  • fantastic performance! Love that bass line.

  • With all respect to their work so far: Rio is still their best album. Sorry, guys..... =:o)

  • I think this is in their top 5 songs. One of my favorites. Glad they got back together again but did not see them in LA because they performed at the Mayan, wish it had been some place else.

  • I am 40 years old and as a boy this band was innocence and adult at the same time. I would be so lucky if my children can find such a musical icon.

  • Sheer perfection!

  • These guys shows to the blank generation how to do it!! Nice bass, great voice, exactly drumm beat...

  • Had to respond on that DRIVING BASS.....

    NICE

  • Give up some love for John Taylor, amazing bass player, he makes playing the bass fun.

  • EXCELENTE GRACIAS POR LA CALIDAD DE IMAGEN Y QUE BANDA POR DIOS!!

  • Never realized the quality of the bass line until now.

  • Because JT was a 'pretty boy' he was never taken seriously as a bass player which is criminal.

  • @pawnsacrifice1 True, true...And so sad!

  • I LOVE DURAN DURAN!!

  • damn....that bass really moves. good stuff! (yeah, they shoulda shown him more...)

  • 懐かしいなぁ

  • Elegance plus rock = Duran Duran

  • "like a birthday, or a pretty view"

  • The drummer drops his stick in the intro :L

  • The " belle époque " of the Taylors. Awesome bass line by John , Andy's guitar and a neat Roger behind the drums !

  • it always disappoints me when they dont play the original guitar part (at least during the chorus)

  • He says in 2:12 "One, two, three, four" in Portuguese. I'm from Brazil. VERY GOOD!

  • i love this toon!!!! i had duran duran posters on my walls and wore those new romantic clothes!! pity i was 6ft 2"

  • South park brought me here

  • very very good saxofon solo!

  • One of the best groups to see live, without a doubt.

  • I think so too...i love them

  • After all this time, these guys still kick ass!

  • One of the best songs I've ever heard, one of the worst renditions of anything I've ever heard.

  • @Launchballer What? This is a great live performance, considering they are playing their instruments - go and watch a Brittany Spears live instead whack job

  • @MrNotyag People AGE. U R AGING RIGHT NOW! thEY ARE NOT GOING TO LOOK LIKE THEY DID 20 YEARS AGO IDIOT!!!Their music is awesome!!!!!!!!

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!Nothing weird dumMYy!!!People will forget Beiber in 20 years not DURAN DUran!!!!!!

  • buena version de una de los mejores temas pop de los 80. realmente un clasico saludos desde chillan-chile

  • Best 80's bass song!

  • @MrNotyag haha KISS can't even hide behind their makeup anymore either.

  • Greatness.

  • <3

  • Simply delightful. Never get's old hearing such a classic. Duran Duran Forever!!!!!!

  • JT is totally underrated as a bass player and D2 is totally underrated as a band.

  • Why all the 80's performers cut their hair nowdays? :(

  • @vicko620 see i agree but then surely if they went for the same hair look, and it didn't look as good, that'd suck

  • Watch,.`Movies.",Online..,Here',,

    Simply,`,Copy''"&"'.Paste"`.

  • @imminentweapon8c2 fuckoff

  • They sound great after all these years wow

  • duran duran, still sounding great and staying tight on those instrutments. seeing them perform this live is icing on the cake. classic.who's the lady.she's looking and sounding great also.

  • @MrNathan791 it anna ross she has been with duran 4 about 5/6 years now

  • One of the BEST bands ever, i wouldnt be the same without them!

  • Roger Taylor, tyvm~!

  • This is the original drummer, whose brilliant name escapes me at the moment! Has anyone noticed that yet in this clip? Ty whomever it was who uploaded it, nice change from the original. :)

  • @Marilyn1966 drummer mr roger taylor, original line up simon lebon, john taylor, nick rhodes(who formed duran back in 78),roger taylor and andy taylor

  • @Marilyn1966 drummer mr roger taylor, original line up simon lebon, singer john taylor, bass nick rhodes keyboards(who formed duran back in 78),roger taylor drums and andy taylor guitar

  • @DEEAGGER love roger taylor that much you'd have him twice yeah? :D

  • justin bieber hasnt came out the closet yet give it time

  • Thank you for a decent live clip of this song. One question - John Taylor's bass line drove this song high into the charts and yet those behind the cameras never ever give us a good look at his hands playing the guitar. Does anyone else ever get frustrated with that?

  • @ShadyPastel Yup, and I'd still love to know what the arpeggiator's doing in the background!

    jj

  • @jumb0j0ck Yup ummm that too LOL

  • @ShadyPastel

One of the best bass lines in pop music and you can't even see it-FRUSTRATING!

  • @n8tureboy I saw a documentary ... something like Classic Albums, and he explains the chords and rythmn... think it was an English show... ?? Might be a clip somewhere? Hope thathelps.

  • The guitar sounds horrible!!

  • This is an awesome video. You got to be kidding if you don't like Duran Duran! They are very talented musicians!

  • It's amazing what Botox, liposuccion, makeup, hair dye and Viagra can do! These geezers are really playing and looking great. I'd even buy 'em a pack of Viagra and a bottle of hair dye for them to keep playing. ROCK ON, DURAN DURAN!

  • CAN PEOPLE PLEASE, PLEASE, SHUT THE FUCK UP ABOUT JUSTIN BIEBER!!!

it's just played out to the max. it wasn't even that funny in the beginning, try to be more creative. I realize trolling is fun, but please.

  • @ithacasteveo Thats not gonna happen anytime soon, your s.o.l dude, sucks for you :)

  • 2.12 min ...português perfeito...1,2,3,4,...um, dois três quatro!! Fantástico !!!

    Foram grandes no seu tempo....

  • i like the original recording better. but you gotta love Duran Duran <3

  • 25 people can go kill themselves because nobody likes them

  • John Taylor is great bass player. Amazing groove and feel. I love listening to him.

  • I would love to sit and listen to them perform like this

  • Andy's guitar sounds better than Dom's attempt. Well, the solo sax had a pretty nice guitar part.

  • 25 People Don't Like Cherry Ice Cream...

  • Rodger kick ass! Glad he came back!

  • um, dois, tres, quatro!!!!

  • is that the original singer?

  • @WhySoManyOMGs yes that's Simon

  • good old brummie band :)

  • Prepping my kale with green garlic and maple bacon for tomorrow. Don't hate.

  • first time I've seen Roger drop his drumsticks at :18......love this song!!!!!

  • Still handsome.

  • Roger Taylor almost didn't agree to reunite with the band because he already had a DJ gig. Glad he came back.

  • grande sax

  • cool simply cool....

  • his boyish voice nver changed still de same..like 25 yrs ago..simon still awesome..!! luv u guys..

  • Bieber will be in the 35th anniversary of Les Mis improving on the unbelievably crappy performance of one of the Jonas brothers for the 25th jubilee show.

  • I must have missed this DVD. It's interesting that they left the part of Roger Taylor dropping his stick at the beginning.

  • what sad, pathetic, lonely bastards disliked this ???

  • What is the name of the DVD? Cual es el nombre del dvd dond estan estos videos?

  • 1st "cool" bass line I ever learned to play.

That's when I realized, wow, a funky bass line from the UK... :)

This is a very VERY polished live recording.. impressed for an aging band.

  • @SEBBARU Did you ever heard the Nick Fyffe's bass lines? Jamiroquai?

  • @caiovarela Please tell me you really don't rate Fyffe over Stuart Zender?!?! He is the ORIGINAL and BEST bassist Jamiroquai ever had! There's basically no interesting bass parts on A Funk Odyssey! No FUNK certainly. Try anything off Travelling Without Moving instead.

  • @Holmes1508 I think Zender is better than Fyffe only in studios.

  • simon lookz like a zombie....or a dr. drew patient

  • Thumbs up if you got here from AHWU

  • one of the best songs ever 80s of course............

  • 24 people prefer Justin Bieber

  • @DamianEatsNails Make that 26

  • @DamianEatsNails 24 idiots and counting......

  • @DamianEatsNails 24 idiots and counting......

  • @DamianEatsNails Is that really the best thing you can write?

  • @gazz12345a umm... that comment was from 4 months ago... it was written quick and was forgotten about just as quickly. Douchebag. Don't put irrelivant messages in my inbox... fag.

  • @DamianEatsNails - Actually... I prefer to call him Justin Beaver. For obvious reasons.

  • Timeless stuff!

  • Spot on

  • Simon Lebon, still looks amazingly cool!! the guys doesn't seem to age!!

  • Lindo demais! *-* Cresci ouvindo isso, e minha paixão pelo rock n' roll tem grande influencia deles! THANK YOU ! Love love love! Bela homenagem ao RIO!

  • That black chic is hot! They should show more of her.

  • o simon contando em portugues :D

  • i feel they are still too underated, they are some of the most talented musicans ive seen in a long time

  • um dois tres quatro! muito bom!

  • great song my fav by duran duran

  • fantastic!!!

  • The musicianship of this song is what sold me on Duran Duran back in South Los Angeles. I had the honor of meeting bassist John Taylor in person in Hollywood. My fav tune by DD isthe rarity " Secret Oktober " ( Original ).

  • @RSTAR2009 I LOVE Secret Oktober!! B-side of Union of the Snake! I used to always play it on those diner tableside jukebox machines ppl would be like, "WTF is that?" Great times. :)

PS - That's only my 2nd favorite deep cut..."Khanada" takes 1st place. 1st album - on a Japanese import single - b-side of Planet Earth. You should check it out. ;)

  • really one of the best songs ever written. the synth action transforms it

  • I wish they mixed the guitar back a little bit, the kick ass bass line makes this song and I can't hear it!

  • my favorite band and my favorite hit ...

the world would SUCK BIG time without them!!!!

and of course John Taylor's bass which is the heart and soul !!

  • What is this song name?

  • @ogadder RiO!!! OnE Of ThE ToP Of ThE PoP's In The 80's

  • @PeaceVendetta Thanks!! =D

  • Comment removed

  • I just don't get what the fuck they see in Dom ...

  • A good bass line makes the difference

  • John Taylor on Bass - AMAZING!!! :D

  • Great motivation song, I'm still lookin for Rio..............LOL Thanks Duran

  • To quote southpark "Kick Ass man"

  • @fedmans No, he says "Um... Dois... Três... Quatro...". Is portuguese, not spanish.

  • THE BEST !!!!! HAHAHAHA

  • 3:00 his eyebrows sing to me...

  • The singer speaks brazilian portuguese? "Um, dois, três, quatro!"

  • @caiovarela not brasilian, but portuguese from portugal, without accent

  • @JSimoesU2 Como assim sem acento? Hahaha.

  • Simon, Roger, Andy, Nick, John - beauty, great music!

  • The Best!

  • Of all the 80s bands, Duran Duran has aged the best -- both in sound and appearance.

  • There is a conspiracy going on around Youtube with about 20-30 people disliking all videos they find...that's the only explanation I can think of about the 20-40 dislikes in many videos I've seen.

  • Uhhhhhh my god. They're amazing. My only qualm - John's bass gets drowned out by the sax, which is a same because it's such an amazing riff. But at least he was looking adorable....

  • so trashy camp! I love it

  • I miss Andy. This dude sucks big time. :(

  • Well everyone who loves Duran loves Andy, so do I. But to be honest, Warren Is the best guitarist Duran Duran ever had. I keep dreaming of his return!!

  • I miss Andy. This dude sucks big time. :(

  • @MissBelinda3675 Totally agree. Lacking Andy's edge.

  • Very super WOW

  • Opa, foi português ou espanhol esse "1,2,3,4?" ;-D

  • @Deliaboard Não tenho a certeza mas acho que foi em PT XP

  • Play that fucking bass, John!

  • The comment I made about a better guitar player may be a bit harsh, can I add that maybe the guitar player needs a better sound for the begging parts.. too much effects just use the amp without crappy effects get that raw amp sound going man!

  • Think they need a better guitar player! Sorry!

  • @delandreese I totally agree! This guy sux. They need Andy back.

  • just for those of you who don't know they have an album due out end of 2010

  • Awesome! Re-done... Better!

  • I wanna be the camera man

  • any one have the SNL videos form the 80's they played girls on film & hungry like the wolf andy played the guitar parts from the album not some live made up bull shit .

  • Perfect!

  • So whats hot now a days lol Justin Bieber...WOW.. he's going to be around forever.

  • awesome! simon couldn't sound better here!

  • a perfect song

  • i only just heard this song for the first time as a dubstep remix and love it! the guitars and vocals really do it for me. makes me wish i had a peice of the 80's too man.

  • only blonde cottonhead Simon Le Bon ._.

  • Prilofx .......hahahahahahahaaaaa good one.

  • They are rockin' it harder than the orininal here, NICE! The sax solo was better in the first though. <3 JT forever!

  • like the original one....

  • man these guys still sound great. top of the line muscianship also.

  • Muy bueno

  • i thank coz i lived in 80s thats why im enjoying the real music okey di ba jocelyn verano

  • Give some props to the bassist for this song...such a catchy line

  • Does Simon ever age?

  • her name is rio and she dances on the sandd

  • Possibly the best modern/new wave/ pop song ever written.

  • man these guys still sound good,i remember when this came out in the '80 i went bought this cassette and i literally wore this song out, this song still sound cool after some 27 years. and it's amazing how these guys still look and sound great. peace out.
