  • Thats the "A" Minor pentatonic at the beginning!

    I'm getting confused now!

  • @Feet4hands

    I'll keep it simple.

The A minor and C major scales have the same notes, but when you play a scale, you should keep the root (i.e starting note) of that scale (A or C) in mind, you should also try to start your playing on the root, the root will feel like home and whatever you play will be in relation to the root. That's what will give your playing its character.

  • @deltaeffectx

@Wachman is right, he didn't emphasize making the C feel like home, that could confuse beginners.

  • My name is Peter Vogl, and I W I L L see you again!!!

  • Great lesson.

  • LOL!

  • nice dud..

  • learning shapes and memorizing licks is no way to learn to play guitar. people should learn music and chords to know what theyre actually playing. we should have better music programs in school.

  • @twinkie999 agreed. i have a guitar for 3 years now. back then i was like ohh i dont need to learn notes and shit. well i was obviously a little prick so i started to learn in a normal fashion way now with reading chords etc etc. this is the only way to really understand music. hard work but its definetly worth it

  • check out MARTY SCHWARTZ! He knows whats up

  • That's a really nice ballady bit of backing track he's got on there though..

  • yah a pent minor is the same as c pent major. tthe only difference is the posistion of the root note changes

  • ummmmm....it is A pentatonic minor.....I am looking for really major licks.....

  • same thing man. A is the relative minor to Cmajor.

  • Ummm...Its minor, it`s confuse

  • he should say that it`s an A minor pentatonic scale as long as he starts on the note A

  • ...talk about some BIG frets...

  • he put emphasis on the A notes instead of the C, which will confuse beginners

  • cut you nails

  • just circle of fifths. circle of fourths is a gross error that is musically ineffective. circle of fifths makes sense, circle of fourths doesnt have the same relevance

  • circle of fourths makes just as much sense... it's the same as running the circle of fifths... backward

  • It works, but it just doesn't make sense musically. The circle of fifths came about by fifths, and is most effective and most relevant as a teaching tool when looked at in fifths rather than fourths, because of the way the most common chord progressions work and because the interval of a fourth holds much less importance than a fifth. not none at all, but much less.

  • Why? c f b flat etc...it`s ok too

  • it's okay, but makes much less sense theoretically. But do what you want.

  • i think thats confusing for beginners though

  • he looks so young there

  • thank you very much !

  • misinformation. i know A minor pentatonic and C major pentatonic are the same scales just starting on different notes but still play a major pentatonic and a minor pentatonic side by side and you realize this could make things confusing.

  • graet

  • Wow that guy is cool

  • Nice guitar man, what is it? Good lesson btw.

  • thats A minor, you should have finished on the C note

  • lol, good call

  • @y2james A minor is C major's relative minor

  • practica mierda jsaijajisijasj cortate la mano sjiajjsiajs

  • great!! thanx...nice teaching!
