anything you want can be a Disease just break apart the word Dis Ease .. meaning something that makes you feel bad. a virus can be a disease a bacterium can be a disease, working too long can be a disease. burning your hand can be a disease. and just the same way alcohol can be a disease. but not for everyone. I am a wine expert, I drink about 6 oz a day for work an another 12 or so ounces after work. i am always punctual i pay my bills and im never a slob. alcohol is not a disease 2me

AA is NOT an effective method for treating alcoholism. It is one approach that claims to have the answer to each and every persons' drinking problem, using just one single solution: the 12 steps. This is supposed to apply to every case of alcoholism. It's a scam. And no, alcoholism is not a disease.

i once drank so much ethanol that i projectile vomited through an open window of my house into an elderly womans face. It turned out it was my grandmother paying me a visit. Long story short, i only drink in the early hours of the morning now, when it's safe to assume i won't be getting any visitors.

So, being addicted to heroin is a disease as well? Being addicted to masturbation? Being addicted to the internet? I don't see alcoholism as being a "disease." Yes, it can definitely be a problem, but I think the individual has the power to control his or herself from outside forces, however persuasive. Cancer - something the individual has no control over, that's a disease.
