After watching a dozen or so vids of his today, I realize " What Teachers Make" is the least representative of his work. Insanely brilliant. This one, like fine wine, Im going to sip slowly.. although I usually gulp my drinks! Kudos, sir.
I've never really been afraid of death. When I was little, there was a little girl in our class whose mother died. She broke down in class crying "I don't want to die. It's not fair." Even then, in third grade, I had accepted that death will come for all of us. All we can do is live. Thank you for another awesome piece. I love listening.
Mr. Mali, that is a fantastic poem. Thank you for sharing it with all of us. There aren't a lot of ... hopeful, even joyful poems about death, so this was a really welcome and unique piece to get to hear. :) I started writing my own poems about a year ago, at the encouragement of a dear friend, but still haven't got it in me to perform them yet. I want to get to that stage one day, though. Watching your videos gives me that spark, of wanting to be up on a stage now, reading mine. Thank you :)
Coincidences are fun! Only last night I was lying awake, thinking of a conversation I had with my mother when I was only 4 or 5 years old. I still remember her saying she'd hate to live beyond 80, and me bawling my eyes out. It's strange what things stick with children into adulthood! Maybe I should write a poem about it...
I don't necessarily believe in an afterlife, but I loved this poem. I enjoyed it because I felt a unity amongst the people in that room, and by posting this video you have extended this unity to include all of us. The focus of the audience doesn't have to be whether there is a heaven or not. The most important thing is that we are not alone even in a room full of strangers. Thank you for posting this Taylor.

I do believe in heaven, but not the one most people think of when you say that word. And that's about all I'll sat about my spiritual beliefs here.

Dear mr. Mali, May I ask, do you really believe in heaven, or do you use this concept poetically? Or do you defy there's a clear distinction?

If you ever made it to NC that would be awesome :)

Write Bloody Books is my publisher, but they have a quirky sense of humor so I love them.

I apparently am one of the confused. What is Write Bloody?
I've seen the on-line store where one can purchases series of books of poetry. Is there something more to it?

that was beautiful, and at the same time i find it disturbing, because i am the youngest in my family and this might happen to me.

I'm not sure I like it. Why must you immediately jump to some sort of afterlife? :(

@sevandyk "Immediately" or at all.
