Great music comes from should come from writing and composing from the heart and not from the critiques of the fans or music critics. James is right and imo the new metal music that had came out is great (ex Between the buried and me, mastodon, As blood runs black, etc) Old metal is old metal and will always be there but music is always ever evolving. I love these guys to pieces, but what happened after the Black album?!? It seems to me that they've gotten repetitive and, dare I say, a little soft on some of their stuff. The ballads they have now aren't like "Nothing Else Matters" (that's my jam!), and there's something missing, IMO.

Metallica started doing worse in Load and continued to do so to St. Anger. I also think that although Death Magnetic wasn't another Master of Puppets or Ride The Lightning it was a step in the right direction and that a tenth album would be better than Death Magnetic.

Nro.1 Mustaine was kicked out Nro 2.Cliff died. The biggest reasons why metallica has changed. I think Cliffs death influenced them so much that returning to kill em all, ride the lightning, master kind of vibe was impossible. Jason was never a good songwriter but cliff was. Mustaine maybe had a better trash sound than Kirk. AND he also was a gifted songwriter or still is.
they never let jason takes his place in the writing process, even hammet wasn't inlcuded 'till st anger, it is being said in the some kinf of monster documentary. Jason is a very good songwriter, just listen to the work he did with Voivod (a band from quebec, canada)

Great music comes from should come from writing and composing from the heart and not from the critiques of the fans or music critics. James is right and imo the new metal music that had came out is great (ex Between the buried and me, mastodon, As blood runs black, etc) Old metal is old metal and will always be there but music is always ever evolving. I'm passed the phase where i thought iron maiden and other old metal bands were the only bands that existed in my high school years. (grad 2007)

"seeing the good in things" , yes, its probably easy to see the good in things when you have 50 million in the bank. this is really telling. he is basically saying that when you have everything, it is easy to get comfortable. if their music has suffered, its because they have reached the pinnacle of success and what is there left to achieve? nothing they do from this point on will have the same impact of master of puppets. they are past their prime. it is soo fucking sad

I love these guys to pieces, but what happened after the Black album?!? It seems to me that they've gotten repetitive and, dare I say, a little soft on some of their stuff. The ballads they have now aren't like "Nothing Else Matters" (that's my jam!), and there's something missing, IMO.

i dunno, AJFA was a pretty good album, plus cliff wasn't just a bass player in a thrash band, he was a musician, he played for the soul of music, i think they might of still changed and experimented but we will never know.

Metallica started doing worse in Load and continued to do so to St. Anger. I also think that although Death Magnetic wasn't another Master of Puppets or Ride The Lightning it was a step in the right direction and that a tenth album would be better than Death Magnetic.
I AM NOT DISRESPECTING LOAD, RELOAD, ST. ANGER. THOSE WERE SIMPLY NOT AS GOOD AS THE ALBUMS THEY WROTE WHEN THEY WERE IN THEIR TWENTIES.

Death Magnetic took an unexpected turn twords their roots and brought back the thrash. At least, that's MY voice

Nro.1 Mustaine was kicked out Nro 2.Cliff died. The biggest reasons why metallica has changed. I think Cliffs death influenced them so much that returning to kill em all, ride the lightning, master kind of vibe was impossible. Jason was never a good songwriter but cliff was. Mustaine maybe had a better trash sound than Kirk. AND he also was a gifted songwriter or still is.

they never let jason takes his place in the writing process, even hammet wasn't inlcuded 'till st anger, it is being said in the some kinf of monster documentary. Jason is a very good songwriter, just listen to the work he did with Voivod (a band from quebec, canada)
