Yeah, this video was recorded the first few months that GOW2 was out. The game was not ready at launch, lag issues, game mechanics issues and balancing issues all made this game unplayable. Today it is a patch-work of fixes that barely make the game playable...I fear for GOW3.
I play gears 2 online all the time. Rarely do I have lag and I just leave the game when someone lag switches. The only thing I can really complain about is the extreme host power which was worse in the first game.

cont- even with the best connection u still can lag other people u can have 75mb upload guess what 3 movie files or downloading large files bring it down to 200kb if ur smart u set ur upstream on the programs to less so lets do math 75mb ..u put limit at 15mb u still have 60mb perfect connection...my connection is 6mb down n 715kb upload...when i have host no one lags..kinda weird when a person who got 75mb up lagging? he using program = cheating..also bridging host u can still do on tu6.

The kung fu flippers and crab walkers can be killed alot more easily than a person with a laggy connection. I play gears 2 because it is "current". Every now and then, I go back to Gears 1-WOW no comparison-hands down 1000 times better multiplayer. And with GOW 1 you knew what you were getting when you played. You host or play off host and be able to choose the game type and round duration and CHOOSE red, yellow, or blue bar connection-your an idiot for saying you "LOVE" Gears 2. No comparison.
The lag in Gears of War 2's multiplayer is inexcusable how in the world could their be this much lag between a maximum of 10 people per game (disregarding lag switches) it's down right silly when compared to call of duty 4 or 5 and espesically when compared to a maximum amount of 24 players per game in BF:Bad company which the lag is barely noticiable if non-existent.
I'll tell you a game that has no lag--incedible--Killzone 2 for PS3--I left gears 2 to play Killzone for about a month--the only reason I am back on Gears 2 is friends--it is hard to find friends on PS3 mainly because of the bluetooth mics and the party set up system--it is different for every game. But--Killzone 2--truly a "FAIR" game.
the lag works buy not letting u get close to the opposing team or the objective of the game u mite seem they r next 2 you in the game but r relli half way across the map stupid cheaters.

Gears 2 is a disaster.. The developer said "you need to betray your old fans to bring in the new" but I want to know how lagg brings in the new players.. Gears was great Gears 2 was a failure..
in my experience when TU4 was released i experience less lag and my connection isn't that good and i can host with little to no lag its not the host fault he get picked to be host mabey he should get in a party and not be party leader so he wont get host and its a fucken game one lost doesn't mean shit its not the end of the fucken world

TU4 had no changes instituted for server or lag issues--so your imagining that things have gotten better. Gears 2 fails. Stick with Gears one. Gears 2=no skill. Only way to win on gears2 is to be a frickin host. Gears 2 online play is a joke and Epic should be banned from creating anymore online multiplayer games. They should also add a word to their company's name...Epic FAIL.
Remember, Microsoft had a big hand in changing the multiplayer--its not all Epic's fault--but it would have been nice to hear what share of responsibility Microsoft had and Epic had in this muti-play fail.

The whole point in me naming this video "rank glitch" was to A. draw people like this retard to the site and B. to show them how people who subverted Gears 2 REALLY glitched their rank----by lag switching people and making the game fucked up. This way of lag switching to rank up is gone since the new ranking system came out, but there are new ways to glitch your rank.
its not a shitty internet connection--its the old way people used to glitch their rank--when the true skill ranking system was up--people used to lag the connection up to get rank 5 which was the highest rank at the time. ---But the reason i made this video and titled it "rank glitch" was to draw cheaters to the site--looks like i found another one who cant earn rank.

You cant level up fast by lag switching people now--under the new ranking system which is based on XP--it is actually better to play normally--however, some people are still lagswitching to try and win a game. when the system sees that the host is lagging up the game you will not get host again for at least a few hours when a person bridges host. Sad though why people still try this stuff.

For the last time--I told everyone to sign out because back when this system was being used if you signed out before the game ended you would get a loss but it wouldn't effect your trueskill rank. With the new ranking system--if you are not host and want to quit out of a match and not lose points...pull your ethernet cable while in the middle of the match.

There are numerous ways to lag switch. Tthe host lag switcher wasn't concerned about killing us--just capturing the Annex, that is why we didnt die and he was turning the switch off and on otherwise he wouldn't be able to capture the annex. You can use a program called comveiw to separate ip addresses and then use a program called zone alarm to automatically raise and lower your firewall.
How can you say its not Epic's fault? If Epic would not have made the game that way, people wouldn't be able to fuck with the system. The system used for Gears 1 makes it so this lag switching host bridging bullshit cant go on. Epic and Microsoft failed when they tried to get creative and toy with the original. they fucked it up and if they didnt, why are they putting things in their updates to try to remedy it?

I was in a match just like this last night man, it's fucking stupid. Where's the fun in cheating to win?? I'm glad you showed their tags, now we'll know he got his rank through cheating rather than playing the game properly. Epic should make dedicated servers, it's the only way to fix this and the host having more power issue. Great vid man 5 stars. i dont know if this works but some people will lag the game by putting a magnet or something to their wireless adapter which apperently screws up the game

Been playing Gears 2 for about an hour every night since TU3 came out. Better...but no where close to being "fixed". Still kids bridging host, which doesn't bother me as much as the fact that...whoever host is...is way overpowered. Host is 3 to 4 times more powerful than it was in Gears 1.
Gears 2 was supposed to fix mobility and host advantage. Instead you get caught on everything and host is even more unfair. It's like cliffy B whiped his ass with a gears 1 disk and called it gears 2.

I feel your pain bro. I play Gears 2 every day and have the same issues with laggers. It EXTREMELY frustrating. The thing is, you just know Epic is aware of it yet they sit on their asses. They got rid of the truskill ranking but the laggers are still there, and it still makes it harder to rank up.

Since when did this video need to evoke a discussion about glitching rank 100--You do realize that this video is meant to be a slam against kids that lag switch which is the same as glitching. I do want to say though, that, there is a difference between glitching achievements or rank and lag switching. Lag switching actually effects other players--glitching doesnt have any direct effect on other players. Think about it.

The kung fu flippers and crab walkers can be killed alot more easily than a person with a laggy connection. I play gears 2 because it is "current". Every now and then, I go back to Gears 1-WOW no comparison-hands down 1000 times better multiplayer. And with GOW 1 you knew what you were getting when you played. You host or play off host and be able to choose the game type and round duration and CHOOSE red, yellow, or blue bar connection-your an idiot for saying you "LOVE" Gears 2. No comparison.

The lag in Gears of War 2's multiplayer is inexcusable how in the world could their be this much lag between a maximum of 10 people per game (disregarding lag switches) it's down right silly when compared to call of duty 4 or 5 and espesically when compared to a maximum amount of 24 players per game in BF:Bad company which the lag is barely noticiable if non-existent.

I'll tell you a game that has no lag--incedible--Killzone 2 for PS3--I left gears 2 to play Killzone for about a month--the only reason I am back on Gears 2 is friends--it is hard to find friends on PS3 mainly because of the bluetooth mics and the party set up system--it is different for every game. But--Killzone 2--truly a "FAIR" game.

TU4 had no changes instituted for server or lag issues--so your imagining that things have gotten better. You cant level up fast by lag switching people now--under the new ranking system which is based on XP--it is actually better to play normally--however, some people are still lagswitching to try and win a game. when the system sees that the host is lagging up the game you will not get host again for at least a few hours when a person bridges host. Sad though why people still try this stuff.

For the last time--I told everyone to sign out because back when this system was being used if you signed out before the game ended you would get a loss but it wouldn't effect your trueskill rank. With the new ranking system--if you are not host and want to quit out of a match and not lose points...pull your ethernet cable while in the middle of the match.

There are numerous ways to lag switch. Tthe host lag switcher wasn't concerned about killing us--just capturing the Annex, that is why we didnt die and he was turning the switch off and on otherwise he wouldn't be able to capture the annex. You can use a program called comveiw to separate ip addresses and then use a program called zone alarm to automatically raise and lower your firewall.

The system used for Gears 1 makes it so this lag switching host bridging bullshit cant go on. I was in a match just like this last night man, it's fucking stupid. Where's the fun in cheating to win?? I'm glad you showed their tags, now we'll know he got his rank through cheating rather than playing the game properly. Epic should make dedicated servers, it's the only way to fix this and the host having more power issue. Great vid man 5 stars. Been playing Gears 2 for about an hour every night since TU3 came out. Better...but no where close to being "fixed". Still kids bridging host, which doesn't bother me as much as the fact that...whoever host is...is way overpowered. Host is 3 to 4 times more powerful than it was in Gears 1.

I feel your pain bro. I play Gears 2 every day and have the same issues with laggers. It EXTREMELY frustrating. The thing is, you just know Epic is aware of it yet they sit on their asses. They got rid of the truskill ranking but the laggers are still there, and it still makes it harder to rank up.

Since when did this video need to evoke a discussion about glitching rank 100--You do realize that this video is meant to be a slam against kids that lag switch which is the same as glitching. I do want to say though, that, there is a difference between glitching achievements or rank and lag switching. Lag switching actually effects other players--glitching doesnt have any direct effect on other players. Think about it.

I'm looking for someone to glitch me to level 49 so I can have a dated achievement for level 50. After that, I'd love to be glitched to level 99 so I can have a dated level 100 achievement.

It's too obvious that you didn't earn it when you get an online only achievement offline. That leaves you a little too open to getting banned, for my comfort level.
