Thanks for creating this -- a good overview of the electronic instruments favored in commercial music.
I bought a Korg M1 in 1988 and worked with it for many years. As with many so-called sample playback instruments, a new *waveform* must be imported via card slot. However, the M1 allows use of one or two wave samples as "oscillators," and it has filters, envelopes, mixers, etc., much like an analog synth, so the built-in waves can be shaped somewhat into new sounds, in much the same way.
Wooooooow, music instruments It's such a beautiful science.I'm a musician and I like only synth keyboard because I like to make trance music only, thank you 4 uploading this Great video and 4 this info about these old to new beautiful keyboards. :)
WTF? Je parle anglais, seulement. Traduisez-s'il vous plaît. I'd love to know what they have to say here, but my limited language studies were done 30 years ago so I'm in that category where french people speak way over my head while I sit embaassed at being a dumb American when so many people that are mistreated in my country for their same limited skills in English, are also disrespected when so many of them speak 2 languages so fluently. I wish I'd kept up so I could decipher this film.

nice but missed out an important chapter...
The theremin was invented in 1919 by a Russian physicist named Lev Termen (in the United States his name was Leon Theremin).

I gave a course about the basis of computer music in 2005, than I had the idea to compile my work into this animated form, for everyone to see.
