@jeromeT1020 armored core is often cheesy depending on which ones you have played. but if you played ones like Last Raven, those were good. in the new Front Mission they are making Wanzers not like Armored Core but more like Gundam, which i agree is a mistake. This is a 4 months late reply, you probably don't even care annymore, but for the sake of explanation, you should know that the very first FM on the SNES had flame trowers, so its not an addition to FM5, its getting an old "tradition" back from the very first one.
If you never played the first one, check Front Mission DS, (for the Nintendo DS obviously), its a pixel perfect remake of the first game.

Maybe if SE actually put some ads for FM games they would probably sell more. Funny how they don't have that problem when its another crappy FF game.
Not really. FM 1st/3/4 have weak bosses without any real power(save a few like Ivanovna and Driscoll). FM2/5 units bosses, on the other hand, are a hell lot stronger. And no, Glen usually won't be able to kill units in one attack(with a huge skill chain with the sword or railgun then he might) based on how FM5 works... but following friendly fire attacks can.
More or less, boss-class units can't really obliterate a unit easily. Though most long-time FM fans(myself included) will agree FM2 wins here hands-down. If you haven't done so, look for an FM2 video with a certain mobile fortress of death...

I hate Armored Core its sooooo cheesy. Front Mission is my shit tho. I hate that square is making the new one full motion, I think its a big mistake.
