I agree partially but Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Leonard Cohen are undescutable greats of all time. The Hip remind me a little of REM - another of my fav bands. Agreed - you can't compare Blue Rodeo, Adams and BNL with them but don't diss The Guess Who - a great pop-rock band.......Cummings' voice is one of the Canuck greats ever - Bachman's guitar playing was legendary.

Morphine is Jazz influenced rock (their own genre actually, called LOW ROCK). Venom and Celtic Frost are old school death metal. Love and Rockets are alt. Care to be corrected on anything else?
