Cabella's A real sporting goods store. Walmart sells nuthin. Here in Canada you can't even but a round of ammunition for a handgun and they only stock 3 or 4 different calibers of rifle ammunition. Can'r even buy a decent air rifle . I wonder if it has to do with Canadian bullshit laws. Cabela's was the only place I could find a reloading press and different reloading supplies that I needed, online of course. Great store and great online service.

I understand that there isn't an ammo shortage, they just have a hard time keeping them on the shelves. When I worked at walmart, you could stock an entire shelf,and the next day when you came in on your shift,it would be completely empty. I could be wrong, in this case. I have heard that there wasn't really an ammo shortage, just the shelves were hard to keep stocked. Sales person's usually don't know when the next truck with ammo will come.Best place to get ammo, is online I believe.

well i'm afraid to even try them. a box of 50 was less then two dollars while a box of 50 CCI Stingers was almost six dollars. maybe it's the brand of gun (i have a remington .597) or maybe they just make crappy .22 ammo. i do know a guy that shoots federal ammo out of his Ruger 9mm and he has no problems with them

it's great! takedown is really simple (unscrew the barrel, remove a pin and pull everything out) and it functions flawlessly. and there's plenty of different forends and light mounts for it.

Back in 2004 I used to be able to get 1000 rounds of wolf 7.62x39mm for $70 Good luck finding that for under $350 or for that fact finding it at all. Ammo has dried up and online stores are out of common calibers. The only "common" calibers I have been able to find readily avialable are 22LR 12 Guage and 9mm the rest has seemed to dry up.

up in canada i can get all the handgun ammo i could ever shoot, getting the handgun is a real pain not only that its registered you need a transport permit it would be about the same as a 2year old asking permission to do anything and everything.. so i am going to stick to the SKS, rugger 10/22 and a good 12 Gauge..at least 762x39 is still plentyfull my local dealer still has 6 to 12 skids of it

Not even that bad there. Gander is absolutely and totally out of all the economical steel cased stuff, .223, x39, .308, and a couple good hunting calibers. .300 RUM's been going, too, which is odd. I bought the only two boxes they keep in stock a month ago, and they were pretty old, before they marketed them as "Power Level" stuff.

But I just bought myself 40 lbs of powder, 16 of which was for the .50 BMG. Stocking up on projectiles, bought a few cans of steel jacketed and frangible .308.

Here in S.E. Wisconsin the shelves are BARE ! No common ammo (.223, .308, .40S&W, .45acp) stuff is just gone. Thanks to the Bob and Rocco Gun Shows we have some reloaders bringing in ammo, but it's not cheap and it's all gone by noon on Saturday. The reloaders are also saying that it is getting increasingly hard to get primers and powder.

All the big ticket retail stores are sold out of "assault" guns.

Was by a Cabelas recently and they were ridiculously priced! $12. for a box of 20 of x39 WOW! That's $600. per K!!! I feel bad for the folks that waited this long to get what they need.

As to the "don't target shoot" comments- we ALL need to practice, your kidding yourself if you think you couldn't use some real training- we ALL could. "Budget" your ammo to include at least a couple K a year for training. You can only do so much with dry firing. You have to stay sharp!
