  • Hi Can any body help pleaseI need A stylus for this model thats Hitachi HT354.My E mail address is gantan@onvol.net

  • Hey What Do You Have The Green Wire By the Power Cord Connected To? I Have A HT324 and want to clarify what the wire goes to

  • @crazykid25 You have to connect this wire to the "Ground" of your amplifier.

  • Тёплые ламповые потрескивания... Так приятно.

Unfortunately, if the damage had been done already on your old records, no amount of tweaking and adjustments and not even the highest end phono pickup may improve the sound.

But, at least, if you're not having the same problems with vinyl in better condition, you know your rig is set up correctly.

Nice. Though, does the table still have problems with IGD? Not suggesting that Baerwald may not be right, but wondering if there could be other causes of IGD for your turntable.

Reading through one post, you said that some IGD occurs with some lesser quality records. I wonder if it is possible that the IGD cannot be avoided due to lower quality pressing which might be due to the use of lower grade vinyl?

Overhang can be adjusted with an alignment protractor.

A Stevenson overhang may be recommended for the Hitachi turntable on this video as most Japanese turntables seem to respond well to that alignment. However, you may need to experiment with different alignments on your Unitra; it may work with a Stevenson or a Baerwald may be best.

Proper overhang can help to reduce IGD as you'll reduce tracking error outside the inner and outer null points indicated on the protractor.

Don't forget vertical tracking angle, stylus rake angle and overhang.

More or less, the tonearm should be level with the platter when the stylus is in the groove. That may roughly help with the angles.

  • Yes, I know this. :) It's inevitable. But if the record and cartridge are good, there is no problem.

  • If the records is good, there will be no distortion.

  • What would be your cart of choice to avoid IGD?

  • And how hard is it to align this cartridge? It took a lot of time?

  • no.

  • hi, do you get a lot of inner groove distortion with this model of cartridge?

  • maniak
