Glad I found this video! At Camp Casey the DZ was the golf field. The Korean nationals would make it a family trip watching crazy GI parachute. Thanks for bringing back the memories.
Nice! I was in the Green Beret Sport Parachute Club at Bragg in 1994. Those were the days! They have since disbanded all the MWR Parachute clubs in the states as of last year as far as I know. Sad to see them go, maybe they will reactivate them someday.
We did it through the MWR. All of the equipment (chutes) were up at Casey. We got aviation unit people involved so they would volunteer their time and unit commanders let us use their aircraft and hangers (at Humphreys).
@swcx3 I know this is a long time ago, but im stationed at the humps currently 3/2 aviation, I will find a way to do this again if you can point me in the right direction, MWR? whos rigs? Camp stanley? again whos rigs... who instructed... or was it fun jumpers already licensed? thats cool too, but I must find a way to bring this back, would really help the morale of some altitude addicts over here new
@atrain910 Yea it was great for morale. The rigs were owned by MWR and kept at Stanley. Most of us earned our licenses during the program. The program was taught by volunteers who were all active duty and either free fall guys or weekend divers back in the states. Good luck.
@xchinookfe well it took long enough but I finally became a member of the KPA and am now part if a drop zone that jumps from namwon and mitsuree near seoul, so for all you non believers.... I am skydiving in Korea! ha ha ha ha ha ha ha oh and thanks for the encouragement xchinookfe, by the way-ch47s suck big balls! DRAGONS
@atrain910 Nice job, way to stay with it. Now save some bucks buy your own rig and keep it up. I let life get in the way and I haven't done it in years, and if I could I'd skydive to work everyday. Also remember, Hooks are the only thing big enough to have big balls! Innkeeper. I don't know what your plans are, but if you've ever though about getting out and learning to fly helicopters, look up guidancehelicopters. It's where I work, and your Post 911 GI bill will cover the costs.

We used to jump at Raeford Skydive Center, unless we had a C-130 then it was Moore County Airport near Spring Lake.

I was at Bragg around that time as well, but I missed the chance to jump out there (can't remember the name of the airfield).
