOVE Moroccan Whiskey as they kept calling it and I'm so glad to see the recipe done in more than one way. I was wondering if I could still make it here

  • what's the difference between morrocan mint tea and other mint tea I had in arbic restuarant? I remember seeing some of them use a "lipton" tea bag. What other types of tea can you use for mint tea? Thanks!

  • Oh Amazing. I will try it and give you feedback.

    Salam from London.

    :)

  • that's the wrong way my dear. u got it all wrong. tea is poured in the pot rinsed then cooked for a while to let out the flavors then mint in addded at the last minute. the atlas berbers arent known for making great tea, Rabati fessis and casawi are best tea makers.

  • one advice , don't use mainth branches , use just its papers, and s good to wash mainth nd tea in the pot with hot water ther add sugar. goodjob.

  • not the exact way how we make it. But hey, a part of mint tea is that everyone has its own way of making mint tea.

  • dried green tea, now I assume you can make this but making a cup of green tea then evaporating the water leaving powdered tea in the cup, would this work?

  • Try to be classy fellows, I made the Tea. Its delicious and sweet and this nice young girl is even sweeter. Besides, haven't you seen many modifications on one dish/drink etc.

  • Thats not the right way to prepare it, sorry.. indeed it is completely wrong.

  • John is right, It s completely wrong hwo she made moroccan tea, first we put water in the teapot, then we add dried tea ( we can return the teapot to fire again ) after than we add Mint and then Sugar.

what Alia did is putting all at the same time, the tea doesnt even look as my moroccoan tea.

  • I met some guys from Morocco while I was staying in a hostel. I became good friends them. Then I made them some green tea and they told me I should make mint tea. So I went out and bought some mint and they made me some Morrocan mint tea! Now I make it at home and it's my favourite tea too!! In fact I'm drinking some right now!

  • That's nice sharing your idea about praparation morrocan tea but that's not the way morrocan prepare. Sorry!!

  • Yeah normally they put back the teapot on the fire, but the girl here have only a ceramic teapot . But the tea the girl looks very good!! and this is smart for preparing tea.

  • Alia oh no It is wrong you should heat the tea once you make it so that the flavors get mixed together. And instead of using ground sugar you can use the square pieces of sugat as they tast much better

  • great job. i'm so proud of you :)

i'm gonna make it RIGHT NOW ...

  • ewa where is tachlila and tach7ar o razza?

  • that's exactly what i was going to say

  • As-salaamoe alaikoum warahmatouLLahi wabarakatouh,

Wouldn't it be better to add the na3na3 after you've put the water with the green tea for a little while on the fire? Especially for the people who want the tea to be a little bit stronger.

    Wa sallam

  • its hard to fine Nana here

  • salamo aliko..really u r special"cordon bleu" ..I like ur way of teaching us cooking..ALLAH ihafdk.

  • Thank you Ghizlane for your sweet message! I am so glad you enjoyed the videos. and if you are would like to search for recipes or print them, you can find all of them in my website (cookingwithalia(dot)com).

    cheers!

  • السلام اختي عالية,لو تكرمت ان تضعي المكونات بالعربيةلان الكل لا يتكلمون بالانجليزية ولكي تعم الفائدة.شكرا

  • my egyptian arabic teacher makes tea just like this its so good

  • to make REAL moroccan tea is need mint: nena, not normal mint...

  • Marhaba, very nice video.Moroccan tea is like tea we drink in Lebanon and Syria except we use black tea instead of green. We add a lot of Mint in the metal teapot with boiling water and we add tea and let it sit over a low flame. We add the sugar in the cups instead of putting it in the pit because some people do not like too much sugar.Me I like it very sweet :)

  • Hi! I have special 'Moroccan Tea Mint' and was wondering if anybody knew if it would be better than normal mint. I have HEAPS in my home garden and not sure what to do with it.

  • wow! I know what you should do with it, ship it to me!!!! :-)

I LOVE Moroccan tea, it smells like heaven. you could use it in ground meat balls (check my recipe of Kefta Tajine) to see how to spice the ground meat but then just grill it in the BBQ or bake in oven (instead of cooking it in tomato sauce like the video). it's yum yum yum.

  • thank you so much for all your great recipes, my husband is from agadir!

  • I am so glad you enjoy them!

    cheers :-)

  • I have drunk Moroccan tea made by Morrocans and its true this in no way is the same way the Moroccans di it. but for beginners who arnt north african this way is fine and believe me the taste is not much different at all..Good vid Alia !!!!

  • a wannabe choumicha hahaha

    just kidding

  • this is da one i was looking for merci

  • Hi Alia,

I'm sorry but this is not the correct way to fix a Moroccan tea.You put all the ingredients together, Moroccans dont do that, you should have put green tea first with the hot water and let it on the fire for a while. Then you can use cube of sugar to push the mint inside the tea pot.

NB. Most Moroccans dont use poudre sugar i don't know why. My mother doesn't like to fix green tea with poudre sugar it desn't test good she said.

    Thanks a lot

  • @IIGUISEL

    Hi,

I don't know much about handling mint nor do I know how to make Morrocan mint tea, but I do know a lot about green tea. One of the first lessons of making green tea is that you should never boil it, as it'll burn the tea. So you might be right that this isn't the Morrocan way, but it's a way with much more respect for the delicate tea than the way you describe.

  • @RaidChampion

Ur right.. i heard that too.

Also I don't think its healthy to put a lotos of sugar in the tea. we should change the way we fixe moroccan tea.

  • Keep going Alia this is nice.

I have bought Souiri tea أتاي صويري is very clean comparing Gunpowder Temple of Heaven availible here in Quebec.

  • Really good job miss alia, i really like what you're doing

    Tbarek Allah 3lik

  • lol gun powder

  • Alia you're really an ambassador of the Cuisine of Morocco.

    Well Done and go on...

  • Thank you Alia for this Presentation, i think that this is the first time i'm seeing such a way of preparing the Moroccan Tea, but i personnaly think that this is not the way i used to see people preparing it, could you tell us please where in Morocco this method is coming from ^^?

  • Hi. you are right, this is not the traditional Moroccan way of making tea and I was not intending to show the traditional way. First, I am using a clay pot not a Moroccan steel tea pot, because I was making this video for people who are living outside of Morocco and dont necessary have a Moroccan tea pot. I am also intending to make another video with the whole Moroccan tea set as you know of washing the gun powder, putting the boiled water in the tea pot, returning it to the fire etc. cheers :-)

  • u right i know if u have the moroccaine tea pot it will looks batter but that one looks good too

  • dont foget "atay negro" from the north

  • Stop bashing people! Alia is doing a great job and she doesn't have to!..she is doing it to help out those who want to learn basic Moroccan cuisine. We know it's not the tea pot we usually use for tea, but not everybody owns one and not everybody has time to do it the proper way. I have a Moroccan tea pot and I don't use it that often, especially when I want my tea to be light. Alia is doing a great job and for free, so please show her some encouragement.

  • yeah,i like the way how alia enjoy her life,so free!wish i could do like her does some day in the future!cheer, alia!!!!!

  • ...Alia is trying to promote our Moroccan culture, a culture that is very rich and diverse and we should thank her for that. A man who can't dance the floor is always uneven for him. My wife Lori and I thank you so much. We would love to see more videos. Carry on Alia and keep up the good work. May Allah bless your heart and keep you safe from these people who think that you can't do it or don't know how :-)

    Mounir Naaman

  • I know how Moroccans make their tea and to be honest with you I don't like it. I prefer Alia's mint tea because it is not too strong. Alia's cooking is very simple and unique and that is what I like about it because everything goes back to the basic. Alia is helping us how to make a simple Moroccan recipe. For people who can make a better tea I will say, why don't you get a camera and show us how so we can learn from you?...

  • it's not the real way!

  • Great recipe Alia, I don't have a Moroccan tea pot and this made it so much easier, I would have never thought of it! Very creative and yet still smells and tastes like the original one!!

  • add a thin slice of lemon when boiling it and when its finished and poured into a glass add some pine nuts in the tea ;)

  • wow, that sounds different and yummi! I will definitely try it and let you know!

    thanks for the tip :-)

  • Just thought id give you a lil tip, up to you to try it or not.. Add a thin slice of lemon in the tea pot, and once the tea is done and poured in the cup add some bondok (pine nuts) :)

  • you are right i didnt recognize in what a pot you did it...sorry

hehe...you know just wanted to let them know that this is the American way of cookin moroccan tea ;-P...shoukran

  • I am sorry but we doesnt make oure moroccan tea like that...its a much longer process to do moroccan tea!!!you need to cook it after you put all in...so he gets his typical brown color...

  • Hi Fatima,

you are right, after mixing the ingredients, we need to put the pot back on the fire for few minutes. However, you can only do this with the Moroccan Tea pot, and I used a ceramic pot (which you can not put directly on the fire). Outside of Morocco, there are not many people that have Moroccan Tea pots or specialized Moroccan ingredients, so I am showing them how to make moroccan recipes with things they can find in the supermarket or at their homes.

    cheers :-)

  • I hope you all liked it! Stephan1234 is right, we drink mint tea in morocco after lunch and dinner to help us digest all the delicious tajines :-)

It makes me happy when one tries my recipes! :-D

  • thanks for the recipe :p

  • Mmmm, I can almost smell it. Thanks for the recipe, I'll try that. :)

  • Very tasty beverage, thanks for the tips!
