I have same guitar and amp as you, kinda wondering what settings you have it set to, I am getting close but it still seems to be off a bit.

For the clean channel, I have it in "Crunch" mode and the gain knob in that mode is SUPER touchy, is it that way for yours too?

yeah it is real touchy, i dont have a pedal board, i use a boss ME-50 and try to mostly use it to try to get the sound. I have noticed that the gain isnt as touchy if you don't have it in crunch tho.

Ok, just making sure that my amp wasn't just defective or something. My tone comes completely from the amp (it's altered maybe just a little bit by Boss CS-3). I just keep the clean channel in crunch mode with the gain knob down way low, if it ever gets bumped or anything I always have to fiddle with it until I get the right sound again. For the distortion channel, I have the gain and contour knobs at 12 o'clock and that combination seems to provide a nice contrast between the 2 channels.

No, he really doesn't. I don't know where everybody got the idea that he does, but I've both seen him play this song live in person and asked him myself what tuning this song is in, and it is played in standard tuning.
