I feel as if Im going on a bit now, but my point here is that because I have read the Bible I am aware that most religions are not worshipping the God I know of spoken of in the Bible, whose name is YHWH or Jehovah. I also believe knowledge is power - and there is much knowledge in the Bible. When you finally read it again you'll see that it constantly warns us against religions and govts etc.

In answer to why are there so many different religions - well, I can't speak for all religions, but as I used to be a RC (was baptised as a baby - not my choice but parents baptised me purely for education reasons lol) I can speak of my experience. I am aware RC leaders don't encourage their followers to read the scriptures - and if people did, the religion would be totally exposed. After reading the bible properly, it clearly says that both the righteous and the unrighteous will be saved - I think the 'all followers of other religions' part came from closed minded leaders to be honest. I haven't seen that in the bible. People sometimes interpret it how they choose to and also add and take away things - ie: RC's.
