  • Wow, this is one of the best travel videos I'd seen! Awesome job on the music and editing too, guys!!

BTW, I noticed a shot of some watercolour sketching going on at 1:36 ... I'm an avid travel sketcher myself, and would love to know where I could see more of those sketches!

  • you are fantastic!! much much like it!!!

  • amazing! can't wait to go there in November....

  • Best video! Gnarly, please, could you tell me which transaction have you used at 2:15? It's crazy! Thank you.

  • @giackyparklane Hey thanks so much....that transition was created by combining two shots that blew the screen out to absolute white....you can do it by filming directly into the sun, but then having an object flag for you. So you basically rock back and forth and play with the balance of being blocked by the sun and not....then its just a timing thing with the edit. Hope this helps.

  • Wow! The inspiration, memories and feelings are about to overflow and pour out my ears. Amazing video.

  • amazing! two questions though.. 1 what did you use to get that nice vignette at 1:06? and where is this music from? if you can answer that'd be awesome. Thank you!

  • This is so beautifully orchestrated and inspirational for my trip to Africa this winter. Nice one!

You know when you're walking at 01:16 are you using some kind of steadycam for that shot? If so, which one?

    Thank you in advance :)

  • Amazing, emotional, intimate... great job! excellent travel and excellent song... thanks!

  • AMAZING!

  • Amazing videos guys :) when you doing one in London ?

  • Did you go to Tonsai Beach? That is the most laid back place I have ever been to alongside with Lake Toba in Sumatra. Great video!

  • What a gorgeous video you made. Seriously, amazing editing and sound and.. gah! IT'S AWESOME.

  • aaa! amazing!

  • @biglank1 ummmmm not sure...I really think the secret is getting your exposure and white balance right when you shoot it....I just use standard picture profile, and crush the blacks a little in post....when the lighting is right, the colors pop much more...plus that place is pretty god dam colorful, so that helps a bunch too....thanks for watching.

  • beautiful work on all your posts.

  • Completely blown away and inspired by your work and travels. Thank you.

    Nice choice in music, too.

  • @jamessfromtx Thanks so much for watching...really appreciate it.

  • @1:39 elderly bong hit.. xD

  • Respond to this video...haha... yup....and the dude was 88 years old...amazing.

  • You look like Bradley Cooper and your girlfriend looks like Amy Smart hahaha

  • @tipc843 haha that's hilarious...i just googled who amy smart is, and I think you might be on to something....thanks for watching.

  • @Iridescooterbmx haha thanks for the heads up...and sorry to waste your time.

  • @Iridescooterbmx are you kidding me? you obviously do not appreciate earth and the beautiful things that are in it. fuck you.

  • im cambodian and this looks amazing. i needa get a 7D at the moment ima rock the Kodak Zi8 cuz its all i can afford at the moment. You are amazing with film. im starting a small independent film company soon and i hope it will be sucessful, your films are truly fantastic, keep it up man and keep trucking.

  • @TorniQuistStudios Hey thanks a lot brotha....I really appreciate it...and that's awesome you are starting up a company, I wish you the best of luck with that...please keep in touch and keep me posted with your success.

  • Man these videos are amazing! what lenses do you use? Also what do you use for support? Your shots are always very smooth and it seems like your always on the run.

  • @HonestlyWhyNot Thanks a million...for lenses, I always use primes.....and nothing for support, just try and shoot it steady, also, I used a bunch of slow motion, which helps a bunch....shoot it in 720/60p and then conform the footage to 23.98....its a fake overcrank, to give you slow mo....thanks again.

  • awesome!

  • Did you manage to get round to get some footage for a summer video?

  • @acearchie YUP....just uploaded...thanks.

  • Epic vids man keep them coming

  • Awesome. I love that video!

  • great video i see that you also went to railey... I have some friends there and i keep turning back to that place... cant wait... greetz

  • @rowena222 yeah that place was unreal....could have stayed there for a long time for sure....thanks for watching

  • I've gotta say man, your videos almost single handedly convinced me to get a 7D over other HD capable DSLRs. I've watched all of the seasonal videos dozens of times. Absolutely stunning work.

The wife and I took my 7D with us on our honeymoon this month, and made a little travelogue montage from the clips shot. I must admit, I stole your walking on the beach/camera on tripod/flip in post shot. It didn't come out as nice as yours. Hah. It's on my page.

    Keep up the great work.

  • @johnmcropper wow, that is absolutely amazing....thank you so much. Glad to see you trying out that technique too.

  • These videos are awesome! This is what i want my life to be like! I'm so jealous!

P.S. Xavier Rudd is amazing! Nice Sanuk's too, in the fall video. Haha!

  • @pantallideth99 haha thanks a lot

  • Amazing Video!!! Nice!!! i love your work. :)

Question... how many minutes of video space can a 7D hold? i know it depends on the Giga Bites.

Another Q. ... what's the biggest memory card that you could put in it?

im thinking of buying a 7D.. any tips on where i could find the cheapest but new?

  • Respond to this video... Hey how's it going?....a 16 gb card can hold 29 minutes...the largest card we have is a 32 which is just about an hour of footage...not sure if they make bigger than that...if they don't im sure they will soon. good luck with your purchase....and thanks so much for watching.

  • really great. I hope you upload a lot of videos

    good job!

  • @pleasexdie thanks so much...yeah more to come for sure...

  • what fps do you use when filming?

  • @thecampa 1080/24p or for slomo 720/60p conformed to 23.98

  • really really beautiful. I can't think of anything cooler than traveling the world and capturing it with so much vision and talent - the only thing that may top your travels are the videos you make of them. thanks for the season videos and I look forward to summer.

  • this is the first time (i think) that i comment on a video since i found out about youtube..you're an inspiration..can't wait for "summer" and "fall"

  • @daydreamer7777 Wow thanks so much....that means a lot to me....summer will come out as soon as I find some time....and fall is already up....that was the first one I did...its on our page if you wanna check it out...

    thanks again.

  • Subscribed. Beautiful, creative, and well edited. Good job matie

  • @TeTRoSeX awesome!...thanks so much.

  • Awesome, Superb quality, great music! (What's the instrument btw?)

  • @Diastro3D Thanks so much....if you're referring to the song, the instrument is a dijerie du...really cool sound...thanks again.

  • Amazing. The transition in 2:01-2:02 was awesome

    n_n

    Cant wait to see more!

  • @sweetsusy6 Hey thanks so much for commenting....I really appreciate it.

  • Wow! After some years of eager amateur photography I'm looking into getting the 7d now. Really looking forward to getting into the videomaking.

How long have you been doing working with video to make these impressive clips?

  • @bennis123 awesome, good luck with that...we've been making videos for a while...ever since 6th grade or so....so we've been doing it for a while....but these cameras are pretty new so we've only been working with them for about a year now...good luck and keep in touch.

  • Great work! I'm looking to get a 7d soon. Do you have any advice regarding codecs or editing in fcp? Thanks!

  • @schmedric cool...yeah apple pro resHQ seems to give us the best results as far as quality goes....except the files end up extremely large....for that reason, when I am traveling I use DVCproHD to edit....just to cut down on file size....this video was done with DVCpro and I think the quality is much weaker than it could have been...IMO...thanks.

  • brilliant!

like the music, the vibrant colors and this kind of documenting life!

  • @thisisthesecondme Thanks a million!

  • I think you have such great videos and i really love the winter one although i don't think the music matches the video as the video is set in Asia and the music is Aboriginal which is from Australia. Although i love the vids and keep up the good work.

  • @mrillusion69 haha that's great....i was wondering if anyone would pick up on that...yeah i agree with you, but it was more of a personal choice for me...the video is really more of memory piece for my girlfriend....and that trip we were listening to Xavier Rudd non stop, so when I hear anything from him, I think of Thailand....its more of an association thing for me....not to mention an insane beat...thanks for the feedback.

  • that was amazing! You really did all that with the 7D? Did you do much to the picture in terms of boosting the colours or whatever during editing?

  • @19markle19 yeah that was all 7d...and no not much....just basically crushed the blacks a little here and there....the place is pretty damn colorful so it didn't need much....thanks so much for watching.

  • im a big fan. just got the 7d. im truly inspired by your vision and it has affected the way i shoot and even just look at everyday things. thank you. and i just subscribed.

  • @giovanniluevano wow. that has got to be one of the coolest comments we have ever gotten...thanks so much for sharing that with us....have an awesome day and keep in touch.

  • This is awesome! Great job guys :D

  • @Elleziel Thanks so much!

  • Okay, once again, another great video. But what I really want to know is how does one afford to spend most of the season traveling through Southeast Asia? Trustfund? Oh, and, what do you think of using the internal audio? Does the AGC become a real problem? You obviously recorded the old woman with the internal audio. Sounds okay to my ear, but of course there wasn't much of it and perhaps you were covering some of the AGC noise with background audio of birds?

  • @particlelight

hahaha that's a great question...sorry no trust fund or family inheritence here...just some credit card debt and a willingness to travel on a budget...Thailand is very inexpensive and you can make your money go a long way if you play your cards right...internal mic is sweet...i was just on vacation so I wasn't about to carry around a boom pole and audio set up...so to be able to capture anything is completely amazing. thanks for checking it out.

  • Incredible, love your videos, you have a great, creative vision. How long did it take you to film all this stuff?

I've decided to subscribe to your page and look forward to seeing your new videos.

  • @AYFilms

hey thank you so much...we were cruising around for 6 weeks and the place is absolutely amazing, so there was ample time to capture some great images...thanks for subscribing.

  • Wow, this is a great piece of video. Very nice pace and tempo. I really enjoyed it.

  • Very beautiful gnarlybay! Big fan!

  • Very impressive! You've outdone yourself again! Looking forward to summer! Do you use any sort of rig or is it all handheld. I assume this was 7d? What lenses were you using? Cheers!

  • @acearchie Hey thanks a million...no rig for this one, just a tripod, the 7d, and primarily a 24mm lens.

  • Very nice!

  • nice!

  • I like the song so much I wish there was an mp3 version of it . Can't stop listening.

  • @filiwian Thanks a lot...the song is called Mana, by Xavier Rudd if you wanna keep listening...he's got a lot of good tunes.

  • nice edit and shots!! amazing locations :)

  • AMAZING.

  • Nice. Did you like Cambodia? how was the food?

  • @IntensePizza Yeah Cambodia was awesome...I didn't see much of the country, but what I did see, I liked...and the food was good, not as good as Thailand, but pretty sweet.

  • great work, i really liked the movie's photography.

  • big fan.

  • great work , this reminded me of the 1992 movie Baraka

  • I'm very jealous. You've been to beautifull places.

  • awesome hahahha
