1. Both David and Roger made little 8-note phrases, but I'm fairly certain Roger's phrase was the one that was used, not David's as you have stated in the video. But for the life of me, I can't remember where I read/saw this... maybe the Classic Albums DSOTM episode... maybe Nick Mason's book? But that's beside the point.
2. It's close, but not exact. Though without a synth, it's pretty damn good!
First, Bill Ruppert (the musician) only records audio, he doesn't shoot video.
Second, we're actually trying to "tell a story" that follows what you're hearing the audio, and explain something about it. You can't really do that "in real time" with video.
Third, Bill is sharing detailed production notes over in the EHX forums -- much more detailed than could possibly be done in a video.
So, you can get a much deeper look at the recording process if you swing by the EHX site...
@unclenatenjosh -- I don't think you quite get it. The Effectology audio tracks come from a new EHX friend over in Chicago, Bill Ruppet. He creates amazing sounds, but he doesn't want to video himself -- not everybody does -- and, for some people, doing so can even interfere with the creative process.
Be sure to visit the corresponding thread over in the EHX Forums -- there's LOTS of detailed info there. And if you don't find what you're looking for, you can just ask!

@seemeel
Thanks...
The goal of this video was not to be "exact" but to show what is possible with guitar and effects.
It was to inspire people to experiment with their effects.

A few reasons!
First, Bill Ruppert (the musician) only records audio, he doesn't shoot video.
Second, we're actually trying to "tell a story" that follows what you're hearing the audio, and explain something about it. You can't really do that "in real time" with video.

Awesome! Thanks for responding, and so quickly!

No offense, but your reasons are kinda lame. Aren't you a big company trying to use videos to sell your products?
First, Hire someone to shoot the video for him.
Second, nothing is stopping you from telling your story with the same words over action instead of black.
Third, the video in addition to those notes is greater than those notes. :)
