  • is that a leatherman, looks like a TTI? i have respect for a multi tool person. i carry a TTI.

  • YO Mr. G did you go to college or are you just good at what you do. Im going to wright state! youre in Ohio right

  • lol 556 the caliber of the m16 lol

  • why do you need the file. would it work if you made a direct conection?

  • @Mindpaint, Mr.G can you tell me where you got those alligator clips.Or what size they are because i really need them please:)

  • @Msseek101

Small test leads available at Radio Shack.

    -- Mr. G

  • u should team up kipkay(look him up in youtube)

  • i plan on incorporating this in to one of my projects. it gonna be a shock glove. i'm gonna have a stips of metal on my fingers with rubber insulation to avoid getting shocked myself.

  • i dont have 5 alligator clips

  • what kind of ac adaptor do i need

  • This guys a fucking genius!!!!!

  • Yeah Mr. G if Mr. T was here he would kick your sorry ass..

  • @superkarter8

But he's not here, is he?

    -- Mr. G

  • @Mindpaint Maybe he is...

  • @Mindpaint im just kidden haha i love you vids!

  • im gonna stap this to my penis...

    THANKS MR. G!!!

  • Y do you kept touching it dummy

  • @SIKxQUICKxSCOPE For the example.

  • Or you can just put your tounge on the battery

  • red neck theme song... WHAT A MAROONE!

  • why in gods name would you bother

  • Save your time and just lick the battery!

  • hot will i get all that stuff aaah!?

  • Why do laminated core transformers not work? I've tried this and it only seems to work in ferrite-based transformers for some reason. Is it because laminated only works with high current high voltage AC or something?

  • is it possibleto tape this all together and trun it into a low voltage tazer thing

  • just stick you finger in an electrical socket.

    or stick your pen_s in

im sure youll get shocked and its easier than putting stuff together

  • my friend had one of those laser gun shockers and i held it in until he took it off of me......... the my hand started to go numb

  • just lick the 9v battery

  • why the fuck would you ever need this?

  • @Mindpaint Could i use a 3v to 230v transformer or a 4.5v to 230v transformer instead of a 9v to 230v transformer??

  • What happens if you short the output leads?

  • do i need aligator clips on the part that pluged in the socket

  • Get a Stun Gun :l

  • You should licking a large compassitor.

  • enough voltage to power a tv

  • ok so if anyone can answer my question ... rahter dum but still ... why in gods name do you need the file ??? i mean won't the result be the same if you just tam the 2 elegator clips or better yet make it a swich ... ?

  • @kingRumen

NO. Simply hooking up the battery will do nothing, except for at the exact time you connect it to, or disconnect it from the circuit. The file causes the circuit to make and break contact several times as you slide the wire across it. A transformer works ONLY with AC or pulsed DC, which is what we get from the file action. DC alone, which is supplied from the battery, will NOT allow the transformer to step up the voltage.

    -- Mr. G

  • @Mindpaint So the AC is turned into DC going the right way through the transformer. But if you run it backwards it goes from AC to AC correct?

  • @wettfeat

NO. A transformer never turns AC into DC. It goes in AC, and comes out either the same voltage AC (isolation transformer), higher voltage AC (step up transformer), or lower voltage AC (most common, known as step down transformer). Reverse a step up, get a step down, reverse a step down, get a step up. I hope this helps.

    -- Mr. G

  • @Mindpaint Thanks! That helped alot.

  • @Mindpaint

That's strange , cause i have several wall warts that are AC in , and are DC out ?

Could you please explain ? thanks .

  • Robiliśmy to na lekcji w szkole w technikum. We doo this at shool

  • @kingRumen He's only using the file as a ground for the current. you can pretty much use any metal strip to use as ground to complete the circuit for the shock device.

  • hey ! my science teacher taught us that .. in third grade -_- wat a werdo

  • heh, I figured this out on my own like a month ago, it's really cool, and with a ac generation source (fan driven stepper motor) you can do alot with it like I have.

  • what happens if you just hold the clip down?

  • Fuckin Smart

  • mr g you just got yourself a lot of subs lol

  • I've been shocked by both a MIG and TIG welding machine. Also a Tazer that you touch to your skin. Do you think that the shock from that 9 Volt battery could be stepped up enough to give more of a shock than any of the things I have named?

  • So now everybody talk about ACDC ? :D

  • I like yr show man. Reminds me of the Mr.Wizard show from when I was a child. Thanks and keep it up ignore anyone with something rude to say.

  • AC is called a moga from monster galaxy in facebook :D

  • Comment removed

  • WOW!!!

  • can i power a tv with this?

  • I have the same kind of wire cutter

  • which episode shoud i chose for my physics working model????

  • 1:45 transcribed room to rent a car transformer lol

  • I like it nice job

  • this is not shocking...today's kids should be knowing this (i knew this when i was 12)...transformers step up the voltage by decreasing the current and step down the voltage by increasing the current...thats how electricity in our house is so perfectly regulated..and yes..u should have used a rectifier (full wave or half wave) so u dont have to constantly keep brushing the other end of the wire and turn the DC voltage to AC...

  • @vibhunfsmw

What would a rectifier have done? Rectifiers don't turn DC to AC. Rectifiers are made of either 2 (half wave) or 4 (full wave) diodes. Rectifiers are designed to turn AC into pulsed DC, add a capacitor and you get DC. You would need an oscillator to create pulsed DC from DC. Add some shaping circuitry to create AC. Using the file to make/break the circuit simulated AC by making pulsed DC. Adding a rectifier would have done nothing useful. But thanks for the comment!

    -- Mr. G

  • @Mindpaint i am sorry for the mix up sir..u could actually use an inverter for DC to AC..i just said wat we r taught at school and wats written in my textbooks..i am 17 and just completed school..waiting for the results..u know sir.u r a great physicist and i am a child before u..but u can talk to me relating to any level of physics..be it home experiments or big things like cyclotron, tesla coils, van de graff generator. i know everything thanks to my eduction in school...nice talking to u sir.

  • @Mindpaint

1 diode is enough for a half wave rectifier... and it is possible to make a full wave rectifier with 2 diodes if you have transformer with center-tap.

  • @carneoleon

You are correct, however the center tap method is not the most preferred method for full wave rectification.

    -- Mr. G

  • @vibhunfsmw

    i didnt

  • @bloodbrothers115 u didnt know this stuff?? well, have to say that education in India is a bit high levelled..so we are taught very high levelled stuff in our mathematics, chemistry and physics classes...its not ur fault...its just that we come to know as much as a big scientist (or even more) by the time we become 17....!!

  • Yeah cool and all but..

I kinda wanted to make a shocker/tazer in which you just press a button and it shocks..

  • i did this at home and is briliant

  • Lets try this one more time...DUMBASS!!

  • awsome

  • that was eeeeeepppppiiiiiiiiccccc!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • lol im gonna make that and use it as a lie detector lol it will be fun to use electrical tape on their finger :D

  • lol "lets try this one more time"

  • sorry but this is stupid

  • Dont wanna Hurt You.....But This one FOR ME was Kinda Boring!!...Sorry!

  • I got tazer idea now

  • i dare u use fire NOW!!

  • don't you like it when the guy/girl that posted a video.. comments and gets the most 'thumbs up'

  • Don't listen to all these guys, your show is awesome!!

  • i didnt like this one

  • I was shocked by the video alone; however, I will not "do try this at home." The reason why? Getting shocked by a batter isn't supposed to be enjoyable, it stings. Should've stopped after the light, we don't care for your electric fetishes. Nice video though I like your theme song.

  • This video was awesome! Thank you for making it interesting and understandable! Keep up your videos...you could be the next..."Bill Nye" (one of my absolute favorite people ever!) lol!

  • mr g do use leatherman

  • You could use a PWM

  • did your mom gave this name "mr. g"? or was it daddy

  • 1000010 views lol

  • can i just use copper cables

  • wahhaha!! simple shock . but dangerous!!

  • Tesla would be proud man! good job!

  • Thumbs up if you just sat there and watched instead of doing the experiment

  • EVERYONE SHUT UP. i like these videos. Simple thing. if you dont like it. dont watch it. there are billions of other youtube videos to watch. so stop complaining. all you fucking assholes. this guy puts time into his videos. im fucking 14 years old and respect him more than most of you "mature" older people. get a life. get laid. and stop trolling because its fucking annoying. Let this guy make his videos.

  • u are great mr-G i was reserching about this matter only u have ur video helped me a lot

  • Mr. G ur a fag! I can make fire with chocolate a pop can and the sun! Can u do that? No u can't cuz ur gay

  • @9756s dont get mad

  • Dude why does it blink and not keep alight? :(

  • i enjoy all of your experiment, you're a great scientist.

  • 1 thing: don't hurt yoursel dude. Already sick of living?

  • I was kind of excited when he said "here comes the shocking part" but the title is very misleading. Dont use words like "shocking" just to get views. I hate this crap.

  • @MrAXDM

I used the word "Shocking" because this experiment SHOCKS you!!! I got SHOCKED by making a SHOCKING amount of voltage from a SHOCKINGLY small number of part, and SHOCKINGLY enough, I started with only 9 volts from a battery! NOW in what way did I misuse the word shocking?

    -- Mr. G

  • @Mindpaint lol he got pwned

  • @Mindpaint ooo boid by mr.G you rock mr. G

  • This is just a basic experiment, there is nothing shocking about it -.-'

  • @MrAXDM Grow up already! Do you honestly have so much spare time on your hands to act like a spoiled little stink to get so upset that you were misled by the word, "Shocking!?" honestly...what were you expecting?...something that was un-educational? ...sorry you were so disappointed but get over yourself already! Who acts this way?

  • @MrAXDM

I used shocking because it was JUST THAT! Shocking. As in getting shocked by electricity. In other words, the high voltage was SHOCKING me. what word would you have rather had me use?

    -- Mr. G

  • what the hell is this useful for? just a waste of time

  • The music wasn't necessary!! , and honestly the Clip was Boring i wasted my time for nothing

  • @xO52Ox

This is the Mr. G complaint department. We are sorry you experienced a bad time while watching this video. We will torture Mr. G for causing this pain to you. Thank You for reporting this infraction to us.

  • @Mindpaint lmao ahhahhahhahhahah

  • @Mindpaint LOL

  • Mr. G

you're the coolest guy on youtube. I like to try your experiments. The only down side is that i couldn't find strike anywhere matches. Me and my mom looked all over town. But we might get some at the end of February. P.S. if you look at my videos don't call me screwed up my friends pretty much force me to do them. I'm actually a really nice kid I'm into everything outdoors and I LOVE fire. But ya please don't think I'm a screwed up pervert. I don't like posting them but what ever. Thanks!!

  • @TheRCfunatic if you are talking about the match gun i have an idea but have never tested it, k so what you do is tape a match striker where the head of what is supposed to be a strike anywhere match you put it right there then watch and see what happens post me on if it works

  • don't try it at home, try it at school!

  • could you show how to do this with DC?

  • @blueeyesseto

A 9 volt battery IS DC! This video shows you just what you are asking for.

    -- Mr. G

  • @Mindpaint In fact you have probably noticed if you just complete the circuit and hold it on it doesn't keep shocking. This is because transformers work with AC and not DC. The reason tapping or dragging the battery makes it shock more rapidly is you are making 1/2 wave of AC every time you touch battery and then break the circuit again. I made something similar as a kid but instead of a battery I used a motor which I spun with another motor, this produced REAL AC and shocked like hell.

  • @Mindpaint what does the G stand for Genius? (i have a short atention spand and idk if you said it in any of your other videos haha) well anyways love your vids man keep it up

  • Can I use 3.2v 200MA to get about 100v?

  • can you use a nail file like the ones that come in a nail cutter?

  • Hey dude! Tryed this and it WORKED.Awesome job.....Mr.G ;)

  • That music is a distraction , get rid of it .

  • I will try this at home.I have a 220 to 3 volt adapter and 400 mA.It's safe?

  • to much work

  • @fuck192ass

You are seriously disturbed. Here are just a few points I'd like to make...

    - I'm not a teacher

    - Take a look at your user name

    - What a sad comment for a 25 year old Canadian to make. I'm sure your country is VERY proud of you

    - The mere fact that you posted lewd comments on MANY of my videos shows exactly how disturbed you really are. I do hope you seek the professional help you need.

    - You have been reported to YouTube, and will hopefully be banned.

    -- Mr. G

  • @Mindpaint hahahahahaha your so cool mr g.

  • why do you must to brush it???

  • your other videos are somewhat cool but this video was kinda stupid and gay

  • are u my gr.8 teacher

  • FAIL!

  • it shocks. so lets do it again!

  • hey qwik question dose your pocket knife have a flashlight

  • mr.g please answer soon i want to do this for my school science fair mine in original form is 117v in 7.5v out will it still work

  • your song is gay

  • @415Knights thats rude

  • @415Knights well that 2 bad

  • @415Knights You're gay.

  • your'e gonna get shocked! Lets try it again!

  • aww that shoked me!!

  • self-induction

  • It's spelled Macgyver

  • mcguiver would be proud...

  • All this trouble ....to get a shock! Just touch a conductor in any circuit.

  • "That didn't feel too good... lets do it again!" Amen...

  • Now this actually looks plausible, unlike that fake fricken householdhacker! I hate that motherfucker!

  • press play and hold down 9 hahaha

  • ok use this but attach another batery to a pagers vibrater and the vibrator to the black cord so that it strikes the file constantly and tada u got a micro tazer

  • what means mr. g

  • You should work on jackass!

  • ur theme song sucks!!!!. but your videos are good though :)

  • still the battery to your tongue haha that will shock you too xD

  • gay

  • "ah..it can be painful at times..ok lets do it again" lol that acutally made me laugh

  • gay

  • Gay

  • duuuude you created the patient's red nose from operation!!

  • i put a moter on a metal ruggid disk on an axil and it created a constant current :) so now my xbox runs on 3 9v batterys 2 for back up and a 12v battery just incase i run the 3 9v out :)

  • if you were to take two more leads and a 10pf capacitor(.0001uf) and connect it on the "brush" end as a solid connection, the transformer will put out, not volts, but kilovolts. 1kv arcs appox 1 cm. And @iToasterman The 555 timer circuit doesnt make ac. it makes square wave electricity which is more efficient at producing large voltages.

  • @gonitronow surely square wave and AC is the same thing?

  • @rooflee AC is a sine wave and looks kinda like this on an oscilloscope -> ~ Square Wave is not a sine wave. it looks like this -> |_|¯|_|¯| Square wave minimizes the time that the magnetic field takes to collapse. the faster the field collapses, the higher voltage the output. ac has a lower output voltage than square wave at the same input frequency and voltage.

  • @gonitronow I'm well versed when it comes to wave forms as I'm an amature music producer. I was under the (wrong) assumption that AC was also a square wave. Thanks for clearing that up :)

  • do one with a 555 timer to create the ac current using a pnp transister...

  • I don't know about other people, but I'm pretty sure I don't have a bunch of crocodile clips lying around my house.

  • can you do it the oposite way

  • mr.g were do you get all these ideas

  • real queer background music

  • ow it hurts I'm sueing

  • thats stupid

  • Cool! This could make a great tazer!

  • up volts down amperage

  • this is stupid

  • mr g? mr gay or mr g-spot? lol sorry man

  • half suicide experiment. lolzzzzz

  • 0:01

  • @Dingmaestro47 what the fuck is wrong with you?

  • no piano

  • he is an idiot XD
