I once read something about releasing a bird from a cage.. and if the bird returns, then it was meant to be, but if the bird doesn't come back, there wasn't really anything there anyway. While I agree that there isn't much country music out there these days like this there are still awesome, different voices in country music still. Reba McIntire, Martina McBride, Sara Evans....While it may not be the same country music there is still much of it that is great and certainly worth listening to.
This is my absolute favorite Tanya Tucker song. She's really a cool person. My favorite country memory is seeing her in concert after the birth of Presley. Standing in line for an autograph some nut behind me kept saying Tanya would only sign and not answer any questions. I bet him 20 bucks I could get her to talk to me. He took the bet and when I got up to her I simply asked, "Tanya how's that beautiful new baby?" I talked to her for 15 min about being a new mom while she kept signing.
this is a heart breaker, but I lived through an experience like it, turns out it was the best thing that ever happened to me, I got on with the rest of my life, remarried a great guy, he passed away last year but we had 11 years together and never worried if the other was cheating, I'm trying my hand at writing country songs now, so wish me luck. Today's country has lost the pain that used to be associated with it. I used to have a cd with "Save Me" on it, but I don't know what happened to it! That was such a good song, but I think everything she sings is good, lol.
I used to have a greatest hits compilation with it on it but I too seem to have misplaced it. It is unfortunate that country music never really appreciated her and especially since the late 80s and early 90s. George Strait and Alan Jackson are fortunate that their music is still played.

So damn true...I can give many examples of this even when the stations around here with their new song contests would see her when a couple weeks in a row...there were personal problems they held against her early in her career and then country music later decided they had enough traditional country type singers and wanted to draw in more younger audience

Today's country has lost the pain that used to be associated with it. I can listen to all the old tear-jerkers including this little chop buster and walk away smiling like some fool, because the feelings were real in every word they resonated, today's artists have lost sight of what country meant to many generations before the likes of Taylor Swift, who is talented but needs the guidance and life experience to hone her craft.

I used to have a cd with "Save Me" on it, but I don't know what happened to it! That was such a good song, but I think everything she sings is good, lol.

I used to have a greatest hits compilation with it on it but I too seem to have misplaced it. It is unfortunate that country music never really appreciated her and especially since the late 80s and early 90s. George Strait and Alan Jackson are fortunate that their music is still played.

I used to listen to country music before it was polluted by so-called "singers." However, I did see TT in concert with my late mom when I was a teen and it's still one of the best shows I've ever seen!
This song always got to my mom because she went through the same that this song talks about and never got over it.

It's funny. My childhood bestfriends sister ended up with H.P. An ex of Tanya's....unfortunately the closest I got to her was answering the phone when she called Twila....I am 43 and I believe the first non sunday school song I ever sang was Delta Dawn...Tanya can rip my guts out and I love her deeply and appreciate her entire body of work so much. She is worth her weight in liquid gold (tears) Thanks for this channel.....I wish there were a thousand more!

So damn true...I can give many examples of this even when the stations around here with their new song contests would see her when a couple weeks in a row...there were personal problems they held against her early in her career and then country music later decided they had enough traditional country type singers and wanted to draw in more younger audience
