This one brings memory even though i didn't manage to finish it. The Velvet room muisc is always soothing, makes you want to forget the game and sleep with your ps still on. hahahaa
Thank you so much for posting these! It brings back memories of when I hunted for the original Persona in stores (took me 2 weeks and like almost a dozen places, bought it for over $70 bucks when it first came out... for some odd reason most places didn't carry it). Then the days when I played EP... Managed to snag a copy of IS for an emulator and I love the original tunes of the Velvet Room. P3 was so-so, but P4's is awesome (sadly not in-game but on the OSTs)
@MuseTheBlue P3 still wasn't as bad as some games. At least the game didn't open with "I don't care what happens to this world."
... Not that I blame you for hating the game, since it didn't exactly have the most well-told story, and since Junpei, Aigis, and what's-her-face from the Velvet Room all needed to fuck off and die horrible, brutal deaths.
I, like every other person on the planet, do recommend P4. If you ask me, though, it might actually be the hardest SMT game. Fuckin' timers.
@Barrylocke I didn't really play Strange Journey. And another thing, Nocturne, while having some utterly evil bosses, didn't kick your ass with random encounters right off the bat.
@DrolKeegEht Nah it's ok, i hate games with dungeons (laberynth types) but Persona, Final Fantay and Castlevania (maybe other game too) are exceptions since those games have good gameplay and incredible story (except Lord of Shadows)... does my example sucks?
@Crok425 Actually I meant that I don't mind the choices between social links OR going to the dungeon.
And honestly I'd argue about Final Fantasy, but I'd rather not start talking about Final Fantasy in the comments section of a Persona video. Someone would grab their head screaming, "I CAN'T FUCKING ESCAPE IT FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF"
Maybe later in the game, but compared to Persona 4? The random battles were so easy, 99% of them are over the second brotag gets a turn, unless you're really bad at fusing Personae with decent skills.
Persona 4 was my first SMT-related game, I didn't know how to use the Compendium til about 80% of the way through and i never had trouble with any random encounters, unlike Nocturne and sometimes in DDS. And I played them all on Normal on my first playthroughs.
@Masterblaster9001 P4 continuously kicked my ass with random encounters, or at least they take a damn long time. I hate grinding for -dyne skills.
In Nocturne the random encounters never gave me trouble. Ever. Even when I was first playing blind through the game and I had to restart my file when I was 30 hours in because I fucked up my skillset: No trouble. Unless they jumped me from behind, of course. Which is always good fun to have a fight open with war cry and panic voice.
does anyone know what are the names of the original scores used in these velvet room variations? (I know one of them is Beethoven's Pathetique, but the other 3 I'm clueless)
@theMeshtar The other is Gymnopedie # 1 by Erik Satie. I don't think there's anything else beside this variation and the other Velvet room composition.
I think Galbadia Hotel has it, but it's been a bit unsafe to download from there. Use cation...what I normally do is download the files onto my PS3, since I won't have to worry about it getting a virus. It works differently from a PC, so any virus for it would have to be a specially coded one. This is personally my favorite VR mix in P2. If GH has it, I may upload the file and put a link to it in here.
Can someone provide me with a link? Or is this song in any Persona OST?

@lorien1st Agree with this tenfold, Persona 2 hits me right here...and both first games hold many memories for me.
I couldn't stand 3, and haven't yet tried 4.

@DrolKeegEht Harder than Nocturne or Strange Journey?? Don't people say that very often :/

@Barrylocke I didn't really play Strange Journey. And another thing, Nocturne, while having some utterly evil bosses, didn't kick your ass with random encounters right off the bat.
Oh, yeah, and Persona 4 has a time limit.
DrolKeegEht 1 year ago
@DrolKeegEht Persona 3 too... but in Persona 4 is harder about time limit.
Crok425 11 months ago
@Crok425 Yeah, in P3 you could dick around with a social link and then go to the magical random bullshit dungeon.
Not that I mind, though. Both P3 and P4 have reasons for this, tying gameplay into story in a reasonable manner.

Uh, Nocturne is notorious for kicking your ass with random encounters right off the bat
On hard mode one crit from a Preta kills you at the beginning
Masterblaster9001 7 months ago
@Masterblaster9001 That's why it's called hard mode. On normal difficulty random encounters are piss easy, if time and MP wasting.

Someone should make some sheet music of these variations. Unless it's already been done. Anyone know?
