As a Physicist, I am fairly certain that such an event will never occur to this planet. The distance from planet earth to the center of our galaxy is about 26,000 light years. Even if a gravitational path existed that made it possible for the solar system to travel there (there is not), it would take more than 37 million years to get there in our current speed.
