  • Awesome

  • lol.. well she doesnt seem bothered at all xD

  • Ahh dancing shrimp, natures popping candy

  • I LOVE dancing shrimp. I first had it in Chang Rai and it was one of the best meals I've ever had. I only wish they had it here in the US.

  • LOLz!!! Nothing unusual it's just the same as the JUMPING SALAD in Philippines..

  • It's called "กุ้งเต้น" :D

  • i love the meal its nice!

  • lol a disney intro awesome ;D

  • good for you for trying to experience the culture! The best way people grow and learn is by jumping into another culture.

  • yummy

  • i like the shrimp that they use for that but only when its fried lol

  • omg looks good! i wanna have some T_T

  • Ok, raw fish I can deal with, but not sure if I could ever eat anything that's still alive. I'm a wuss when it comes to stuff like that xD

  • This dish is actually very good, taste so good. I had once, and i love it.

  • I think it's great that you stepped out of your comfort zone and tried something new.

  • Actually you don't taste much of shrimps because tastes of spices, lime, herbs are quite strong (and good!) but it surely gives you interesting sensation while eating it (coz they were still "dancing") My friends love it. I'm not a big fan though. Once in a while is OK.

  • ที่แท้ก็..กุ้งเต้นนนนนนนนน...

  • holy shit that looks good

  • i love this dish yummyyyyyyyyyy

  • this looks like papaya salad, but without the papaya. we call it padict or raw fish sauce. it can also be cooked into a past, that is knowen as shrimp past. it has a very raw fish falvor to it. the past has a very srtrong garlic smell to it, so the shrip smell don't over power.

  • these are the basic ingredients that they add for their raw beef salad/chicken salad/meat salad. shallots, lemon grass, crushed roasted rice, ummm....among other things. my parents make the meat salad at least once a week. very yummy. i haven't tried it with the jumping shrimp yet, looks tasty though.

  • you got something in your teeth...

    EEEEEEEW its twitching :o

  • lmao! who needs a toothpick when you food can get itself out from between your teeth

  • Excellent! I've had that before near Sukhimvit in BKK. I have really fond memories of the experience. A little bit pokey when you come down on them the wrong way but otherwise very tasty. Did you like it? Looks like it was a bit spicy for you. Next time you can ask them for "mai pet" (not spicy)

  • I loved them. Actually it wasn't too spicy for me at all. The Spicier the better!!!! Thai hot is the best hot in the world. That is a good tip for those that don't like spicy.

  • Uhmmm yummy jumping salad

  • it looks tasty, when i go to thailand ill try some

  • I hope that you enjoy it as much as I did!

  • I love to it too! fresh shrimps with suka and mainit na kanin, hmmmmmmm....schmeckt

  • It sounds like you know a little more about it than I do. What was in the salad mix? It was very spicy.

  • this is thailand? i do not know what's in there with the salad mix, in philippines, we just dip it directly to a coconut vinegar mix with salt, msg a little bit, with pepper, those one in very small and red which is very hot and then hot rice, and for me it is really deli, hahahahaha!! sorry, but not much because i think eating much uncook will led you having worms, ehhhhh'!!!!

  • The food is considered "Pla" or spicy salad generally made from raw or lightly cooked meat.

Usually, it is made with such meat (shrimp, raw fish, oyster, minced beef)mixed with lime juice, fish sauce, fresh chilli, chilli powder, sugar, MSG, sliced lemongrass, mint leaves, sometimes cilantro and minced garlic are added. Sour and spicy are prominent taste. The dancing part is just for show, you better prepare it with salt-water shrimp or lobster to avoide parasite in fresh-water shrimp anyway.

  • That sounds like the salad that we had. I am not sure if it was prepared with salt water or fresh water shrimp but we were lucky enough not to pick up any parasites. It really did taste great!

  • The dancing shimp dish is made with fresh water shrimps net from local rivers or ponds.

    Yep..you're lucky.

  • I would freak just because they look like crickets....

  • You are right they did look more like an insect. I have never tried crickets but I have eaten grasshoppers and they didn't taste anything like a grasshoppers.

  • iv tried them there amazing rofl

  • Nice to know that I am not the only one that has tried them. Thanks for watching

  • 5 stars alone for the classic intro music.

  • Thanks!!!!!

  • We're going there in two weeks...I'll let you know how they are.

  • Eat up!

  • In the Philippines, its called Jumpin Salad...but the shrimps are bigger...

  • Kamusta! I can't wait to go to the Phillippines to try out there version

  • eat! eat! eat! eat!

  • this is super cool .....i wanna try :)

  • If you get the chance they really are terrific.

  • ARE YOU KIDDIN THERE DELISCOUS

  • Yes they are!!!!!!

  • I would eat them too if I was there :)

  • See, I knew I liked you! It is all about the immersion into the culture and the moment. I am glad I had the chance. It really was delicious.

  • I asked a friend who was there last year if she ate them, she didn't even know what they were! I guess their guide kept them from the "true" culture!

  • Wait....live shrimp? What's it like?....I always thought they are like crabs raw with jelly like insides before actually cooking?

  • They were so tiny that you really didn't taste them. You only tasted the spicy "salsa" that they mixed them with.

  • Yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!....

  • mmmm sexy

  • you bastards are nuts

  • watch for the bugs
