  • I've never heard of a serval killing or maiming a human, so it seems fine to me. The thing is not a lion or tiger.

  • All fine and well. If you know how to care for an exotic pet, props to you. If you know how to repress its natural DNA urges for it to harm you, even better.

BUT I wouldn't want HALF of you that are commenting "omg! how cute, I want one!" to have a servil. You obviously want it for show off purposes...REAL handlers don't react like middle school girls when it comes to wildlife.

And if you HAVE to ask the likelihood of it becoming aggressive, you DON'T need one. Get a house cat and shut up.

  • @jewelbenn

Yeah people who find things cute want them so they can show them off. Get off your high horse and stop being a pretentious douche. I can understand where you're trying to come from but for the most part you sound like a complete tool.

  • OMG he's a baby!!! what a sweet boy :) i cant wait till i get mine!!!

  • What is the likelihood of this animal becoming aggressive and hurting you? Does it not worry you cuz I'm scared to pet even my own cat haha :P

  • you deff just ate cool ranch doritos.....thats why he is loving your hand

  • I admit i don't agree with anyone really owning these as pets,as they are wild. As someone else has said domestic cats /dogs are called that for a reason. Some people would get exotic pets on a whim, and that goes for any. Some circumstances are okay, orphans or injured animals etc. I can see this serval is very healthy and very happy. Unfortunately good owners are often targeted more than bad ones, as they are more likely to put up videos. I still prefer them in the wild (Beautiful Animals)

  • @SankeynMattoon And we apparently read the comment long after. Does that make your dumb ass remarks any less dumb? Do your convictions decay over time gradually? "get a life"! the typical argument for trailer trash idiots who have nothing better to contribute.

Ow and my comment seems to have been made 2 months ago, meaning that YOU have nothing better do to besides commenting back on 2 month old comments.. Incoherently.

You have nothing to say, why would I want to contact you?

  • @SankeynMattoon You mad, bro? :)

  • @TrollingtonSir I believe ladyCasa handed you your ass on a plate with the most graceful of demeanours. I sense only madness in you.

  • @Voxnulla LadyCasa actually did the opposite, good sir. It is quite evident that although she is capable of talking tough online, her self esteem is fragmented due to her disability and tries seeking self validation by attacking any obstacle that forces her to realize she is one step away from being full blown retarded.

Somewhat similar to you. You spend hours attempting to argue with others on youtube not to better anyone, but to stroke your sense of ego. You're the kind of guy

  • @TrollingtonSir that generally enjoys listening to himself talk, and drones on and on with an air of unwarranted superiority. Sir, you are one of many and will die unnoticed like the rest of us. You bore me.

At the very least, I can admit that I'm an egomaniac that gets off manipulating idiots like you to respond to me.

  • @TrollingtonSir Luckily you are not the authority on that.

  • @Voxnulla Authority on what, good sir? Your vague, lukewarm attempts at appearing mystique and all knowing only go so far.

  • @TrollingtonSir On deciding who is the well spoken, polite, argumentative, funny and sensible person and who is the ranting, illiterate, rude, childish scum bag. You or the Lady. You have troll in your screen name for fuck sake. Good choice seeing that the other nearest descriptive screen-name would probably be out of you vocabulary range.

You are intarwebs scum not even man enough to admit to be out-trolled by a Vietnamese girl with a superior grasp of reality and language. Sad!

  • @Voxnulla I absolutely adore you, Voxnulla. Have you really resorted to calling me names? What ever happened to the eloquent individual you portray to be with your 'well thought' arguments? At the very least, try to be accurate with what I am: A filthy, sociopathic scumbag with a penchant for making puppets like you continually fill my lust for responses.

I have already openly admitted I am a troll two posts ago. What of it, ol' chap?

  • @TrollingtonSir I call a spoon a spoon. Would you rather be described and categorized at length with long words containing multiple syllables and accurate, though complex sentences structures and syntax for the sake of being polite? You are anything but polite, so why should anybody else? It would probably just give you a massive headache and how ever tempting that makes such an exercise, I strongly feel that stupidity should not be met with physical punishment.

  • @Voxnulla I did not ask for politeness, I have no idea where you pull these strange assumptions. Although I can easily comprehend anything you feel like dishing out on me,it really seems like you lack basic critical thinking. I suppose this merely reconfirms my theory that you merely enjoy listening to yourself, which may be the only reason why you continue to feed me.

  • @TrollingtonSir Interesting theory bro!

  • @Voxnulla Why thank you!

  • @Voxnulla D: I hate interjecting into an argument, but by replying to him, you're only making him happier. Let's all just ignore the troll, and enjoy the cute kitty video.

  • @MidgieMew And you are a stupid weeabo, from the sounds of your name.

  • @MidgieMew I don't think I am making him very happy. Cute kitties videos are a dish served best with a side order of troll pownage. He's getting angrier and angrier as you can see with the ever decreasing coherency of his feeble rants. Soon he'll do some reversal, multiple posts and other traditional jabs which will make him look like a tit even more.

Also every time he nearly has a coronary ranting away, I get to see cute cat video!

  • Looks tasty, bbq that shit up bitches.

  • @Voxnulla I bet your mother touches you at night.

  • @SankeynMattoon Awwwww cry me a river and drown in it. Boo hoo.

  • Lol, he loooves you

  • That is one beautiful cat.

  • Anyone comparing a Serval to a large domesticated dog obviously do not understand the differences. The dog has been domesticated by man for anywhere up to 30,000 years. They were trained to live and hunt alongside man. It is now embedded in their DNA, which is why Wolves are not practical pets as they are instinctual wild animals.

I am sure this cat is a sweet pet but only for the correct owners. Most people cannot even handle their own dogs, imagine one of those things loose in a major city.

  • @thelaw1984

Obviously you don't want servals running around a city. Not necessarily for the danger they'd pose to humans (no more than a regular cat), but generally they'd roam a larger territory, may kill local cats in fights, etc.

You wouldn't let a big dog roam around freely either. A serval makes a great pet, but only in experienced hands and only to people who have the money and space to build a large outdoor area for the cat, or who live on a farm.

Like a horse, it's not a city pet.

  • Do u need a license for a serval???

  • I would think a serval would make a good pet and act as a "watchdog" because they have large ears to hear people coming and they have loud voices to warn you, "watchcat". BUT you gotta have that license to own one.

  • very cool video

  • I'm guessing the mice/rat population near this guys house is non-existing :)

  • AWWWWW! Really cute!!!

  • That's one lucky kitty! Beautiful

  • oooohh yeah this thing looks SUPER dangerous, cant you just see how much it wants to kill her?????? you're all idiots.

  • Comment removed

  • I want ... I want ...

  • красивая кошка)

  • Hahaha! I love how he keeps trying to play with the camera. So cute! :-)

  • does anyone know what that caged area is behind the serval? Do they need to be enclosed at night or something? I would never get one, I'm just curious

  • @jaymejamjar having worked with servals in a zoo setting, I would be prone to enclose them any time I'm not home. They get into things and are prone to spray a lot (as are any wild cats). They are likely to break things even more than a domestic and get themselves into trouble. Servals are also very hyper at times. I would probably build a large indoor/outdoor run if I wanted one.

  • they are awsome we have 6 cats in total and will one day get a serval once i have the proper enclosure space i have a savannah now who is so attatched to me every time i doze off on the sofa i wake up with him sleeping on my chest see pic.

  • Own a big dog, and it's all cool and normal, own a medium sized cat, and people flip out about "danger" and "that's wild!" Honestly, the world has some issues.

  • @Immad1337 dogs are domesticated, wild/exotic animals are not

  • @colintk2 to get domesticated serval we must start somewhere

  • @Immad1337 That's because you can't fuck a cat....

    easily.

  • @Immad1337 I think it has more to do with medium size dogs being domesticated 10,000 years ago and a medium sized cat still being a wild animal.

  • @emsteffi I don't think you know the difference between the words domestication and evolution.

  • @Immad1337 No I do. I'm just saying that I think that's what people automatically think when you compare the two.

  • @emsteffi Ah, yes. Then that makes perfect sense, you're correct.

  • Must have one hell of a scratching post.

  • Oh no. This animal is obviously being abused. Look at those purrs of... Happiness? Could it be that this animal truly loves its owner? By God I think it is utterly happy!. Quickly trolls troll on. This poor animal is too happy! We need misery!

  • are these legal in canada

  • wow people really have nothing better to do than put down some one with an awesome animal in their house. yes its dangerous, but no one else's business whether person puts their life in danger by an animal that is not that big in the first place where if it went out of control you could easy kick it into a wall and i am pretty sure it would leave you alone. any who! i love this video and is fucking adorable, i want one in the worst way! =D

  • @Nootytube16 You are so right. The cat is gorgeous and looks happy. Now, I 'd not want one at my home - more because of spraying issue (notice tiles on the wall) and activity level than any fear, but if people are OK with it and have right home, it's their buisiness. BTW - I read Servals aren't dangerous at all and were kept as pets for centuries in Africa. I read they are more of a danger to house than people. I've never read of a Serval attack, and they are readily available.

  • he is just divine, wish you could have them in australia

  • @SankeynMattoon As a dyslexic I would ask you to kindly drop dead. As an educated person who spends a lot of time studying and reading I have an large vocabulary but atrocious spelling. People who like to pick at spelling and grammar to make themselves feel special have their own circle of hell reserved.

  • @LadyCasa C: Dyslexics are a genetic abnormality that ought to be wiped from the human population. Do the world a favor and kill yourself and any children you may have.

  • @TrollingtonSir Really getting in touch with you inner Arian aren't you Mr. Troll? It might be interesting to see what sort of recessive traits lurk in your genome that would make you a candidate for the purge you seem to want to start.

  • @LadyCasa Actually, I am Vietnamese my disabled pretty. I know it must hurt having to spend years of your life being told you are inferior because you are dyslexic. Toiling in school for years and struggling with an education system that requires you to perform tasks that you are incapable of.

As much as the Liberal fucktwats would like you to believe that you should be proud, and that you're not less of a person for being dyslexic, you know the real truth. That's why you lash out

  • @LadyCasa No retaliation? Tsk. :I

  • Very cool video, here is my video of a Serval photoshoot I did. Hope you like it?

  • hey is your kitty kat nice to others?

  • What a lazy cat.

  • and how much did this cat cost please answer back, and are from the states.

  • @SankeynMattoon well i have never been able to spell well or do math yet I can completely take apart a Rolex watch and repair it......I do a lot of reading yet the spelling aspect never seemed to catch on. So bad spellers are not always idiots.......could be a form dyslexia, i don't know

  • @inkey2 @SankeynMattoon @Voxnulla @LadyCasa

You're all a bunch of youtube faggots. <3

  • Anyhow, this is a wild non-domesticated animal. I do not think private ownership is a good idea. Look at "BigCatRescue" - they have to clean up the mess after people who owned wild cats but who werent capable of keeping them. It's sad. I'm not saying you can't - I'm just saying that this video might get people to think it's "cute" and a "good idea" to have such an animal when it's not.

  • @jakobole I'd not trust BigCatRescue, they have an agenda, and not objective. I am a completely neutral observers - I own a simple domestic cat from a shelter and would never consider even an F1-F4 hybrid, so when I started reading it was from a completely open-minded position. But the more I read the less I trusted BCR. I saw clear lies from them, especially about hybrids, but when one is caught on a lie, one loses credibility. From what I read Servals have been kept as pets for centuries.

  • D'awwwwwwwwwwwww............

  • i want one *_* hahaha! cute

  • Beautiful cat! I would love to devote my time to animals like this once I retire and have the time.

  • He's huge!!

  • purrrrness.

  • Awwwwwww, he looks and sounds like such a happy kitty!

  • Does any one else have this problem when ure petting ure cat they r purring but after 3 minutes or so they bite u but they still purring

  • @lightning506 They're either playfighting, annoyed, or psychotic (we had a psycho cat who used to purr one moment then punch you and claw at you and hiss the next) Your's is probably not crazy!

  • @lightning506 It's normal. They get over-exited. A hypothesis is that the area of the brain that's responsible for feeling "joyfull" is next to the area responsible for hunting. When they get over-exited, signals from the "joy-center" spills over to the "hunt"-center, thus triggering a respons. Look fot the tell-tale signs : Whisker pointing allmost forward, tail whipping etc etc. If that happens, leave it be for a minute, then you can continue.

  • Are the legal in Canada?

  • My cat (a bit smaller than this one) licks my hand, too. Would life be worth living without felines?

  • @battywattywoo no :)

  • On the other hand, I wouldn't remove any of his claws.

  • Can you roughhouse with him, or will you get ripped open? It would be tough for me to have a cat I couldn't play with.

  • Beautiful video

I really like it. :) Great job!

  • she is like fucking paparazzis xD

  • I've been following your website for a while now, and I'm glad I finally get to see the famed Sirocco. He's a great animal, and you've done a great job with him. Keep up the good work!

  • He's soooo cute, and that purr is almost defeaning, I'd love to pet a Serval and have him actually lick my hand instead of biting it off..lol

  • Aww what a lovely Serval, he's so affectionate!

Question: I am interested in getting a Serval as well (sometime in the future) and I would like to know what you are feeding him...

How did you go about getting a license ?

  • oh my goodness... where do you get them?

    It's really beautiful!

  • May i know how much did you get it for?

  • I absolutely adore his purr. I couldn't handle living with a serval, though. They need a bit more than I can provide. Maybe I can just visit and love on someone else's. ;)

  • Oops forgot to add another name in there so @Bluggardpirate you might wanna check out the comments.

  • @379Unbreakable You're a bit of an arrogant hypocrite for delving into their little debate and chastizing them, don't you think? You act like you're better than those blokes, but you necro'd a several month old topic that was dead and done with. Perhaps you should step off your high horse and realize you're psuedo superiority is as see through as your "mini novel."

And no, I'm not above ignoring pointless youtube topics such as these. I will be the first to admit it.

  • He is such a beauty.

His head and paws is huge! haha.

  • Sandpaper attack!

  • do you consider a wild cat as a good pet? cuz i want one but i have to consider the pros and the consequences

    :D

  • Do these cats meow or no just curious

  • awwwww cute!

  • Big. Cat. Tongue.

    Hehe!

  • Dude that's a beautiful serval you have there, have ever been attacked by it?

  • @SankeynMattoon IQ and Intelligence are different things. The idea of measurement by IQ is ludicrous, also readying, and studying should not change your IQ, you should have pretty much the same IQ for a lifetime.

  • All this talk of I.Q. and being smart, kind of annoys me. As I can admit i have nothing better to do with my time because it's 2 in the morning and I'm bored, let me just clear some things up. You are very right, I.Q. Is not determined by how much you study, but also you are very wrong, because if he was using his I.Q. he would have used it on a more... Tasteful, conversation.(I'm just getting started, there's more) @skechmasters @SankeynMattoon @NormlTrevr

  • 2) Servals are not classified as "Big Cats" but they are however, classified as "Wild Animals". 3)...Why would you use wikipedia as a reference? Never do that! Use the links at the bottom, and if there aren't any, it's pretty much bullshit. Okay? and last but not least 4) Why would you verbally attack such a cute animal, after she clearly said that she owns the cat for educational purposes, and has a license? @NormlTrevr . @skechmasters @SankeynMattoon

  • Grow up guys and if you really feel the need to debate a pointless topic, Join Debate, Public Speaking, or Current Issues. Plenty of choices! Pick one. @skechmasters @SankeynMattoon @NormlTrevr

  • @379Unbreakable I'm not debating, I'm correcting :)

  • Comment removed

  • @379Unbreakable 1) I insinuated that grammar is correlative of IQ as a joke. I never said IQ is a function of grammar nor did I engage in an IQ debate. 2) Servals do not classify as "Wild Animals" if they are captively bred. 3) I thought people intelligent enough to get on wikipedia and see for themselves. 4) He was attacking the owner, not the animal, which is why I engaged him in debate. Thank you for swooping in on a dead conversation and straw-manning my arguments as "pointless."

  • @Bluggardpirate I agree that they should, but I do not agree that it makes it right others should own these pets

  • @AquaPearl10 What qualifications do "others" have? I believe this is not cut and dry - certainly not as cut and dry as BCR purports. Owning a serval is relatively easy, at least compared to being a parent, and really can be done effectively in rural and suburban environments. Owning a large feline is, obviously, much more intensive, but what if I have more land, enrichment, and treatment for snow leopards than BCR? Is it wrong just because they are a "refuge" and I'm just an "owner?"

  • @AquaPearl10 We (humanity in general) need to get away from maxims and absolutes about exotic/wild animals and embrace caring for them wherever they are, in captivity (privately owned or otherwise) and in the wild.

  • @Bluggardpirate Uh huh, and if that cat has health problems with say its pelvic bones, and doesn't have the ability to breed. Would you STILL breed the poor thing? If so, you could possibly endanger the mother AND cubs

  • @AquaPearl10 No, but BCR has a strict no breed policy regardless of health and they have had more than one snow leopard. They have a wonderful opportunity with all their endangered animals, but squander it. There are good recues out there, but BCR is not one of them.

  • ...LOL yor sheets matches the cats fur :)

  • Hi. I may consider getting one wayyyyy down the line, with outdoor enclosure. Does he spray a lot and if they have a lot of outdoor access can that help to differ them from spraying indoors?

  • did somebody leave their Harley running...?

    oh thats the cat XD

  • Would you recommend for first time Serval owners , getting a male serval kitten ? instead of a female, since they go into heat, can get aggressive etc.

  • AWWWWWWW!

  • I'm sorry, but I'm a BCR kinda person. I find it a jack ass move for ANYONE to own a big cat

  • @AquaPearl10 Good thing this is not a big cat.

  • @AquaPearl10 I'm sorry, I'm not a BCR kinda person. I find it a jack ass move for anyone who owns endangered big cats to NOT breed them. Thanks BCR, you could be helping the snow leopard, but instead you're just going to let them die out.

  • i think Mr. Serval wants to make a video w/ ur camera

  • Whats the fence around your bed area? I don't believe in the exotic pet trade, but your serval seems to be really well taken care of and I can tell you two love each other very much. He seems happy. :) I would love to be this close (emotionally) to such a magestic creature! I wish you guys the best... !

  • frrrrrrrrrrr

  • wonderfull!

  • personally id like to thank you, the information you have made available was vital several years ago when i was stll inexperienced with the small cats. since then i personally took in a pair of rescue caracals and a facility i help has been able to take in 7 servals. have worked with the large and medium cats for years prior but without your help i hate the thought of where they would be today.

    thanks

    kc

  • I miss my serval so much!

  • @skechmasters

Servals don't classify as big cats and are about the size of a medium dog. Also, if you look at some of the posters previous comments, will you see that she does indeed have an outdoor enclosure for the pet. She's not a dumb ass - she's actually a very informed private owner who has dedicated a lot of time to make sure other owners take proper care of their exotics. We can, however, extrapolate your relative IQ from the extensive utilization of CAPs - low.

  • @Bluggardpirate And your point is what, Aaaaaaa your point is you have no life but going on youtbe a correcting people. so what if i use caps your the one with no intelect because you lack seening that a Cat Larger Than Domestic Cats is Considered a BIG CAT you fucking goof. Two My IQ has nothing to do with Spelling, and Sentences, And Also I think I would Know What I am Talking about becasue i Have My Masters In Zoology.

  • @skechmasters

No, a big cat is considered one that can roar, not just any that is bigger than any domestic cat, as I'm sure you know that there are many variations of sizes even in domestic breeds. And my point in correcting you is because you are being unduly cruel and harsh to someone when you are being ignorant. Apparently, your "masters" in zoology hasn't bought you a lick of common sense or forethought.

  • @Bluggardpirate then i guess Mountian Lions don't count either just becasue a larger feline Roar's doesn't have anything to do with it dumb ass, Mountian lions hiss, growel, and purr sooooo do servals there the only large cats that do no even bob cats and lynx purr and there half the size of cougars, and considered big cats too why? Becasue big cats Hunt larger Prey then them selfs your not going to see a tabby cat eating a dog, children or even Deer but a serval, bobcar and lynx would !

  • @skechmasters To quote wikipedia: "One definition of "big cat" includes the four members of the genus Panthera: the tiger, lion, jaguar, and leopard. Members of this genus are the only cats able to roar. A more expansive definition of "big cat" also includes the cheetah, snow leopard, clouded leopard, and cougar." This does not include your definition, as many can attest to their house cats hunting larger prey than themselves. But, I guess you know better with your masters in zoology.

  • He's beautiful! I can't wait to see more videos of Sirocco! I've been to your website lots of times to do research. I'm planning on owning one and your website has been a big help in understanding them. I've been to your Breeder's page but some of the websites given don't work.. maybe it's my computer. Do you know of any breeders in Texas?? Thank you very much, I really appreciate it.

  • I am a big fan of your website, even though I am 14, I know that someday (far faaaaaaaar off when I have enough money to build enclosures, afford vetcare, feed meat, serval proof the house and get the serval) I would like to own a cat like Sirocco. I really love to read about your personal experience with him. And I hope that someday you get that caracal. Or win the lottery so you can get the mountain lion you mentioned. Geez, I sound like some fangirl

  • What kind of food do they need, and what other special needs do these lovely felines require?

  • People say that all wild cats don't make good pets, but the Ancient Egyptians had them, and they were imported to the U.S. from Europe as early as the early 1900's. They are more domesticated than a lot of the other exotic pets in the pet trade.

  • @SlenderTroll In reference to Servals- not other wild cats.

  • i would love to have a serval or an ocelot. where did you get him?

  • Serval -.....camera....tooouchh....!!

  • how much did you payed for it? O_o

  • ITS LIKE A FREAKIN COUGAR!

  • hey, i went to your website because i am very interested in getting on of these beautiful cats. one of my dreams was to always have a pet tiger or cheetah, but that itsnt possible, and i really want to get a serval.

  • its SO FLUFFEH!!! :DDD

  • You have TWO hands, mommy. Put down the camera and use both! =^[.]^=

  • * I personally wouldn't own a serval without access to an outdoor enclosure. Some people have probably done it successfully, but Sirocco would go nuts without one. There are some very mellow servals out there, but you can't count on yours growing up to be one of them. Sirocco is very, very active, intelligent, and can be a house-wrecker when bored or cooped up. For him, a fairly large outdoor space with toys and other interesting things is a must.

  • @ExoticCatz Oh, this is Sirocco?! I've read your articles all over the place. If you are that woman, and I haven't mistaken you for someone else, thank you for all the great information. I'm currently beginning to look into owning a Serval. I'm in college right now, and I wouldn't think of getting one until I was well established after school with a house and a proper outside enclosure. For now I'm just reading everything I can get my hands on.

  • @ExoticCatz how much does it cost to build i large sized outdoor space?

  • @ExoticCatz Hi. I may consider getting one wayyyyy down the line, with outdoor enclosure. Does he spray a lot and if they have a lot of outdoor access can that help to differ them from spraying indoors?

  • @ExoticCatz You provide the most accurate info about Servals. I am babysitting 4 and all you have said is right on the money. Thanks for the video. I love his purring and his decision to mess with your camera.

  • To answer some more questions.....

    * I wouldn't really call servals dog-like. They ARE intensely loyal and form an incredibly close bond. However, they are very much a feline. I find that walking him is much like walking any other cat, only with higher octane. He does enjoy it, but is easily scared by things he's unfamiliar with and doesn't lead well.

  • best video of a serval on here :)

I am so determined to get one! BUt I need a permit :(

  • What a beautiful creature! I am a life time cat lover and have never seen or heard of this breed before. I think he wants your camera hand on him instead of the camera!

  • Comment removed

  • @MozelleP2V ....You've never seen this "breed" cuz they are wild animals! I went nuts for the Serval i saw at the zoo last year, and i had no idea people kept them as pets. This is pretty much the greatest thing i've ever seen...But i hope people are listening to ExoticCatz and don't take it lightly....We've all seen these idiots that buy tigers for pets and it ends in a tragedy...
