  • Sometimes, when I find myself about to have a "Lord Have Mercy" moment, instead of saying that, I would say Kyrie Eleison (and then I would start singing the chorus of this song). Good times, good song.

  • Thank god I grew up in the 80s and witnessed all these great artists! Classic video!

  • Whay would you carry a laser down the road you must travel. That's just looking for trouble.

  • A truly incredible performance, and a powerbomb of a song ... I could handle the chorus another 10 times ... LUV IT !

  • love this song but what are they saying? kyrie & days?kyrie & basil?

  • @SNAKEEYESSAM Its Latin for Lord be with me. I cant spell it proper

  • @SNAKEEYESSAM Kyrie eleison, its Greek for Lord have mercy

  • Saw these guys open up for Tina Turner's "Private Dancer" Tour in 1985. They put on a great show. Wish they would have stayed around longer,

  • €10 for the first person who can make out 30 seconds of the lyrics without google-ing...

  • Very very Nostalgic for me!!!. Was in High school when this song came out!.

  • @36midnight for me too

  • i named my daughter kyria just because of this song

  • Whoo! I could not get this tune out of my head.

  • Painfuly beautiful song...and they look just amazing full of good vibes!

  • Great tune then, and even better now.

  • Actually the Meaning ; Kyrie Elasian = God Bless My Soul ! So in translation what he is Singing is:

"God Bless My Soul on the Road That I Must Travel"

  • @wtibbs21 Actually it is "Lord Have Mercy" on the road that I must travel

  • @NoFaithNoPain In the Greek form ,Yes ,But Richard Page writer/vocalist/bassist of the band Mr.Mister in the summer of 1985 in Daytona Beach when addressing the audience stated that the song,/his song Kyrie Elasian meant,"God Bless My Soul On The Road That I Must Travel. I was at that show as a backstage sound tech!

    Blessings,W

  • I always thought they were saying "Carry a lazer".

  • This is my ALL-TIME FAVORITE song of the 80's

  • Just hold tight...another era of optimism is on its way. Just like the 80s pulled us out of the 70s, we're due for a period of optimism that will snap us out of our current funk. Can't. Freaking. Wait!

  • Kyrie eleison = Lord, have mercy on us

  • I wish I could go back to the 80s and watch 80s music again. Miss watching Video Hits and Good Rockin' Tonight.

  • If someone invented a time machine the Back to the 80's pod would be packed!!!!!!

  • Love this song! It's the kind of song you want to crank up the volume up to full.

  • Every time I hear some kid asking "What's Train talking about when they say Mr. Mister's on the radio?", I die a little inside. *sigh*

  • 3/3/86 :)) thnx Facebook app lol

  • It seems like I'm not the only one who is here because of a facebook app lol.

  • #1 song on the day i was born 2-28-1986

  • I used to call them the new Police with Mr Mister.

  • Oh my God, this drummer kicks ass. You must notice there are only 4 of them, and the harmonies are excellent. This was a great band.

  • Great Band for this time

  • One of the reasons I bought the "Welcome To The Real World" was because of this song.

  • Lord Have Mercy

  • Cheerios lays on the road that I must travel, yummie!

  • Kyrie= Lord Eleison= Have mercy. This song is a prayer to God.

  • @counselor2be I agree with a small difference eleison can also stand for "help us" not the literal meaning though

  • My name comes from this song. Love this song.

  • 90 people have Bieber Fever

  • Not often a liturgical phrase from 13th century Greek, translated into Latin later by the Roman Catholic Church is the title to a hit song!

  • Ok Now! Mr. Mister is one of the greatest bands to come out in the 80's! This album was just top knotch! I fell in love with it the moment I heard it, played the crap out of that cassette back then, and still love this CD now just as I did as a teen! This is one of those kind of albums that just sticks with you! It is totally awesome from beginning to ending! Not one bad song on there, not one! It is just too bad this band didnt stick around alot longer. They were one of the best of the 80's!:-)

  • I'm no believer, but i believe in the song. Must be in my top 10 of songs

  • My God..... My generation seriously has no idea what it's missing. It's the saddest shit ever. Poor pitiful souls. Pitiful. This song is the most amazing ever.

  • I was born in 86' and I WAS listening to this band during high school. People.... The first 33 seconds of this song may in fact be the most beautiful thing musically any of us will ever hear. Seriously the power and that sound in the background. And It reminds me of my stereo and high school and how I would put this song on repeat. it's just an amazing song.

  • esto era musica lo mejor los 80

  • Tim Tebow was here

  • This intro is killing me !!!

  • I was about 18 when this was released, my favourite of that year. I take no notice of the charts anymore - it's so full of garbage. There was a fair share of garbage even back then though - remember Sinitta and So Macho and Toy boy, and Sabrina and so on. Awful beyond words.

  • GReat to see with all these comments 80s music is till alive. Think will always be. Great song!

  • Are you seriously trying to tell me THAT many people actually "dislike" this song?

    i don't buy it.

i say that's just some trolling...

  • A favourite of mine from the 1980s. The beginning still gives me goose pimples.

'Κύριε ελέησον' or Lord have pity on us is taken from the Greek Orthodox and Catholic chants.

  • I would kill for this to be my birthday song... Ungrateful people........

  • I am 2 yrs old, I would just like to say that I absolutely love this song. It reminds me of a great time in my life.

  • Kyrie, a transliteration of Greek κύριε (kyrie), vocative case of κύριος (kyrios), meaning "Lord", is the common name of an important prayer of Christian liturgy, which is also called the Kýrie, eléison (Greek, Κύριε, ἐλέησον, for "Lord, have mercy").

  • I may only be 15 but i absolutely love this song. If this song comes on my dads iPod in the car, once it finished he would play it again, that is how much he loves it

  • Kyrie Eleison "Lord,have mercy "

    watch?v=ysNd4QGOgeY

  • Kyrie Eleison means "Lord, have mercy" and in some beliefs it means Lord, pour out on us."

It's greek. Open yourself and let it pour out.

  • Awesome song!!

  • nope not a gospel song.

  • it is a song very beautiful of the 80s may i make a quiestion please ? is it a gospel song ? some body aswer me ,please. i dont know

  • @verticalday the kyrie is a part of the catholic mass, but this obviously is not the same thing, so I guess you could say it alludes to a gospel song.

  • @verticalday well idk if i would call it gospel but Richard Page did say the song was written as a prayer.....

  • @shanerjosie123 The fact that you did not even state my error makes it evident you have obviously no clue about the topic at hand.

  • to the 88 dislikes go home and stay home....and be sour

  • I had almost forgotten this song, although it is definitely one of my favorites. Great voice and he looks great too.

  • The Nine Billion names of God. Whatever happened to letting others worship 'the one who made us all' in their own way and their own rite what ever that may be and whatever name they use.

  • Mr Mister one of my favorites I grew up in the 80s I like this type of music

  • In words of Bart Simpson, "It's all Christianity, man!" And the sooner we realize that and stop fighting amongst ourselves, the sooner we can read the billions that still need to hear to gospel.

  • 80´s ... brings back memories

  • @DNoybn To set things straight, there is no evidence of the Roman Catholic Church being fully from Christ. The evidence in fact points against it, by one example being that some of the so-called Apocryphal books that are accepted by Catholics actually contradict other scripture, as well as containing numerous historical errors. A lot of Catholic practices go against scripture itself as well. U speak of Protestants having to do research, do your own. Read the bible, compare verses. God bless :)

  • @TheChilledNorwegian Do not speak of that which you obviously know nothing about

  • Beautiful song! Im just 17 buth this is defenitaly my favorite!
