  • That was slow dawg a stock tacoma would do that in 6 seconds

  • YA TIRE SPIN

  • 55+ lbs of oil pressure?

you've got some thick oil son!

mine hardly gets above 50 ever. love the vid though

  • @jkans924 Looks to me more like 65, but that's only about 4.5 bar...not bad. Funny thing is, I was looking at some stock Ford 6.4 and 6.7 vids and they aren't any better. The Duramax is an awesome motor. Too bad the injectors are so problematic.

  • @GFVagent007 in the lb7's

  • is it weird to like Chevs but not GMC's?? O_O

  • I love diesel engines, I don't care if my truck is cummins, duramax, or powerstroke, I just want to be a diesel.

  • i have 4" turbo back w/ 5" tip, intake and efi ive tuning putting out 415 rwhp on my 2006 duramax. it will do 0-60 mph in 5.5 secs. i can smoke most regular cars and trucks out on the road. i would have more power but i need my stock 6 speed allison built up. 420 hp is around the max you wanna push through a stock allison. but i drove my truck stock for half a year and they are dam fast for a bone stock truck with lots of power.

  • Not bad, my S10 with a 4.3 will accelerate the same. Quick little truck. Cant floor it from a dead stop tho all itll do is spin, cool, but bad at the same time lol. The instrument cluster looks bout the same lol

  • hahha its still a shit chev!

  • @superdutykaiser why would u say that? with all the problems Powerstrokes have had! Duramax has been undeniably best all around light truck diesel since it came out and the reliability is right up with the cummin's and the powerstroke is no where close to that... so where do u get the bases for that comment?

  • wow...pretty slow

  • redlines at 3200rpm? wow.

  • @250honda. no it redlines between 4800-5000. the red your seeing is not a solid line, its dashes, its like a pre warning. in my lbz is my optimal shift point, where my turbo is at its maximum output and i getting the most power possible.

  • @JustinHansen6669 That is not the redline. That is the "you blew it up" line.

  • @250honda Yep diesels run low rpm. My Cummins is the same.

  • Got to love that 2nd gear chirp lol

  • it's actually just slipping on some metal plate in the road coming out of the toll booth.

  • @GFVagent007 atleast your honest

  • @alexwelter211 plus that was still first gear

  • i just got 6.1!!!! but thats with a chip

  • i took the tune off of mine a few weeks ago and tho it was alot slower it still impressed me how quick it was with stock tuning and a 4" exhaust

  • GMC= Gay Mans Chevy

  • you are just a pole smoker

  • Our company truck Big Red does HAUL ASS. Will do it pulling boats and gas trailers, show trailers. We got it chipped and she just keeps flying past most any traffic.

  • that truck is haulin ass!

  • Dang, that thing is a lot faster than I thought.

  • you would have accelerated faster if you would have done a boosted launch.

  • bp71717171 are you serious? a duramax is a lot harder to build any horse power on. cost more too. and is more likly to to have engine faliure than any cummins. and from stock to stock a cummins may not be quicker, but can and will out pull a dmax every time.

  • bull shit dodge is so shitty the dodge cummins break parts one after another dude

  • and no i can build hp on my duramax easy hell i spent $1500 on ma truck and it was on the dyno it made 590rwhp and 1100ftlbs and dodge is shit only the engine is pretty good

  • damn dude what all do you have done?

  • stock

  • efi live and a lift pump

  • take the cummins out of a dodge and its a shit box on 4 wheels. take the duramax out of a chevy and u still got an allison, nice interior and solid truck

  • It's true. I have a Cummins. It's a shame they put such an awesome engine in such a crap truck.

  • @tc0nk yeah really

  • @kkurt212 yeah totaly

  • Comment removed

  • Damn maybe u should do more research! none of the big 3 out perform the other by much and also your claim of Cummins out pulling d-max is wrong and if it was a god engine and yes its a good engine but no god if it was that good then every 1 would only buy a cummins, d-max has won 3 diesel power challenges and dodge 1, there has only been 4 of them don't know where u get your info ass hat flamer fan boy, but u need to have your facts strait before u flame.

  • damn that was slow as hell!!!

  • it would be so much faster with a tuner

  • for big trucks like these they will move when u need them too

theyll keep up with mustangs camaros and any other sports car almost on bottom end

  • Nah my dad has this same truck, its really slow.

  • bull shit tell him to stomp it or get a turbo charger man

  • I drove it, not him, its a 6.6l turbo charged silverado 2500 duramax. Its not fast. At all lol.

  • Define "fast", though... If fast is 0-60 in 5 sec., they, yeah...they're slow. It's pretty damn fast for a big truck, though...and the new one is even more powerful!

  • I mean ya. Its a diesel it weighs like 6000 lbs, but still. I mean you can do so much to diesels. Get a programmer and it will go 0-60 in about 6 seconds just from that.

  • believe me, I would...if it was actually my truck, but it's not.

  • wow a seirra like that will promis you power and much durability then ford rite now ford is crap down lo, and duramax ranks second after cummins a good amount of effort.

  • wow thats funny becasue in all of the latest deisel power competitions duramax has not only stomped the cummins, but even had better gas milage by about 15 mpg. It pulled for over 275b ft. while a dode 3500 barley reached 250. So you must just be a dodge fan that like a cheap truck and can fix it up cheap.

  • Well and no i think i would consider u to be rte as a fact tht i have not caught up with the new scores but i still trust gmc in its demand for power and lots of working compatabilities.the gmc is on my toplist for selection of promissing power. u really can trust them more then ford and sometimes even dodge i own a dodge so i only kno my end of it.

  • lol 15mpg more, thats because that duramax was running on compressed natural gas. Usually they run 70% CNG and 30% diesel so it would make it seem like you are getting crazy mpg on fuel. but you are just using more of the cng.

  • well natural gas or not, all trucks were required to fill up at the same gas station and run together in a group for the competition it was no race just a drive. All trucks used the same fuel, no matter what the fuel may have been, the duramax just out performed the competition no matter what is said.

  • Obviously you are going to get ridiculous milege on FUEL if you are running 70% CNG. But on 100% fuel durmaxes and cummins are pretty close mileage wise not no 15 mpg difference

  • ok well then explain how a duramax running the exact same fuel as a cummins doesn't have 15 mpg diff. When it was resulted in the last deisel power challenge, later brodcasted on the outdoors channel. Results dont lie my friend....

  • it got 15 mpg more because it was running on 70% CNG, and only 30% DIESEL FUEL. Does it make sense?? If i fill my diesel tank full 30 gallons, and i run 100% i fuel i will only get 600 miles to a tank if i get 20mpgs.

Now if i run 70% CNG, for every 3 gallon of diesel fuel burnt i burn 7 gallons of CNG. That means i will get close to 1000 miles until my fuel tank is empty, resulting in higher mileage. People can do the same setup to a cummins and get the same mileage.

  • so then does that not mean that every diesel truck is runnin same since i go fill up a the gas station theres not a deisel fuel that says for duramax truck only lol u stupid

  • Now that's a real truck. It's darn fast for a diesel, and that torque is insane. Then again, it's a GM, so of course it's to be expected!!

  • sweet vid dude, i didn't know those cars only rev'd up to 3k rpms

  • it's not a car, it's a truck and it's diesel

  • 3200 to be exact. 300 hp peak at 3000 rpms.

  • I test drove a new cummins 6.7 and a new 08 duramax and they both 0-60 in about 6 seconds but as far as torque the cummins was better than the duramax, but they were both impressive trucks no complains.

  • badass, the new 6.6's are even better 367 horses and 660 ft lb's torque @ 1600 rpms!!!!

  • Haha...you should see it WITHOUT the horse trailer. :P Just kidding.

  • The video is 15 sec, but it got to 60 in about 9 sec.

  • WHAT MODS???IF ANY!

  • None. It's totally stock.

  • 0 to 60 in 15 seconds, that's impresive
