Tarot just works by picking up the querants energy and interprets it in the cards. Given that Christianity has borrowed heavily from Paganism anyway I dont think Tarot can be seen as evil or against God. However there is a lot of power in the cards that the early churches did not want to become common knowledge hence the official church stance regarding any form of divination
