  • Not every purist's cup of tea, I gather, but this concept works pretty well in the reggae-zydeco mode she picks out here.

  • Cyndi the Brazil love you !!!

  • @TheRcm1987 that's true!

  • willie nelson did this and lousi armstrong did it better

  • In love with Cyndi's voice! She can sing anything :)

  • merci , j'adore la version de de cindy pour cette chanson

  • There is no compaison to Madonna,,,,this rover HAS crossed over,,,

  • she is still smoking hot after all these years.

  • ive never heard this version before .......its really good ......greg australia

  • very nice, te amo cindy

  • few days ago, i watch to a show of cyndi by the tv, and she tells the history of this music:

"when my sister and I are young, and we are very sad,(my mom aren't in home)we put this music to play, and we start to dance on the furniture"

i think this music comes with the album "The body acoustic"

  • @neocrazywarriors THIS TRACK IS ON THE ALBUM "AT LAST"

  • This is nice . I've always thought Cyndi was fun. (No pun intended.) When did she do this song?

  • Cyndi, the best forever ... madonna is fake!!!

  • billie holidays version is better

  • Cyndi is very creative!!

  • Love Cyndi!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • great jazz cover

  • . . .isn't this in a 'Rock Steady'/Jamaican kinda groove !?!

  • I love her version of this song!

  • wow this is superb, even from a standard jazz point of view, she respects enough to keep the rendition in touch with the original, and does so much with it! Never knew she could do this!

  • Thumbs down on this new ratings system. It puts mediocre comments on the top which get a thumbs up over and over simply because they are on the top. I want to know who was responsible for this; I want names, now!

  • Cyndi once said in person this is a happy song... and her interpretation of that song is more fast paced... and her live version is more "swing" and even faster than this one... Although I truly respect Dorsey and Armstrong, I have to admit, that Cyndi Lauper has given the song the spirit of the story that the song is telling. Bravo.

  • Such a sexy and talented lady...I love Cyndi...always will xoxoxo Cyndi

  • Ted Lewis and his band recorded a very slow and "emotional" version in February 1930- it's worth listening to.

  • @fromthesidelines Yes, it is a great version.

  • This song is awsome! Personnally I like it better when dizzy plays it. but it's still awsome!

  • Love Cyndi Lauper, and this tune is no exception. She never disappoints.

  • yeah never dissapoints she rocks!

  • What a great talent !

  • Well I thought I had heard every version - not so sure about Cyndi's take...to answer question..."On the Sunny Side of the Street" (1930) is a song with music composed by Jimmy McHugh and lyrics by Dorothy Fields, which was introduced in the Broadway musical Lew Leslie's International Revue, starring Harry Richman and Gertrude Lawrence.

  • Great.

Can anyone tell what year was it released? 198x?

  • brilliant xD this is upbeat makes me happy!

  • I love this, and I love Cyndi!

  • So different from Louis Armstrong et al, but she's happy indeed!

  • Aint she something

  • sweet!

  • 1000% melhor q madonna ela mais canta do que dança. brilhante sensacional

  • I love it.....totally different from her 80's stuff...but I would buy it!

  • Brilliant!

  • Cool. She should do a whole album of old jazz songs. She knows how to be creative. I like her take on this one.

  • macht einfach freude und man hofft dort hinzukommen, zur sonnenseite, und weiß, man findet sie!

  • Didn't Frank Sinatra, idk how to spell his last name, sing this song?? Wow i'm confused ha ha. But Cyndi does do it better than Frank or whoever it was.

    Love ya Cyndi!!!!

  • It's an old standard, many singers did it (Sinatra, Bennet, etc). I like the song no matter who performs it, but she does bring a new flavor to it, and yeah, I like it. =)

  • This song has been being preformed by epic artists ever since the 30's. :) I like the Jive Aces version the best, but they really all are great. :)

  • but who was the original singer?

  • @euan112358 The BIGGEST Hit Version was 1945 by The Tommy Dorsey Orchestra with a vocal group called "The Sentmentalists" who were The Clarke Sisters. Their version is on YouTube also. The song was recorded by Sinatra, Frankie Laine and just about everybody during that era.

    >(She reminds me of my first wife)

  • She puts my mind in an electron cloud.

  • it sounds really nice seems like it should be in a big time Broadway musical

  • I fell in luv wit cyndi in 1985 and I'm still in luv wit ya cyndi!!

  • que chato!!!!!

    repetindo as mesmas fotos...

  • this is off her 'AT LAST' CD which is really up there in vocals. It aint no She Bop, its some serious talent. The woman is amazing in this album and if you can go see her LIVE youll have a grande ole time and be amazed on how every song she brings another feeling. She covers every emotion there is in human nature. I will always love and support her career. Thank U 4 piosting this so that others who think she is the girl who just wanted to have fun is actually alot more than that.

  • Louis Prima meets Jimmy Cliff... only Cyndi! "Gates-a-feller"? Gotta love her!

  • wow ... *.*

  • What a great arrangement...sounds like Reggae Jazz....leave it to Cyndi to be so original!

  • She's the fourth person to do a cover on this. :< Leave it to Cyndi to be so "Original".

  • Go for "At Last" for now. FANTASTIC album!

  • bravissima

  • adoro cindi

  • Cyndi Lauper and Madonna are PROS. I'd take either to the prom.

  • she is 54 now

  • madonna is no singer, she is entertainer - and boring as hell...

cyndi is absolutely great and beautiful, gifted singer - much better than she was in the 80th

  • beautiful woman with a Beautiful voice! What else could you ask for?

  • Next to Cyndi, Madonnas a lame joke. This woman can do it all. She can touch you and thats what true art is all about.

  • @macvoutie Ain't it the truth? When "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" came out, I figured she was this cute, quirky lil novelty singer, but then came "Time After Time," one of the most beautiful songs ever recorded. That's when everybody knew there was far more to her than met the eye.

  • hot!

  • cyndy una verdadera artista

  • never knew she s so good - wow... poor girl that she had to start in the 80s...

  • On this one, she's not Billie Holliday, but it ain't bad.

And she way more than makes up for it with all the stuff that is hers and hers alone.

    Another great American treasure.

  • Thanks! nice tune.

  • Still Beautiful after all these Years.

  • ***** SUPER COOL ******

  • She`s sooooo awsome!!!!

The true queen of the 80`s!!

  • not what I was expecting , but helped me gather the tune again. So awesome !
