@227060 : They can hit things. Have you ever seen the tantive 4 boarding action. It was pretty much stormtroopers at their best. For most of episodes 4 and 5, I think the stormtroopers were on orders to let the heroes escape.

In a new hope they let luke and han escape with princess so that the tracking device on the falcon would revel the location of one of the rebel bases so that the Death Star can be used. In the empire strikes back they let leia, lando, chewie and the droids escape, so if they would go back for luke. The falcon hyperdrive was disabled, so that the exectour could caputure the falcon with a tractor beam.

@Tenacityful as i understand it basically most of the Stormtroopers are still clones...but not clones of Jango Fett. like the elite stormtroopers are old clone wars veterans but they got other...bounty hunters, warriors, some other guys to clone and make stormtroopers and they even let ppl enlist like a reala rmy. but these guys were just not as good aims as Jango or his clones

@227060 Yeah it was cooler, though I like the helmets of the Clones more also they have cooler voices. But that cant hit anything is true. As Clones they were killed droids left and right and as Storms couldnt even shoot an Ewok, the Ewoks would jump them lol.

I did like how the Clone helmets started out like Jango/Boba Fett's helmet and then became more liek a Stormtroopers that wa s a nice touch

@xekiest well yeah that was exactly the point when they were coming up with it in Ep.III - it was meant to be a fusion of the original Phase I clone trooper armour from Ep. II and the armour worn by the Stormtroopers in Ep. IV onwards. I mean if you think about the Empire tech in general, it bears A LOT of resemblances to the ships and equipment the Republic used.
