It means 'beautiful golden girl' as I know. chinese characters can show what names mean, but it's not easy to read and write in chinese. so korean names are usually written in korean alphabet. I think chinese and korean letters have their own virtue as ideogram and phonogram.

Yuna's jumps are called as 'Text book' because they're so perfect. You can learn them easily with the clip and her jumps. Once you know how to distinguish jumps, figure skating wil be much more fun to you.

@Music0Girl0 'Yuna' is her first name, and 'Kim' is last name. So Yuna Kim (or Yu-na Kim) in English. However, her name is written as 김연아 (Kim Yuna) in Korean. 'Last name' comes first, and 'First name' comes last in Korea. That's why many people from other countries are confused like you. So if you want to call her friendly, just say "Yuna".

yu-na Kim is wonderful. Her jump technique is perfect!! She's expressions more convincing . Yu-Na received level 4 on all her elements which most other women have level 3. Her spins is much faster than any other figure skaters. I look forward to seeing her again soon in masterpiece.:)

(like many experts say, it looks so easy only bcuz she delivers it looking like so effortless! as well as flawless at the most times! ;-) yea, "she's a phenomenon!" lol) in order to deliver all of the (high level of) elements successfully, the program goes (relatively) simple in choreography than her previous programs. thx!

i think she left out the triple flip purposely because if she did a triple flip with all the other jumps she had to do, the total amount was 8, and she was only allowed 7. the commenter said that she was late for her triple lutz in this program..... why did he say that? love her double axel double toe loop double loop..... beautiful. i also like the puppy gesture she does with her hands before performing her triple salchow. GO YU NA!

She made her program perfect at olympics with triple flip. and.. what do you think the meaning of 'late'? The late which the commenter means is not same as what you think, I guess. It doesn't mean things like lateness for school, or time. The commenter said that triple lutz was on the latter part of the program.

figure skaters usually have one short program and one free program for one season.

figure skating championships are held in from October to March for one season.

they are Grand prix (October ~December), 4 continent championship or Euro campionship (January), Olympics (February) and World championship (March).
