As for making his kit too electronic, apparently what he was doing at this time was learning to play electronic programmed drum parts live. So yeah it's very electronic but intentionally. :)

@Bosphorus92 It's his style, and Jojo has his own sound. Johnny Rabb is pretty damn awesome. And that's one of his trademarks is that he can make his set sound like an e-kit. KJ Sawka is also amazing. I think even better than kc & jojo mayer.

They are Meinl Generation X

It's called a Drumbal. Johnny worked with Meinl to design it. Gives your drums that good old 808 kinda sound.
