Been a while since I've heard this song or read the comments. But I think what we are all forgetting is that this song, and this music video, they aren't just about eating animals. Its about our world. How its become so... misshappen and disgusting, that very little beauty is left in it for us to see. It us up to us, however small a deed or grand a gesture, to turn Earth back to what it should be, not what we have forced it to become.

We plant Trees. We kill animals. We keep them from over populating. But some ways we kill them are horrible yes. I'm not a vegan or anything like that but I have a huge soft spot for animals and realising how they are treated makes me angry. Nope, it's a matter of context. But I'd be hard pressed to see what's efficient TODAY about shooting a deer down when you can get equivalent nutritional benefits from less energy costly means of food gathering: agriculture. With the advent of new technologies, I'm really curious as to why someone could even come up with the idea that shooting a deer to feed themselves is any worthwhile.

@GialtroKoumas What I meant was, you are standing on a deserted island, and you don't know if you can eat the plants, because you are unsure they are poisiounus(sp?) or not, then you should be able to kill an animal to survive; however, if it is for "Oh, I love how insert animal taste like, lets kill eat it" then it is just wrong.

It is naturally occuring simply because unlike all you have been taught, humans are part of this whole imaginary entity you "call" nature and dissociate from us. What's the actual difference between complex atomic structures reacting to their surroundings in a way that generates "natural occurences" and human beings reacting to the need for shelter building a house ? Argue all you want, it's just a degree of perceived complexity difference.

We are a naturally occuring process. Whatever we do is a natural process, because we're not decoupled whatsoever from "nature". If a lion eats an antelope, it's not anymore natural than if a kid tasted sand and died on it. The kid who chokes on the sand and dies reacted to the sand to the best of his knowledge and abilities at the time, satisfying a "natural" urge to experiment. Believe it or not, you're an animal.

It would be, to the extent where your environmental conditioning had pushed you to do it. If you believe you can do anything that wasn't forced upon you by environmental pressures, you do not quite understand basic science. Humans are just another species, and what we do is natural. Sure, it may "endanger" other species (yes, more complex atomic structures!) and hasten entropy, but it's definitely not unnatural. Maybe your definition of "natural" is out of whack, though.
@crapcake813 Vegetarianism isn't unnatural. We as humans are obnivorus(sp?). Meaning we can eat both meat and plants. Hence why our tounges are stiff enough to not get cut by the plants. (Hope that made sense.)

We've got one planet, and one chance." Do you see any big name music artists doing anything like this? How are they so much more popular than this? Pop culture never fails to baffle me....
Responsible logging (such as the kind practiced in algonquin park) actually helps forests to thrive. Also, while clearcutting is usually a bad thing, it can also be forest saving, in the event that a bunch of trees are diseased, it can make sure that it doesnt spread to otherwise healthy trees, and decimate an entire forest.

Or! You could just NOT leave your animal tied to a lantern. There's people like myself, who's living 20 feet from a really big forest, with a big lawn and 4 family members to take care of the animal, in my case a dog. The dog loves our home and we can even keep our gate open without it trying to run away. And btw, if I would have to choose between getting left behind tied to a lantern ten minutes a day, or not live at all, I'd go for the first option.

Sadly hunting is a part of life. There is a "circle of life" a hunter lets a deer go free and that deer ends up having 3 baby deer, then those deer have more, and soon enough they are getting hit by cars or eating the flowers in your back yard.

It is naturally occuring simply because unlike all you have been taught, humans are part of this whole imaginary entity you "call" nature and dissociate from us. What's the actual difference between complex atomic structures reacting to their surroundings in a way that generates "natural occurences" and human beings reacting to the need for shelter building a house ? A cave is also a form of shelter, but it is not created by humans, where as a single brick is mud that was put into a cast, baked in an oven, and then shipped to the building sight. We are a naturally occuring process. Whatever we do is a natural process, because we're not decoupled whatsoever from "nature". If a lion eats an antelope, it's not anymore natural than if a kid tasted sand and died on it. The kid who chokes on the sand and dies reacted to the sand to the best of his knowledge and abilities at the time, satisfying a "natural" urge to experiment. Believe it or not, you're an animal.

The accurate meaning of "grow" you're searching for is "using external matter and energy to further generate cells familiar to the organism." They don't grow. They merely react to their environment to fight entropy. Growing is a meaningless term that's applied to so many things it's factually inaccurate to say a plant "grows". It merely exchanges with its environment.

It would be, to the extent where your environmental conditioning had pushed you to do it. If you believe you can do anything that wasn't forced upon you by environmental pressures, you do not quite understand basic science. Humans are just another species, and what we do is natural. Sure, it may "endanger" other species (yes, more complex atomic structures!) and hasten entropy, but it's definitely not unnatural. Maybe your definition of "natural" is out of whack, though.

Like I said, the current state of meat industry is absolutely horrible, but everyone turning to vegetarians isn't going to fix all the problems.

Or! You could just NOT leave your animal tied to a lantern. There's people like myself, who's living 20 feet from a really big forest, with a big lawn and 4 family members to take care of the animal, in my case a dog. The dog loves our home and we can even keep our gate open without it trying to run away. And btw, if I would have to choose between getting left behind tied to a lantern ten minutes a day, or not live at all, I'd go for the first option.

This world is so fucked up! Poor poor animals. I hate how people treat them! I wish God would punish all people who abuse animals and people as well. Their day will come! Also Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.
