That is one of the reasons why there is a worldwidw recession. A lot of countries depend on our market and what we do is waste money on sports stadiums that are not needed. The world is not going to end because of this recession and in order to move on tomorrow's landmarks need to be constructed now. New York City needs to have the WTB because the skyscrapres in NY are losing their status as world landmarks and i'm sure you know why. NYC needs landmarks to maintain tourism and a good economy.

I love the plans for Dubai. Soon there will be a plan for an 8000+ foot building with over 550 floors. We should build that in New York.

You see Dubai is a city that is always moving forward, whereas cities like New York, London, are cities with a boring history that no one cares about. Ask the average student how much they love history. Ask the average student how much they love sci-fi themed buildings? The next generation cares more about looking forwards not backwards. Next time make a smart analysis Br33ck because we're moving forward.

Br33ck this city is Americanized, so what? To be honest real estate is starting to become interesting thanks to Dubai. Oh and by the way Br33ck everyone is greedy, the difference between a greedy entrepreneur and an average person is that the entrepreneur does something with there greed or there desire of importance and the average person does nothing. It's thanks to these greedy entrepreneurs that you have amazing buildings, television, electronics, cars, air planes, etc.

As any sci-fi lover, seeing this city and knowing what will b done there... it is a dream come true. But as a worker, such a place is a nightmare. Resorts and such places are a sad place for the people who work on them. So is construction. Work 8hrs in ANY of those places and the brightness of Dubai will seem dull. Real life is hard, and places like this make it harder. Truly, it makes me sad...

Dubai is the "Las Vegas" of the middle east. It's flashy, but no substance, no culture. NYC, London, Berlin, etc. These cities have history. Wild architecture is not a sustainable commodity for running a city.

America has a lot of tools, resources, tech, creativity; but in the land of fast-food, 1-time-use, fashion-trendy lifestyle, ALL of this goes to H. Let me agree with you: GREED IS NOT GOOD. It is an obsetion. IF, a project like this could be seen as something more than fashion, then I would give my thumbs-up. But corporate world has no objective. Its just greed and pointless self-indulgement. I know it, for I'm Mexican, and know what 3rd world country is.

I want to move there. My city is becoming so crappy. They make excuses on why stuff can't get built like in the case of the World Trade Center site. It's been 7.5 years since 9/11 and very little progress has been made on the memorial and office towers. Our transit system is stuck in the past not realizing that these days they have to communicate information through electronics and automated announcements. They put up paper and cardboard signs plus uninformative automated announcements.

its not just the tallest building from what I know its like a whole place. UAE got lots of other companies in other countries many people are gonna go travel and work in Dubai. One of my friend in Brazil works for this IT company and he is send off to Dubai for traveling work.

I hope tt one day Dubai will be the New York! But its not only abt the buildings n structures. Duai should also develop in modern industries like nanotechnology, biomedical sciences n of cus academics. It shall have universities comparable to tt of Oxford n Cambridge!
