@cainedkaty yea i had that on vhs and i got it on dvd now, but its not on there at all. it is on in the round, in your face, but id love to get ahold of the full concert.
To Michelle, Petro-Canada, and all our late night drives up to the countryside just north of Toronto. How I loved you and will forever. I should never had been so afraid of your/our love. xoxoxoxoxo
@MICKJAC08 regrets suck dude, I echo the same thoughts to my Petra, also just north of toronto, the one in my iife that I loved, and always will, xoxo good luck to ya
Vivian Campbell is SOOO UNDERUTILIZED IN DEF LEPPARD THAT ITS JUST SAD! Does anyone remember his mind blowing guitar solo in Rainbow in the Dark?!?!?
look kdr96 don't get me wrong vivian is a very talented guitarist but steve clark is one of my influences but i do think that vivian has copied of steve switching to the les paul cus when he joined def leppard he used tom anderson strat style guitar with the floyd rose tremolo but steve had that special thing that made def leppard music great thats why people think steve is better than viv
@04jhayes Actually Viv originally used a Les Paul at the start of his career but then switched to a superstrat when they became trendy and then switched back when they weren't.
I'm so sick of hearing all these comments about how Vivian is no Steve... get over it people. Steve Clark drank himself to death and is gone. They made an excellent hire in Vivian, he was one of the most respected guitarists in the world having played for Dio, Whitesnake, and others. He was hired into DL to do Steve's parts of the songs... and he MASTERFULLY DOES SO! He's a great singer, a world class guitar player, and DL has been very happy with him, why can't you be?
i've got no problem with vivian before i saw def leppard i used to insult him like hell but the only thing i hold against vivian is this in the mid 90's he switch from the tom anderson strat style guitar to the gibson les paul when def leppard had steve in the band he played les pauls most of the time but seeing viv playing the same model guitar to me that is copying what steve did
@04jhayes Steve recorded this song with a strat amongst other guitars, steve also played firebirds as well. I think the switch in guitar wasn't to ripoff clark, but to get more of that beefier tone out of his guitar. When he played strats mostly it was too close to the jacksons Phil plays. So switching to the beefier lp differentiated the guitars better. giving a fatter tone.
@kdr96 There is no doubt that Vivian is great but the memory of Steve will always live on. He had the look, the rock star attitude and all that. He just had so much charisma.
@kdr96 vivian sucks he changed how the band played. and steve didnt drink himself to death all the way he did drink alot but he died because he took 2 different perscription drugs at the same time then he passed out ito a coma and died that night it wasnt his fault.
@kdr96 thank you for standing up for him... and i agree, hes dead, what do you want. its not like they replaced him, he died, would you rather have no one. he his an amazing guitarist and a very under rated one at that.
@kdr96 I do believe the great Joe Elliott once said of Steve Clark in an interview that he was a sloppy player due to always having the guitar on the strap at 3 notches more than what it was supposed to be. Respect where it's due, Steve Clark was a big contributor and the way in which he played was unique and when added to the rest of the music it worked, but Vivian Campbell did a great job stepping into his shoes and I think they picked the right guitarist to live up to him.
i've heard quite a few live versions of hysteria but this one does really sound great but the only thing i don't like about it is steve clark wasn't in the band in 93 vivian campball is a good guitarist but i do think he copied steve cus in mid 90's he switch from the tom anderson guitar to the les paul if i replaced steve clark i wud different guitars in the songs
i have this concert on vhs tape. they fucking cut out my fave song. hulk smash producers.
