well accually this is going to be amazing due to the fact that when lets say there a piece of clothing you want or a rare weapon you can just go and grab it and in most game this year you have to be like level 100 to get that weapon so there for its a good game for noobs alike to play

If the animations are inhuman and robot like, the game will feel clunky and dated...
@TheWowmaster98 if you're interested in classical, conventional (uninteresting and boring) gameplay but without bug game go for tor. if you want new fresh gameplay with interesting pvp storyline, awesome graphics and background go for the secret world :)

I will certainly play both of these games but I think they can both co-exist and be equally fun in different ways. This more as a sandbox type thing, tor as the more traditional, grindy(hopefully not) mmo. From what I can see, this will be what I play when I tire of the old. I hope there is healing tho. No healing=main reason Im not interested in gw2
@TheWowmaster98 age of conan has a bad reputation from what ive seen. go check it by yourself. the game has lot of default but lot of qualities too (combat, pvp dialog etc).
I think with the secret world they want to put the concept of no lvling (in aoc lvling is fast) and no grinding with interesting dialog and stories (in aoc theres a dialog system like in kotor for example) even deeper to create a really new kind of character progression.
i just hope we wont have to grind those "skills" :D
If I can, I'm unsure of how good the customization will be, I'm probably going to make some sort of iconic rapper as my character. Supposedly the rich and famous are part of that scene. Maybe I'll even make Biggie :P.

Guild Wars 2 will be out by then, there will be absolutely no point in buying this game when you already have Guild Wars 2.
If secret world had been released September 2011, then I would certainly buy it while waiting on GW2, as WoW is old, stale, and boring and there is nothing else to play. However this game will flop due to its short sightest release window. Release even close to GW2 = Fail.
@Everincon No Official release date, but their original estimates end at January of next year, so a Christmas release may still be possible. Although as you can't even pre-order it I'm going to guess Q1 of 2012.
From what I've heard this looks pretty good, but, and maybe I just haven't seen enough gameplay, but we haven't been given enough information about it to really understand how good this will be, just remember when WAR was coming out, remember how everyone was saying how it would kill WoW? I am so full of joy and worry at the moment. This, to me, is the best idea of a game I have ever heard of. They are actually doing the exact oposite of the most well known MMO out there, yes WoW (death of hybrid specs ect) that keeps narrowing down the freedom of choice.

THREE FACTIONS! Most can't possibly understand why that is so great - so I'll just say it again for those who did not play Dark Age of Camelot - 3 factions - woot! What I don't like is the Paul Barnett narrator - gave me some bad memories.

A new setting, more diverse class/quest-system, great freedom in play/appearence and the 7/7 active/passive there is actual _STRATEGY_ involved when building your spec(character-deck). Something I haven't seen since EQ1. This will mean the individual skills themselves will matter more and it is not just "run to train and get all new skills" when gaining a new level. Investigation quests in another exciting feature.
Just don't realise this too soon cause this game has massive potential.
What to do, what to do?.....GW2, TSW and SWTOR coming out around the same time it seems....guess I am glad TERA is looking to be a disappointment already.This game really looks awesome to me in any case.

@TheLegendaryGamer321 I can almost guarantee that this is something you pay for, both to get and with a monthly fee. I am aware of the freemium MMO's out there, but this is a work by Funcom, now funded (or owned) by EA. So the likelyhood of this being one of those is very slim to non existent.
this is an AWESOME idea. i've been following it for a long time , waiting. WOW was fun for awhile...but the BEST game for me was star wars galaxies. In that game you could be ANYTHING YOU WANTED !!! sure it had classess, but you could choose which skill from what class you wanted and only go that far in it ...then move on to others. or if u didnt like something...drop it ..get your points back...and work towards another skill in a different tree. Plus player built housing, cities , guilds .

@FreaXxShoW i understand that but being a level 40 pyro blah blah and having distributed 40 skill points makes it so you dont know what people have in their pocket, no epic tier 4 armor to showcase your l33t skillz. its definitely a different dynamic, sorta keeps the genie in the bottle.
I'm not usual the gamer type, and the most gaming i've ever done is nintendo ds with zelda and that's it. But this game sounds very interesting and different than the usual online rpg game. I can't wait for this game to release so that I can starting playing.
i love this game ^^ y can make 1 toon and choose 14, from over 500 skills, today you can be a tank and few days later a dmg dealer... that means y need no more twinks to test out a other class template.. just learn new skills create your own class and have fun. I realy like skill based games (like UO or classic version of SWG). Teamplay (jump in when other need help on the street) and this mission system is awesome in my eyes ! Something I haven't seen since EQ1. This will mean the individual skills themselves will matter more and it is not just "run to train and get all new skills" when gaining a new level. Investigation quests in another exciting feature.
Just don't realise this too soon cause this game has massive potential.

@TheLegendaryGamer321 I can almost guarantee that this is something you pay for, both to get and with a monthly fee. I am aware of the freemium MMO's out there, but this is a work by Funcom, now funded (or owned) by EA. So the likelyhood of this being one of those is very slim to non existent.

this is an AWESOME idea. i've been following it for a long time , waiting. WOW was fun for awhile...but the BEST game for me was star wars galaxies. In that game you could be ANYTHING YOU WANTED !!! sure it had classess, but you could choose which skill from what class you wanted and only go that far in it ...then move on to others. or if u didnt like something...drop it ..get your points back...and work towards another skill in a different tree. Plus player built housing, cities , guilds .

@thosedarndwarves There are actually levels, they just called it "Skill Points"... So pretty much like this: Your XP bar raises and raises, hits the edge and you get a skill point, but theres nothing showing your level...

@FreaXxShoW i understand that but being a level 40 pyro blah blah and having distributed 40 skill points makes it so you dont know what people have in their pocket, no epic tier 4 armor to showcase your l33t skillz. its definitely a different dynamic, sorta keeps the genie in the bottle.

I'm not usual the gamer type, and the most gaming i've ever done is nintendo ds with zelda and that's it. But this game sounds very interesting and different than the usual online rpg game. I can't wait for this game to release so that I can starting playing.

i love this game ^^ y can make 1 toon and choose 14, from over 500 skills, today you can be a tank and few days later a dmg dealer... that means y need no more twinks to test out a other class template.. just learn new skills create your own class and have fun. I realy like skill based games (like UO or classic version of SWG). Teamplay (jump in when other need help on the street) and this mission system is awesome in my eyes ! Good work FUNCOM ! i will fight for the Dragon's w your Game ? :P

Have you even played Wow? This is not a rip of at all, this is an fantastic upgrade.
In this game you have the option to choose how you wanna play, what you wanna play, whenever you want.
This is the future, this is a more irl/monster based game, not a cartoonic mmo with restrictions.
