  • 4 TO 2 Spells The End Shame Tho They Still Sounded Fantasic

  • There's a reason this bombed - the message within the song is ridiculously preachy, and by this point I think the public had honestly had enough of the Bennett sisters telling their fans to repent. Combined with a severe lack of promotion this spelled the end! Big shame to be honest as the album is actually pretty fantastic.

  • @benitohepton I agree. This song is vocally on point. The vid is top. The song is too religious for the UK charts - maybe OK for the US. I guess the Bennetts could not see it from that point of view because they were very religious. That combined with Kelle's negative comments, destined this to no 16. I think the record company should have insisted on releasing a standard style Eternal song first. E.g. If She Breaks Your Heart. People love Eternal now and want them back!

  • i love 90s rnb classic so pure and talented where da fock r u now

  • OMG ave not heard in many years. This is such a dot com song. LOVE :)

  • Memories.....

  • 90s video were so cool and different.

  • Cool music video directed by Dawn Shadforth, one of her earliest works.

  • i could not find the album here in Malaysia but I went to Amazon UK and got it for a bargain price...it is all good...i have all their albums...my fav group of all time

  • Remember loving this song its bout god

  • This song is good, though the lyrics make me feel paranoid.

  • wach chu waxiwonaxú ereworawon eris lukin fo yiu

  • is this song about God??/ i never ever knew !!! bought this on tape wen i waz about 9 lol

  • I loved this at the time, still do....... ridiculous they were dropped because this wasn’t a top hit!! So fickle this music business!

  • make a come back eternal!!!! please

  • Amazing song.

I'm buying the album when I get the chance. :)

  • @CGholy this whole album is really good.....i recommend it! :)

  • I really liked eternal! nh

  • UK wasnt ready for rnb when they first came out, thats why, they were so talented

  • Great song and video. Music was better at this point but I guess the image without Kelle wasn't there so...

  • A great video it's pitty it was the last one. Will they ever come togeher 4 a reunion?

  • Ahhhhhhhhhhh brilliant :)

The memories this song brings, the memories......

  • LOVE DIS SONG!

  • I loved Eternal as a duo - the style and music.. I think they were starting to put a lot more input into their material . The video is exciting/interesting. Love the flying at the camera. The end reminds of Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds! Dawn Shadforth made this video and she is an acclaimed director who went on to do Kylie's Can't Get You Out Of My Head, etc.

I love the harmonies and jerky rythms on this song - plus the message in the lyrics. Different to the usual stuff in the charts.

  • This last album was great...they were totally under-sold!

  • Chuffing love it! I wanted to BE them when I was growing up!!!

  • still love it

  • haaaa i love this songs! too many memories! thank you! old school tha best

  • From 4 member down to 2... Eternal was always great even this song as thier last was great. They coulda carried on well as a duo as this song proves but the harsh business that is the music industrie a few drops in sales & it bye,bye career musics so gimmicky these days this was talent. I love this tune & the video to it :) Long live Eternal in our memories of good music gone by & welcome to the crap of today lol

  • u so damn right!however rumors of an eventual reformation of the band are getting bigger and bigger...in 2006 there had a tentative to get the 4 members back unfortunately only Easther and Kelle were up to it!Louise keeps going on her solo career and miss Vernie were too busy with her daughter at this time

  • love this

  • Girls, where are you?

I'm still waiting for a nw songs.

  • Girl, I miss you ...

  • damn that was my song

  • This is actually a Gospel song. A lot of eternal's songs were ambiguous in that way. I really like how they sang. They didn't try to ram anything down anyone's throat or act all righteous.

  • they were good back in the day

  • yeahhhh fate was definitely cruel with the bennett sisters..it was unfair cause Easther is a damn good vocalist even though Vernie isn't that bad either,i loved her sensual and velvet voice..anyway,i got new Easther's material:shy guy (known by everyone i guess) wake up call (wonderful) first time ever i saw ur face and don't rush which means she's slowly but surely preparing something new guys, yeah u heard it a brand new jam,so let's cross fingers now

  • Where did you get her new stuff from? I have Shy Guy and First Time Ever I Saw Your Face... would love to hear some of her other stuff, she's got an AMAZING voice!

  • well i found them out visiting her myspace page months ago and i had love at the first sight...by chance,it turned out i could get them on emule..do u have the song "don't let go" available on the last album of theirs?and the spanish version of "free to live" which been

renamed "libra per vivir" something like that,so we can make a deal together?^^

  • I have all of their albums, but I don't know the song 'Don't Let Go', what album is this one on? But I do have the Spanish version of Free To Live..

I am trying to get my hands on their old stuff as well, as in the B sides to their early singles which I don't have anymore.

  • well..."Don't let go" is a song available on their very last album "Eternal" as japanese version.

grrrr very hard to find..if u get anything interesting for me,i have latest Easther's rare tracks such as "Wake up call" "Don't rush" etc

  • Don't Let Go is a bonus track on the Japanese version pf Eternal.

  • u know i'm try so hard to find this track on the web unfortunately there's no way to catch the japanese edition, have u got it?and if u have, will u share it with me?maybe we can deal sumthing together? ;)

  • @1977UK hi dude!do u have this song?if u do,would u share it with me?maybe i have eternal material i could send u as an exchange

  • Two members!!! That's messed up!!! They can still sing.

  • Man - Easther can SING! She's a stunning vocalist, I love her tone. Such a shame all the stuff that happened has totally tarnished her name in the industry as she deserves a solo career!

  • What happen with Easther?!

  • she's got a bad rep - apparentl hard work and not a nice person to be around so people don't want to work with her.

  • I love this video, i didn't catch on to the god theme till i'd heard it a couple times when they first brought it out, I'm glad they did this video as a duo, though i really liked it when they were with Kelle, this video wouldn't have worked with all three of them.

  • Im pround dat eternal were from da u.k they flew the flag for british urban music. But it seem's that the singers with the talent seem to be surpassed by shit like what we have today it's a shame...

  • Yeah, The US music secne is entirely dominated by this Hip-hop bullsiht we got out now, I wish people could go back to singing real music like this

  • come back eternal with all four of you i hope you can start a tour of the world we need you

  • wgd was eternal's lowest charting single in the uk...no 16 - still good though. 'eternal' album did not do well because only 1 single (wgd) was released. it was a new sound. just before christmas (busy time). kelle (with the support of eternal's ex-managers) was slating eternal in the press - lied about her departure to promote her solo record. played the victim making out easther and vernie bullied her, etc. i just wish easther got the chance of a solo career. love her voice.

  • No way do u remem that so do i! i brought the single it was on a cassette pink and grey with the on! The Eternal album was amazing i loved If She Breaks Your Heart, Missing You and the song He Is!

  • i remember it clearly. i was pretty pissed off with the criticism at the time.

easther defo deserves a solo career - such an amazing voice.

i think this album is great because it is a change in musical direction - a heavier rnb sound. would have been boring to just release another 'before the rain'.

i really like 'i cry real tears'. there is a cover of it down by 'beverly mahood' or 'lace'. check it out.

  • True! She would blow! I love her singing The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face and His Eye Is On The Sparrow. I dont understand why she wasnt givin a solo career they gave Kelle Bryan one and remem that song she brought out Higher Than Heaven I was 12 when that came I brought the single without hearing what it sounded like well its went straight the bin! All we can hope for is a reunion tour bow that would be amazin dnt ya agree!

  • dunno. maybe they thought easther would be typecast as eternal.

i think the allegations of bullying by kelle made easther and vernie too risky for record companies to invest in.

i don't actually think kelle has a good singing voice. her raps are ok and she is a great dancer, but i am not keen on her voice. way too high pitched.

  • I noticed that about Kelle's voice aswell, way high at certain points. I can't believe that Easther was reduced to doing backing vocals for a Girls Aaloud song, that is just sooo wrong.

  • limewire i just downloaded it woo go eternal

  • love this miss eternal too

  • i wondered y the dissappered so fast they dropped yeah thats true bout kylie i miis the 90's they all need to come back x

  • pls help does any1 no wer u can get dis song in mp3?

  • rapidshare

  • I loved this song!

its stange this was their last song - and they wrote this one!!! I did realise at the it was about God. The record co said there werent enough sales - so they dropped them!!. Bet they wouldnt be so quick to do that to their beloved Kylie!!! This industy makes me sick! Come back eternal we miss you!!

  • This song is gr8, dey r so much betr dan d girl groups thesedays. 90s music was da bomb!

  • I love this song...for eternal ;)

  • joder...

    GRACIAS YOUTUBE.

  • the harmonies and overall production is top notch. This would have done well in the states!

  • Which of them is Shane's wife?

  • esther, the lead singer. shes the one without a fringe

  • Easther the lead singer!

  • Erm don't think they are married anymore.

  • Pisses me off that Eternal get next to non recognition!!! Thwy were huge but if they talk about girl groups their name is no where to be seen, same alot of the time for Cleopatra!

    Love Eternal

  • It's a shame this was their last single release :( The Eternal album was chock full of cracking songs :( Your Love Makes Me Weak would have been huge IMO. Hope to see them back considering all the "talks" going on at the minute... MAKE IT SO.

  • 懐かしい!学生の頃よく聴いてました。

  • I couldn't agree more with Dingalingring views about how girls groups/female singers dress nowadays. Well, sex sells and it will continue to do so unfortunately. But great music lives on...forever! Eternal rules :)

  • Yes agree 100%

  • I liked how the Bennett sisters were/are devout Christians. They had some class and self-respect. Constant states of being semi-dressed detracts from the music. Only talent-free idiots do all that.

  • It's time for an Eternal reunion. Preferably with all four- just like the old days.

  • Good song. First half of the song is brill when they're spinning around than its rather silly when they're flying looks fake.

  • still love them..love all their songs. great singers and dancers.

  • love this song

  • Great song and video... pitty the weren't so christian when they forced the other two band members out of the group!

  • I just realised this song is about God never knew that back then when i wasn't a Christian. There are so many undercover songs about God (that is the God of the Bible) eq.Wookie- Battle.

  • thanks jaggedyjimbo

  • Fue rodada en España!!!!!!! Eternal Rules! Pero faltaba kelle, ya de su último disco, q solo participaron las hermanas Bennet

  • anyone knows the name of the album where this song is taken from?

  • It is taken from the album 'Eternal' it's actually quiet a good album! It's available on most websites for only a fiver! think i got mine from woolworths online!

  • dis is my tuuuunneee!!!

  • great vid... better with 3 tho...

  • oh wow - I loved this song; thsnks

  • Good song. It sounds like the Nightmare on Elm Street Freddy nursery rhyme tho

  • I wish it was all 4 of them, that was awsome.

  • To be honest, I think it wasn't a good idea releasing such a Christian themed song as the first from the album. I know they always had that influence on their other albums, but UK chart music isn't exactly filled with songs about God and given this was their first thing as a duo and there was that mess with the way Kelle left...

  • oh do tell how bad it was that they all 4 broke to 3 to 2. I just was hearing memebers leaving and leaving. As far as am concerned that white chic can go...but the rest 3 what happened?? Is there any re-union soon now that you say they resolved their diffrences.

  • I don't know all the details but there was public disagreement between the sisters and Kelle over it - something about how available Kelle was for the next album? I think it boiled down to Kelle feeling like she'd been sacked and the others saying that it was something they had to do to get on with the music. I don't know, I'm sure somebody else knows more. As for the reunion, I'd heard nothing about it

  • Thanx for the info ..cant believe they left their talents behind over petty stuff.

  • This song is actually very good. They do not have weedy vocals!

The video was directed by Dawn Shadforth who did Kylie's Can't Get You Out Of My Head.

The whole idea about the video is they're mimicking their situation. I.e. 2,3,4 band members, etc.

Also the "puppet" thing is because they axed their managers to actually take more control of their music, write more songs and have more creative input.

  • This was an awesome track and deserved higher than the #15/16 it got! Eternal were a talent, wether 2, 3 or 4 of them.

I'm just glad that they got that #1 hit single before they dissapeared into the black hole. I wish they could put their differences aside and do one last show...because absence had made the heart grow fonder and I think the industry has really missed this breath of fresh air that was Eternal.

  • It seems they did put their differences aside as they were due to do the arena tour (which has been cancelled), can't remember which of the Bennett sisters wasn't going to appear, but Kelle was.

  • Kelle left the band before this single/album/video came out.

  • why aint kelle in this video. how i miss them, come back Eternal, come back

  • i loved this video, the girls look great!
