When my kids were small they would want this song played over and over. I think we finally wore out the tape we had. Glenn and George will truly be missed but never forgotten.
Goodbye George Younce! You may not have gotten as much press as the loquacious mime Michael Jackson, but you certainly contributed more. Rest in peace.
Just an F.Y.I. - The voice for Tony the Tiger was actually performed by the same person who sang "You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch". That gentleman was the late Thurl Ravenscroft who actually recorded a Gospel album in the 1970's. He actually did a bit of naration to lead into the songs. As you may imagine, It's GRRRREAT!! ;-)
I saw them In concert when I was about 10 years old. I remember taking long family trips and the Cathedrals would be in the tape player for hours on end. LOL, What I wouldn't give to have those times back :)
I'm glad called me to preach, because I can't sing. I have recently had to retire from my secular job of teaching due to cancer and the days I will have to miss. I believe God is going to give me a full healing.
When I get to Heaven, I'm gonna grab me a pretty choir robe and stand next to Glen and George and sing praises as loudly as I can!!!!
This performance is on two different videos, both by the Gaither label. It's on "The Best of the Cathedrals" and "The Cathedral Quartet: 50 Faithful Years". Hope that helps!
What a classic! I love Ernie's face each time he sang his "moo ooh ooh ooh vin'" part! I have this cd "The Best of the Cathedrals", so I didn't get the interviews with the group, but I still have the songs! I LOVE the Cathedrals!
I just love this song! I love music, thou i didn`t study it in school too much but i can feel the tune and i just love listening to high class music! I LOVE THIS SONG!
Que bueno eran los Cathedrals, son un cuarteto por el cual hubiera viajado a Estados Unidos, Lastima que ya no están pero quedan estos videos que nos los recuerdan

A great gospel song! This version is funny and cheerful, but without Kirk Talley doing the "hooing", it is just a caricature of the original.

This was my favorite southern gospel song as a kid -- and it still is. I always tried to go as low as George, and that made me the bass I am today.
