I'm planning to buy a Razer Black Widow "mechanical" keyboard so I'm just using that website for comparison purposes. I want to see if my speed increases and of course get acclimated on the new keyboard.

I would not call that speed insance like some have pointed out, although it's a good typing speed. With enough practice, anyone can reach 100 WPM. When I frst tried this site, I was at 78, then gradually moved up to 100 WPM. My personal best was 107 WPM. What keyboard I use makes a huge difference.
i really hate that test, because the sentences make no sense. if i put in typing test into google, a better test comes up, so I can get 120 words pet minute (while you're typing, it ssays how many you're doing in the corner) but then when I finish it always says 100wpm, which is the maximum, I think. You get to choose what text you want to do, and it's a lot easier to write out real sentences than random words!

I type 130 words per minute. Faster then my typing teacher did, after only 6 weeks of typing class in sixth grade. Fastest in my school. i can only get about 110 on the keyboard i am using right now though, it's not as comfortable for use as what i am used to typing on. i cant find a good typing test website. could someone give me the link to this site? oh, and that's quite a good speed.
My upper limit seems to be around 75-80wpm though realistically I can only type something like 20 or 30 due to the fact I have to take time to think of what I want to type.
@Touhou1990 This is reading type speed versus creative typing. The last one is always like 40-50% of the first one, because ideas need time to accomodate in the head. Nothing bad. I have like 35-40 when i am creating text. so this is normal

It's be much easier if it were a real story, I made some halts and mistakes because I extrapolated the next word :( only got 82 wpm :(

I think this is incredibly overrated and asinine. I wrote this comment at approximately 100 wpm and I do not care to make a video about to because, as stated before, it is asinine.
I don't think too many people give two craps about how quickly you type, especially when you're reading arbitrary words given to you as opposed to actually writing a document.
It's okay though, we all have to try to be cool at something. Why not try football?

I would not call that speed insance like some have pointed out, although it's a good typing speed. With enough practice, anyone can reach 100 WPM. When I frst tried this site, I was at 78, then gradually moved up to 100 WPM. My personal best was 107 WPM. What keyboard I use makes a huge difference.

i really hate that test, because the sentences make no sense. if i put in typing test into google, a better test comes up, so I can get 120 words pet minute (while you're typing, it ssays how many you're doing in the corner) but then when I finish it always says 100wpm, which is the maximum, I think. You get to choose what text you want to do, and it's a lot easier to write out real sentences than random words!

Well done man - so close to 100! I love this test it's so good. I've got 108 before.... Now looking for that elusive 110. I usually get between 95 and 100 but with mistakes!

no offense, but this is pretty average in this modern age.
For anyone who uses any sort of instant messaging program, which is pretty much every teenager in North America, their typing speeds are well above 100 wpm.

i have topped my speed at 108 like five times, but can't past this :-(

I type 130 words per minute. Faster then my typing teacher did, after only 6 weeks of typing class in sixth grade. Fastest in my school. i can only get about 110 on the keyboard i am using right now though, it's not as comfortable for use as what i am used to typing on. i cant find a good typing test website. could someone give me the link to this site? oh, and that's quite a good speed.

My upper limit seems to be around 75-80wpm though realistically I can only type something like 20 or 30 due to the fact I have to take time to think of what I want to type.

@Touhou1990 This is reading type speed versus creative typing. The last one is always like 40-50% of the first one, because ideas need time to accomodate in the head. Nothing bad. I have like 35-40 when i am creating text. so this is normal
