  • Too bad VGTO is discontinued.

Too bad you didn't do a review about the (1st 2003) TMNT game for Game Boy Advance.

It's okay, but it still doesn't cut it like TMNT: The Arcade Game, TMNT: Turtles in Time(Arcade)/TMNT IV: Turtles in Time (SNES) or even TMNT: The HyperStone Heist.

2003 TMNT for GBA is short, there are 17 levels in all (4 levels for every turtle including 1 vehicle level & a final boss each & the Shredder level which is the only time you can select what turtle you use).

  • byfar one of the most underated games for the GBA!! only 3 beat em up games are underated:

1.Gunstar Super Heroes (*i know not a beat em up but worth mentioning)

    2. TMNT

    3.Star Wars Ep. III

these games are what classic game should be NOW!

  • i still prefer the first tmnt gba game, the one based in the 2003 tv series, made by konami (no confuse whit the second one, battle nexus, that one is kinda boring), but this one is grate too

  • (Continued from the last post.) For the second TMNT game, they need to have a Cement Man and Slash fight as well as a Groundchuck and Dirtbag fight. Twelfth, they need to make longer levels in the game. Thirteenth, they need to make a longer street level and make the sewer level its own stage after lengthening it somewhat, too. I guess other than adding new quotes for the newcomers and such, that would be pretty much what the two TMNT games would need in order to be reinvented right.

  • (Continued from the last post.)

As for the second TMNT game, they need to add Slash, Rocksteady, Bebop, Groundchuck, Dirtbag, Super Shredder, and Tatsu (from the game TMNT: The Hyperstone Heist for the Sega Genesis/MegaDrive) as bosses. Eleventh, make more two on one battles in both games. As for which levels will have them, the Baxter and Dexter fights, Shogun and Chrome Dome ones sound good to me for the first TMNT game. More to come later.

  • (Continued from the last post.)

Seventh, they need to have more breakable objects in the new versions of the games. Eighth, they need more food items besides the pizza, too. As much as I like pizza, I think that the TMNT eat things besides pizza, too, you know. Ninth, the boss stages from the arcade and NES/SNES versions of the first two arcade games need to be combined into two larger games. More on this in another post.

  • (Continued from the last post.)

Tenth, they need to add more bosses to the games. For the first TMNT game, add Tora, Shogun, and the fly form of Baxter Stockman as well as make a sort of mech form of him and also make a mech form of his twin brother Dexter and a flying Mouser machine thingy of him and a fly form of him, too. Also, add Chrome Dome, the Rat King, Fugitoid, and the walker version of Krang as bosses, too. More on this in another post.

  • (Continued from the last post.) Fourth, they need to make the enemies have different sized and colored life gauges, like the old Capcom or SNK beat-em-ups and this rule will also apply to bosses. Fifth, like the game in this video, they need to have the ability to use other weapons besides their default ones. Sixth, like this game and other newer TMNT games (and some moves from the older TMNT arcade games), they need to have more fist and feet based moves like old-school beat-em-ups.

  • You said the music wasn't so good, but if the music you were playing was from the game I liked it a LOT.

  • the GBA game is great but the bad things in it is its 1 player game and only 7 levels and 3 of them Leo ain't playable.

But I`d love to see an arcade game with that graphics and with a 4 player mode, like zelda four swords just tmnt

  • Agreed.

  • After seeing this video I saw this game in the clearance bin of Walmart and decided to buy it. I was not let down and I love that it's a throwback to the classic NES era Turtles games.

    Great video

  • Glad you liked the episode and really glad you enjoyed the game.

That's what the show is all about, helping you find the good ones and avoid the bad ones. :)

  • You know, VideoGameTakeOut, I heard that the two arcade TMNT games were out for the XBox Live, PlayStation Network, and Wii Virtual Console. If they plan on making them over again, here is what they need to do on there. First, they need to style the life guages more like they are in this game. Second, make the "box" that contains the life gauge, points, and such around a Turtle the color of their old life gauges. Third, make the enemies have life gagues, too, including bosses. More later.

  • Learn how to use a VBA(VisualBoy Advance)

  • I would not say this was the last great gba game, the last uderrated true gba game is none other then Spyro eternal night, now to be honest the console games are not as good, but the gba version is fantastic. I tried it and it was a very big shock of how great it was. I thought it was crap but that proved me wrong.

  • I tried Spyro for the GBA but I didn't really love it. I may have to give it another shot but my first impression was that it was just okay.

Thanks for the comment, I'll be sure to take another look at it in the future. :)

  • Your welcome, another try would do it anyway. I would say the only bad thing bout the game was the story, well not bad just confused the hell out of me. but it's still a great game none the less, like you said give it another try.

  • Ben = Badass

    You are my favorite reviewer.

You should be featured on the homepage, that would be sweeeet.

  • By the way, TMNT4: Turtles in time only takes 30min to beat ;)

  • But it's a really awesome 30 minutes that I have played through like 15 times lol

  • Yep, I love it. Still got my SNES hooked up to my TV and got the original TMNT4 game. Just wanted to correct the "3 hours" like you said in the video, and to say that 3 hours for a beat 'em up is pretty long ;)

  • I'm pretty sure I said you could beat it unless than 3 hours. but either way it's good to have a more exact time. I agree that 3 hours is a pretty long beat em up, but a lot of people are disappointed by short games, so I figured it best to bring it up. :)

  • I meant in less than 3 hours. I'm a typo machine today lol

  • aww man, don't tell me you like that walking animation, looks like they crapped their pants :D otherwise a great game that really could've been a gem with co-op link-cable mode!

  • The walk animation is a little strange, but overall the game is pretty killer. :)

  • lol, well I'm kinda sick and I had to record it in a closet because the kids around my apartment where being really loud, so that may have affected it a bit I guess. (strangely I was sick during the other TMNT review too....)

  • Yayyyy! The classic review! :)

  • GREAT GAME!

  • Cool

  • oh snap! I just happen to be playin TNMT 3 for the original gameboy, thanks for the vid man

  • Thanks for another great review! :)

  • Awesome review, I was tempted to get this game, and I may still, would be great to have a little button masher that I can play while I'm waiting between calls at work (w00t for call center). But yeah great reviews and keep up the good work. Damn I wish I had some decent editing software and a decent video card I so wanna do video reviews one of these days.

  • I feel really bad now because I bought both the gamecude AND DS version. There's like 20 copies of the GBA version at my local store, so I might buy it anyway.

  • Boy, that's bad luck. Oh well, you can't win em all. I'll try to keep you on the right track lol

  • Great video I am going to see if my store has a copy of this and I will most likely pick it up. The movie game on the 360 was horrible I mean it seemed like it wasn't even finished with weird graphic glitches. The only thing good about it was the easy achievement points.

  • the sequence in the beginning was really nice. show off them editing skillz, punk!

  • lol, Thanks. Your not too shabby yourself. :)

  • This is a pretty funny trend of GBA games being better than their DS counterparts.

TMNT, Monster House, and I heard the GBA version of Ratatouille was pretty good too.

  • Yeah it's kinda strange, but I guess GBA teams have lower budgets and care more about their product. (at least in these cases, The GBA has some pretty crap games of it's own lol)

  • Woohoo, great review dude.

  • great review dude, but what did you think of the 3D consolie Turtles games?

If you ask me, they blow chunks.

  • I haven't played the newest one (because I heard it was awful) but I player some of the others like Battle Nexus and I didn't like them at all.
