  • I just cannot understand why someone like Dr. Prager doesn't run for president.

  • No the damn Jews are the problem with all the propaganda and their lies to re-write History.

They run the Banks, they run Hollywood and they run almost all major media. You will only hear what they want you to hear .They spin all news stories to benefit their agenda, which is NWO. All you redneck so-called patriots should do some research before you email me with your bullshit comments. And to Mr Prager, no, it's a spiritual battle. Which side are you on?

  • Brilliant!!!

  • The USA is definitely the greater good for humanity than the UN.

  • Well Stated......Dennis is a Great American!

  • Dennis is absolutely right. The European "Enlightenment" brought pragmatism to US Universities, especially at Harvard. William James, John Dewey paved the way to a nihilistic intellectual elite that pretty much dominates every top university in the USA.

  • @AdversusHaereses I agree that Prager is probably against the Enlightenment, although I'm not sure he mentions it specifically, here or elsewhere. But such an attitude fits with pretty much everything he says. A certain strand of conservatism hates the Enlightenment but they usually don't say it explicitly.

  • The greatest generation is the generation that elects Ron Paul.

  • @gonadcancervictim

So the greatest generation does not exist is what you are saying? Because what you are saying will never happen.

  • Hey, Prager, read "Tennessee Waltz" written by James Eal Ray himself, the man you continually slander on your radio "show".

  • Prager said on his radio show a few days ago that James Earl Ray shot and killed MLK. He is so misinformed. And he claims he cares about "the Truth." Phony!

  • BRAVO

  • Prager is an admirable man.

  • Dennis Prager is a fucking horrible person.

  • @Ihateregistrations1 LOL! He tends to go on about what you've just said, and you've proven his point. Those who are opposed to his opinions think him (and myself) evil. Whereas we do not think you evil, we simply think you to be wrong. We maintain your humanity, and you remove ours. Shame

  • @Ihateregistrations1

Someone would probably have to be a very conflicted and confused person to say something like that.

  • prager is a dum fuk jew

  • @bigoxtailbone2 thank YOU for proving just who is dumb

  • God bless Dennis Prager

  • 133 people hate the USA

  • Hope Palin was taking notes!

  • @SonOfMrGreengenes said "Our current system of government will not always be, as it should not. Grow up ..." Conservativism is about incremental change based on what has worked in the past, not big leaps based on armchair philosophical ideas. Over time the U.S. has evolved without sacrificing foundational truths. Communism, on the other hand, was based on what Marx dreamed up in a library. It has never worked. Socialism is a tamer version and works for a few years until the costs pile up.

  • Denis, outstanding as always! This video should be mandatory to every member in Congress, Senate and every school from K-12 and in every college! It time to replace STUPID! It's time is NOW!

  • i dont know much about politics but this man makes sense to me

  • Like a Boss!

  • This guy seems to believe that the founding fathers created a utopia that should never change. We all know that such utopia does not exist because everything changes always. It's time to change. We are now in the beginning stages of a global social paradigm shift. Check out the Venus Project or the Zeitgeist Movement.... places where a rational renaissance is underway. By the way, if we don't change WWIII is next and it will make the others look like kids play.

  • @SonOfMrGreengenes You comment quickly reminds me of a quote I heard recently: "Rome, Great Brittan, and the United States -all ONCE Great Countries, but great countries no more. What killed these once Great Nations? It was the abandonment of the ideals that made them great in the first place." -that was taken from memory, and is not exactly the quote. Which is to say, that I disagree with you.

  • @BarzOnTheWindow1 It's not valid to use anything from the past as an example that is relevant in the present. This is because most results have a very unique and complex set of circumstances and causes that set the result in motion. In order for a fair comparison to be made, ALL conditions would need to be identical. That is impossible. For example slavery was a significant factor in the economy in the 1700's. Any assessment of "greatness" has to take that into consideration.

  • @RobinStazak Then by that standard NO CIVILIZATION ON EARTH can claim any greatness. "Sure you may have been the greatest hope for humanity, but you had slavery, so any, and all accomplishment is nullified!" Sorry, my outlook is not so grim. Until you can tell me what the "Progression," better, or beyond "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness," is, I will disagree with you... Cheers!

  • @RobinStazak and how did you come to THAT conclusion? -A PAST result perhaps? So the words "This too shall pass," can have no relevance because it is from the past? In that case NOTHING can have ANY relevance ANYWHERE because there is NOTHING that you can say, that has not been said before... I think this conversation is over! Good Luck to you -seriously

  • I feel sorry for the Prager. He seems to have lost his ability to think in a rational way. I don't fault him personally. He has simply succumbed to all the propaganda and it is imprisoning him. His ideal world is a thing of the past just like stone tools were to the bronze people. Like a stone age man hanging on to his old ways, he will never change his way of thinking, but he will eventually die, and thus help the new people make a better world for all.

  • @SonOfMrGreengenes yeah and enjoy the new world order libtard!!!

  • @kfag101, when I first saw your comment I was humbly impressed by how profound and insightful it was but now that I've read it over a few times I'm in absolute awe at your immense intellect and concern for humanity. Thank you for being. I now have a renewed hope for all of mankind.

  • @SonOfMrGreengenes My pleasure you arrogant, oblivious asshole

  • Does it sound too outrageous to say that the US began to lose its way when VAST numbers of disaffected Irish Catholics poured into it with a pre-programmed fluent narrative of hatred for everything the US had ever stood for? The American left is dominated by narratives straight from the Vatican and is it any surprise that these supposed 'liberals' will side with Islamofascists who run with EXACTLY the same narratives that led to Nazi Germany? BTW Ireland remained neutral throughout WW2.

  • Yeah, but Prager's sons didn't sign up for the military, so I guess he didn't teach them whatever he thought he was supposed to teach them.

  • wow.!!!!!! incredible, I agree 100% winstonthewhippet!!!

  • This guy should be presiident!

  • people believe American value's are evil, because America was founded on individualism. people are taught that to think of yourself is the worst value you can have, but people forget that a community is a group of individual's, so all this time you have been taught to hate yourself, you were really being taught to hate everyone, particularly those that call themselves American.

  • @atlaspressed Is it a coincidence that as the American history has been transmogrified into one of Irish Catholic disaffection, and everyone is SO proud of their Irish ancestry, the principles of the Founding Fathers seems almost archaic and strangely dislocated from the popular consciousness? The 'intellectual' left scoff at the 'redneck' right?

  • It wasn't altruism that made America great. It is a lack of rational self-interest that is destroying America.

  • yea go denvers

  • Sarah Palin looked pissed off.

  • I wish Dennis would run for president.

  • Comment removed

  • Excellent!

  • Comment removed

  • The idiocy here is too much to comment on with my ~450character space... Leave it to say that pure altruism and morals being ethereally distinct from ethics do not exist. An authentic education cures this ignorance. Anyone (even the worshiped Prager) who regrets having to quote Nietzsche undoubtedly never fully allowed themselves to become informed by his truths. Our current system of government will not always be, as it should not. Grow up and get over your money and lifestyle obsessions.

  • I have an enormous amount of respect and admiration for this man.

  • awesome!!

  • As of this comment... 122 people gave a thumbs down rating to this video. I'm guessing these are the kinds of people that give the likes of Van Jones or these other wacko socialists/communists a thumbs up, or maybe they are too busy smoking dope to be coherent enough to understand how important this information is. Then again, on the bright side, that's only 122 of the 2.7+ million that have viewed this. Maybe there is still a glimmer of hope for the USA...

  • u rock

  • I can never get tired of listening to Dennis. Actually, I can never get tired of listening to the truth about America and Dennis is telling us the truth about America in the most eloquent way. No wonder I can never get tired of Dennis. Thank you for your gift to America, Mr. Prager!

  • Does this video exist in its entirety? I would like to hear what the other 2 have to say also.

  • Up Next! SEX SEX SEX! What else can better take anyone's attention away from such killer points from Dennis Prager?

  • IT IS NOT PEACE ACTIVISTS THAT LIBERATED AUSCHWITZ, IT WAS MILITARY PEOPLE!

  • Dennis Prager is one of the most intelligent and eloquent conservative thinkers in the United States.

  • @Uushilumbu79 hell yea

  • Dennis rocks!!!

  • I think it is Dennis who says it is the left who hates America. Not the world.

  • @fireman9214 hell yea!

  • Great speech by one of the outstanding commentators of our time. Those who attack Dennis Prager attack the very foundations of the American experiment in liberty because they do not understand the gift they were given by our Founders, and the conscious or unconscious tools of its destruction. Prager speaks with a moral clarity unlike few in our society and that angers the left because it has no moral clarity.

  • This is, quite simply, the best YouTube video I've ever seen. Prager encapsulates what the core values of this country are - better than any politician / leader this country has seen since Lincoln.

    Just perfectly said.

  • dennis is king!

  • Great statements Dennis, very true.

  • Fantastic!

  • Yeah Prager! Woo woo!

  • Our government is too big. Our national debt is too big. Both will crush us by the year 2030. The US IS a force for good.

  • Our government is too big. Our national debt is too big. Both will crush us by the year 2030.

  • What does it "mean to be an American"?

Is he implying that generations of immigrants are not American?

I've lived in this country my whole life but have no idea what the fuck his american way is.

  • @nanaforiod There's a simple answer..go to Prager University in youtube and watch the American trinity. That explains what he is implying. Why must you make up a silly implication like..."immigrants are not Americans" You are so wrong about this man. He is the best hope for all of us. Just listen to his videos with an open heart and mind.

  • @barneygoogs If I have to view other material in order to gage this mans legitimacy or to even understand his implications then he has obviously failed in more ways than one. The purpose of a speech being to either enlighten or to preach (generally to an audience of people who share your views already) I take this to be the latter. Maybe he gives legit speeches on every other day of the week...but not on this day.

  • @nanaforiod That wasn't a speech. It was an answer to a question on a board. So obviously he couldn't hog up the time. His answers are simple, not simplistic.

  • @angelddaz Look at the question. "...If you had to identify a single threat to our country...". The question is simple and yet Mr. Longwinded doesn't give a simple response relying, rather, on his cliches and meaningless, crowd pleasing, "Pro America" rhetoric. I'm not saying he's overly simplistic only that he is more frosting than cake- you can enjoy eating frosting, but surely it would be a more full filling experience on a friggin cake (And this metaphor has officially worn its welcome)

  • This guy is some piece of shit, i cant believe what he's saying.

He just tells you what you want to know whether its false or not.

By the blink of an eye you could tell he's american and only loved by americans.

  • @code105163 I say by the blink of an eye you can tell you hate America. Too bad. It IS just about the ONLY force left today that has any hope at creating a better world for all nations. Without the USA the world would be so screwed...and if we continue down the socialist path the entire world will be ruled by Communist or Islamist dictators within a century.

  • He misquoted Nietzsche. If I'm not mistaken, he wrote "man can live without a how, but not without a why"

  • @ritter89 You jerk. That's the exact issue he was addressing He said it! We have LOST our "Why" in America. We are living without our why!!! That's the problem...who cares if he got the quote exactly right...the idea behind the quote was touched on perfectly. Am I not right about that? Listen to him again and tell me I'm wrong.

  • (2,737,678)

  • Shoot on, Straight Arrow DENNIS PRAGER - straight & true through the tongues & hearts of those who work hard, to corrupt America & Americans into being non-exceptional with cess pool UN's "values".

  • this man speaks the truth !00%

  • Relgionist Warmonger makes it up illogical arguments and lies through his back teeth!

Tell the truth about your allegiences with Saudi Arabia!

Your quote about who said America is the last hope for mankind was an American President, what a bigoted tosser.....Scandinavia is a far saner society than the one you propose and live in...

  • Relgionist makes it up and lies through his back teeth!

Talk about your allegiences with Saudi Arabia!

  • Relgionist makes it up and lies through his back teeth!

  • why is all the videos on the side like swim suit models

  • I'm from Finland, Europe and I think Dennis is great. I love America and what it has done to the world. It's time for Europe to rise against Islamic fascism.

  • @bigbrothersucksarse

BIg brother... this is one of the worst things about America. This guy is saying shit to get reponse: love your country, understand what America stands for, more charity? Meaningless. He is basically saying that the inanimate element "America" is more important than the people and their ideals. He is saying that "HIS" ideals are the American way; kinda sounds a bit pretentious to me. National pride is not only reserved for Americans.

    P.S. insulting the UN...wtf.

  • @nanaforiod Where did he say "National pride is only reserved for Americans?" You leftists always do this. It sickens me how lost many of you are. Did you listen to ANYHTING he said with an ACTUAL open mind? It was ALL VERY VERY VERY meaningful....NOT meaniningless as you attempt to argue. Quite poorly btw. Yes you are basically right though...he is saying the IDEA of America is the most important thing of all, but that doesnot make its people irrelevant silly.

  • @barneygoogs This speech was all dressing and no salad. HE spouts a couple of clichés and panders to his conservative audience refusing to acknowledge the fact that he has been slipped the soft ball of all softball questions which he in good faith should probably have given a short answer for. His pretended knowledge of "American" ideals and the minds of the next generation ring false when he cannot back up his statements or provided a proper definition of "The American Dream".

  • @bigbrothersucksarse hell yea brother!!! God help Europe and the USA

  • @bigbrothersucksarse Thank you; your comment is very kind and appreciated. It almost makes me tear up, because all we hear is how much the world hates us.

  • @SilverFox466 not all europeans loathe america. we in finland have an anti-anti-american conservative dissident called jussi halla-aho. you can see his opinions from the wikipedia page. they are very good.

  • @bigbrothersucksarse I realize not all Europeans loathe America. I think much of this is mis-information driven by the left media. It saddens me how the left drives propaganda and it seems so demonic to me. Truth matters very little to the left. They are willing to win at any cost. Thanks for you positive comment.

  • @bigbrothersucksarse Exactly right.

  • All these people in this video ARE in favor of big government. They are in favor of an out of control warfare state not the welfare state. Even though W. gave America one of biggest new welfare programs with the edition of Medicare part D. That's socialism. You can't be in favor of unlimited spending on the military and want American military bases all over the world and be in favor of small government. The Republican party is a big government party.

  • @bigbrothersucksarse Or the toresrist will attack europe

  • @13SuperKings actually i was referring to multiculturalism more than terrorism. multiculturalism undermines western values and bad immigration is dangerous to western values. if the people of europe change then the values change.

  • @bigbrothersucksarse Yeah multiculturalism is a problem in some ways.

  • I challenge you who disagree with Dennis, call his show. He will put you to the front and take your call. He loves taking opposing opinion. And he will let you verbally hang yourselves. He will not use a course word with you. He will hear you out and he will show his audience how absurd your thinking is.

  • flanginaflan:

I feel sorry for you, I really do

  • I thought this was "Q & A"?

I did not hear any questions asked . . .

nor did I hear any answers. lol

  • His way of thinking is the single greatest threat to all of humankind. We are at a turning point in the existence of mankind. The truth is Earth is our last best hope. We all need to start thinking that way or we may soon destroy it all.

  • @SonOfMrGreengenes No yours is, the left is bankrupting and destroying the country. The left in urope is destroying them and the left here is attempting to follow the same sorry path.

  • This joker does not have a clue. If he did he would know that what he envisions for America would improve nothing and most likely would facilitate it's demise. I'd love to get his difinition of "freedom" as he uses it. This man is to be pitied. He knows nothing.

  • @SonOfMrGreengenes I DARE you to call his show with your empty clap-trap...He we very sweetly verbally cut you and your ideas to ribbons...

  • LOLFARRIGHTAMERICANRETARDS

  • @flanginaflan

You sure are a brilliant one aren't you? Able to combine all that into one word, very impressive. At least the United States will be a moral leader in the world for years to come. The United Kingdom has a bleak future ahead. The far left has run your country too long and now there is nobody left with any money to pay the fatty entitlement benefits to all your muslims.

  • @bw01a The left have run our country just fine thank you, not that they've quite managed to clear up the mess from thatcher. And whether or not we have a bleak future ahead is irrelevant to my comment. Oh by the way? How could anyone ever see the USA as a moral leader? Death penalty, not a welfare state, such high 'defense' spending... Seriously get over yourself, God bless america, were so great. Your country geographically is nice but apart from that and its music its a complete shit hole!

  • @flanginaflan

Wow. I could actually hear the envy in your typed words.

Without the death penalty murderous criminals get to live out their lives despite the evil crimes they committed. Just take a look at the Lockerbie bomber, nobody had the moral fortitude to put him to death and now he walks free. And, you should thank the United States for its defense spending, it is what has allowed Western Europe to develop those fatty welfare entitlement states that you love so much. :P

  • @bw01a There are some good tings about the USA, like most countries, you would have to be a fool to deny it. But the things I listed are things about the US that absolutely disgust me and could not be less envoius of. The thought of people with or without mental illness not being given a chance to rehabilitate because of something stupid they did is just wrong. Whats more the death penalty is expensive and doesnt reduce crime and is a violation of human rights and should not be used even...cont.

  • @flanginaflan

Sometimes there is no need for rehabilitation. Someone who rapes and brutally murders 5 people doesn't need to be rehabilitated, they need to be done away with. In the United States, we value life greatly, and if you intentionally take an innocent life, you deserve to die. People will often oppose the death penalty when the family or friends of others are murdered, but when it is their own mother/father, sibling, husband or wife then they understand.

  • @bw01a if it did reduce crime and was cheap. As for the welfare state, its to help out the people most in need. The NHS is to help the ill and other benefits are to help the poor. Not everyone lives on benefits and not everyone is super rich. Most people over here are in the middle, they work hard but they arnt so selfish that they dont mind paying tax to help the poor.

  • See YT video 'Brainwashing of America' for Exactly Why the Left can Not Possibly Get It!!

    Shocking Insider Truth!

  • Nietzsche said many great things. Nietzsche and Ayn Rand have formulated the best arguments against collectivism and for individuality and personal accomplishment.

Republicans would do well to put down their bibles and read some of their works for a change.

  • d continued) I think (and the international community agrees) that if we can implement some sort of rational single payer or public system, we'd find that nobody will be without health care, just like nobody is without police or fire or water or military or education. It was also be much cheaper, which is another reason i despise private health care.

  • b) According to Reuters, in 2009 46 million Americans were living in poverty. I leave it to you whether you are someone who can cavalierly overlooks this as "a bunch of lazy people" or someone who considers this a major flaw in the inner workings of society. Comparing this to another country is meaningless because the exact reason that we are such a free society makes its that much worse that we could allow this to happen. I don't even think YOU believe the statement "Nobody starves here"

  • Ugh, he started making sense then all of a sudden he said "like gov palins son enlists to defend freedom..." ugh jeesus, this Guy looks and sounds like he is talking the truth, look at his words on paper...

  • Sorry, first one went on top, instead of posting first (at the bottom). Stupid YouTube interface...

  • Comment removed

  • This man Prager ceases to amaze me with his brilliance and ability to speak the truth.

  • 4) The welfare of society simply means the nations ability to provide the basic necessities of standard of living for every citizen. (the nation meaning the population) We have moral responsibilities to provide for those who are marginalized and unfortunate. The fact is, our society DOESN'T enable freedom and pursuit of wealth. That is indoctrinated rhetoric built into the system to subjugate people into false hopes. The corporate agenda: profit first, people second. If you exploit you're golden

  • Dennis Prager is full of shit, and his supporters are lacking common sense. A prager supporter who goes by the name PragerUniversity blocks anyone from his propaganda threads when they criticize prager or actually present evidence that contradicts his own. Anyone who suppreses freedom of speech in order to promote this douchebags ideals goes to show the type of people who support him.

  • @Bilderbergz OK, I can agree with the statement "Anyone who supresess freedom of speech in order to promote this douchebags ideals goes to show the type of people who support him." -Bad spelling BUT, Common sense tells ME that while we have freedom of speech, we do NOT have have the right to be heard! -We DON'T! That is written now where! Now then, instead of going on about those who support him, tell me where he is wrong here. I do not pretend to know everything, and I just wanna know...

  • @BarzOnTheWindow1 "Common sense tells ME that while we have freedom of speech, we do NOT have have the right to be heard!" right, and thats what one of his supporters does, he blocks anyone who contradicts prager. The reason why im mentioning this, is because people will do anything in order to supress others from speaking out and thats plain wrong, thats my argument.

  • @Bilderbergz Gotcha, and I happen to agree with you. No value is worth having if your faith in it is so poor that you fear it's scrutiny. "It is bad when one thing becomes two. One should not look for anything else in the Way of the Warrior. It is the same for anything that is called a Way. If one understands things in this manner, he should be able to hear about ALL WAYS and be more and more in accord with his own." Now, if you could explain where Prager is "off" here...?

  • WRONG!

What Collapsed the Soviets will ALSO Destroy America...

A central bank creating fiat debt-currency so corrupt crony politicians can pander to special interests with Socialist programs and ENDLESS wars on a tactic of a desperate, occupied people.

    NeoCon = Statist "social" conservative

    Democrat = Statist anti-liberty liberar.

Statist A vs. Statist B. BOTH hate the Constitutional limititations on THEIR power OVER our daily lives.

Watch: "Money as Debt" here on YouTube!

  • Jesus Christ - American exceptionalism? This guy is nuts. The quickest way to not be exceptional is to start believing that you are.

I do agree with Prager about one thing. Asked about the greatest threat to America, he replied that "we are our problem." I agree. He, Palin, and their ilk are the greatest threat to the country - hands down.

I look at the paper everyday wondering "what are the forces of evil - the legions of rightwing American morons - trying to fuck up today?"

  • @VeryEvilPettingZoo I literally LOLed at your comment. It's really sad to see someone so biased as yourself in due part to an extremely liberal media, call anything conservative moronic. Do you honestly believe that conservatives, people oriented around strong patriotic values and a hard work ethic are the bane of this nation? The greatest threat to this country are liberal pansies who bow out of any quarrel and are afraid to show any kind of fortitude. We will be a doormat under their guise.

  • @0rch0l0d3s

I lol'd too. I was about to tackle his comment, but you did a good job. :)

  • @0rch0l0d3s

"Someone so biased as myself" got that way because... I'm not an idiot. The rightwing in this country is insane. Vice President Palin? American Exceptionalism? Etc. It's an infinite list.

    Re: strong patriotic values

Patriotism with a gop in white house = no criticizing the president, even as he shits on the Constitution and deceives the people about the minor matter of the justification for a pre-emptive war.

Patriotism with a dem in white house = revolutionary anti-gov rhetoric.

  • @VeryEvilPettingZoo Can you give us an example of something you found in the newspaper that represents something the "rightwing American morons" have tried to fuck up? Also, how do those who insist on not radically changing the laws and values that have defined our country comprise a threat to the country?

  • @beakt

Re: Can you give us an example of something you found in the newspaper that represents something the "rightwing American morons" have tried to fuck up?

    WashingtonPost Jan 10,2011:

There's a story entitled "Arctic melts, U.S. ill equipped" about how the global warming issue (denied, opposed, and mitigation-impeded by rightwing ideologues & the gop) is seriously effecting the Arctic, with consequences for American interests. (Interestingly, it includes much about the military's concerns)

  • (cont)

There's a story about the new gop chair of Energy and Commerce, and how Big Biz is happy and filling his campaign coffers: "his current views on business issues place him solidly in line with the agenda of House Speaker John A. Boehner (Ohio) and the Republican leadership. He wants to undo 'Obamacare,' rein in the Environmental Protection Agency and halt the administration's efforts to guarantee 'net neutrality'"...

  • (cont)

... "Business groups are upbeat. "I think our interests and his and the Republican conference's align, especially on EPA stuff," said an oil industry lobbyist"

And finally: "Tragedy blamed on toxic talk" - about the government fearing, rhetorically revolutionary, mentally disturbed guy who shot a US congresswoman, a democrat, in the head yesterday. A WEEK AGO here I posted about conservative "patriotic" rhetoric: "Patriotism with a dem in white house = revolutionary anti-gov rhetoric".

  • @VeryEvilPettingZoo So, given that you are a big-government, speech-controlling, hysteria-believing leftist, and our country was founded on limited government and individual liberty, how could you say that those who are trying to return to the values that our country was built on and thrived on are trying to destroy it? The left is trying to change it, and when America changes too much, it will cease to be America. That's what Prager is saying her.

  • @VeryEvilPettingZoo You can love your big government leftism just fine, but at least be honest and say that you're the one who wants to "fuck up" America by destroying what we once had, and have barely been hanging on to for several decades, with the unprecendented power grabs, and open mockery and contempt of the Constitution, in the past two years.

  • @beakt

LOL - look at you - you're exactly what I meant by "rightwing American moron."

You think "it's bad because the government's running it" is a rational argument. You reject as a "power grab" any government correction to market failures - such as the richest nation on earth, despite spending an outrageous amount per capita on healthcare, leaving millions of its people w/o the basic life necessity of access to health care.

  • (cont)

You speak of the "open mockery and contempt of the Constitution, in the past two years". Have you ever even read the Constitution? By all means, please cite the article and section that's been shown some special mockery or contempt the past two years - I'm all ears. The irony, of course, is that Bush really did take a dump on the US Constitution - on the core tenets of liberty - and the rightwing halfwits THEN were silent - worse - insanely declared criticism of the gov to be unpatriotic

  • (cont)

Oil lobbyists, and their advocates (i.e. republican politicians), want to hamper the EPA. You're all for it. Why? Some insightful critque? No, you believe and do as massa tells you because you've brilliantly deduced that "gubmint is bad". You're a complete tool.

You clealy don't understand what 'net neutrality' is about - yet you spout off about it.

LOL - you think global warming is a myth. "I know more than the planet's scientists, 'cause I watch a lot of Fox News."

  • @VeryEvilPettingZoo OK, so, if you're a big-government leftist, then I guess wanting to undo the biggest government power-grab in history (Obamacare) would be "something to fuck up". And if you believe government is best when it meddles most, you would think reining in the EPA is another fuck up. And if you are a leftist that depends on demagoguery and controlling free speech to sell your false promises, then you would of course love net neutrality, and see freedom on the Internet as a fuck up.

  • @VeryEvilPettingZoo And if you believe in the myth of global warming, then I guess those who don't believe in the same types of hysteria from the left (which always turn out to be false) refusing to do anything, would be a fuckup. I don't see how an insane man committing murder has anything to do with the right-wing, except that the demagogues of the leftist media will try to make the connection, to further their leftist propaganda.

  • 4. The business and political classes have propagated our culture into developing materialistic values. Its a generalization of the culture, not so much on an individual bases. Its quite obvious to see when you turn on your tv. Take a look and really analyze the commercials that we so tend to pass off as innocent. Its all used to get us to buy shit we don't need and to make us feel prettier than the next. Our culture puts personal wealth over the welfare over society and the top players love it

  • @johnowensjr1234 OK, John Owens, Jr., thanks again for taking the time to reply thoughtfully. I have some follow ups to each question.

  • @johnowensjr1234 (1a) OK, so in your earlier comments, presented as a generalization (“it’s absurd” and “childish and ignorant” to claim ANY country is the best), you weren’t writing honestly. You have now made it plain you think America is far from the best, and that you DO want to measure countries’ worth using what you call rational data. You should just say so, then.

  • 1a) Let me clarify this argument of American Exceptionalism. Like the president, I feel that America is exceptional the same way Ecuador feels about their own nation: Because it is your own nation, I feel it is necessary to critique and use proper dissension to keep the state in check. It's seems that Prager and the Neo-cons seem to be on board with this except when the US military carry out atrocities around the world. To them its in the name of democracy or whatever rhetoric of the week it is

  • @johnowensjr1234 (1b) You impede a healthy debate if you counter Prager’s statement that America is “the best” by trying to declare that having an opinion on that at all is “not good for critical thinking”. So, unless you care to defend this, we’ll put aside your original objection, and continue debating whether America is the best without you summarily dismissing my right to do so.

  • 1b) I try not to rate America or any other country unless it is based on facts or data. That means if we're comparing a nations health care system to another, I put into account data that different health organizations use to compile a more science based list. (costs per person, availability etc) The way most people in this country formulate their opinion is by the tired and bias partisan rhetoric used by the media (left and right). Prager tends to do this constantly.

  • @johnowensjr1234 (1c) Moving on. You mentioned using "rational data" to measure a country’s worth, but you didn’t give an example of these objective measures. What are they?

  • @johnowensjr1234 (1d) Also, you made a bizarre statement I would like you to clarify, please. How do wealth and prosperity bring an “equal or higher level of poverty” (let alone “almost always”)? The poorest people in the world live in very poor countries. There are very few truly poor people in the wealthiest nations, such as the U.S. We don’t have starvation or rampant disease here like there is in poor nations.

  • 1d) In most wealthy industrialized nations the presence of business and prosperity is obviously there. It's important to note, however, that this can't be confused with a healthy standard of living for the general population. Our lower class is expanding in numbers while the wealth of the nation is becoming increasing centralized into a small sector of society. It easy to think that there is equal opportunity for that life because of our corporate culture. Mass propaganda is used to brain wash

  • @johnowensjr1234 (2a) You didn’t answer my question at all. But, I will comment on your comment on whether our media system is “free”. I think your terms are mixed up. First, there is no such thing as “free” (that is, cost-free) mass media. Someone has to pay. When the term “free” is used as in “free from corporate influence”, that is a euphemism for government-funded, which means government-controlled, which means not free (think North Korea, USSR, and Cuba).

  • 2a) You're obviously not familiar with the term free-press which doesn't mean free as in free of charge. It means a healthy and diverse press system based on independent journalism and public means of funding. You've obviously got it into your head like the rest of America that public automatically means "state controlled". This is not the case. Back when our country formed into the 19th cent., this kinda system was present. Now, we have a highly concentrated media system based on business

  • @johnowensjr1234 (2b) In our current system of competition by the “4 major conglomerates”, we have reasonably healthy diversity of viewpoint on the air.
