The CPU is better than the Atom, The Hard Drive in the Mininote is 5400RPM and has a 8MB Cache which makes the boot slow. Ubuntu isn't the fastest booting OS either, slower than Vista infact. I sold my EEE(401) for the Mininote and I was very very happy- It has a 120GB hard drive and allows me to have a partition with Nlited XP(200MB for Remote Desktop at the Office), one for Ubuntu and one for Xubuntu. Xubuntu boots much faster than the regular Ubuntu try that if your annoyed by long boot times
Is that in $ or £ cos I might get one of those instead.
My parents said they would give me a SMALL amount of money to put towards a laptop for sixth form and I won't to see if I can buy one without spending any of my own money.
muy bueno, me encanta el ubuntu

what driver do you use for the hp 2133?
bozzatos94 1 year ago
you cant compare the drives of two completely different laptops unless the CPU is better etc. Stupid.

Benchmark hint for HP 2133:
disable 4 seconds delay for network boot at BIOS.

It does not make the Mini-Note the clear winner. The Mini-Note's performance is pretty awful.

Very nice comparison!
victors3200898 3 years ago
slightly faster, but the bigger keyboard and big hard drive make the hp the clear winner
johnmonk66 3 years ago
Unless you count price.
Which I don't know but I *think* the eeePC 900 is cheaper.
Am I right but yes if you could afford it I would go for the hp.
Although I would want to support the eeePC as they are the first mainstream laptop to be shiped with linux pre-intalled.

That's not bad that's about £275 UK

the hp comes with linux preinstalled too, and if you up the specs on the asus to equal the specs on the hp, the asus is more expensive
