I saw this in Baltimore a couple of weeks ago. It was great to see Eric again after not being able to attend a live performance for a few years. His musical level never seems to stop expanding and rising. I look forward to the next encounter. Maybe this time I can find his guitar tech, Jeff, and be able to talk to Eric backstage like I always did before.

E.J. was amazing this night. I saw it from the fourth row. Pulling off this solo, which was backwards on the original of course, was just SICK!! "House Burning Down" was equally amazing. There are maybe 3 or 4 guitars on the original, and he managed to play almost all the parts!!

I doubt their are too many guitarists that would go on stage with an amp THAT clean, and still put it in your face like Eric does.

It's always so incredible when you get to see an artist create -- having been blessed to have been in EJ's presence many times over the past 24 years, Many times I have watched him hear something -- in the amp undertones, like this time, for example - (at the 5 min. mark, he just takes off in the most breathtaking passages anyone could conjure) -- and go somewhere new.

I watched EJ at Austin City Limits in 1988 where he played this same piece, and I think it sounded way better then, but being in person is also different than watching you tube.....so who knows. But one thing is for sure.....Eric Johnson is the best player around today.....period!

Not only is EJ a master guitarist in his own right (IMO, one of the top 10 of all time), but he's respectful of the past masters like Hendrix. This guy deserves way more attention than he gets.

Went to the show. Just glad I can find some of the videos posted by you and others. I also felt it seemed slightly slow. I have seen Eric a couple of times and I felt he wasn't quite up to it this night.

Thanks for posting! I saw him in 2008 in Omaha and hope to see the KC show this year. For my money no one comes close to covering Hendrix except maybe Randy Hansen. I still prefer Eric's interpretation. Tempo is a bit sluggish on this.
