These so-called old school judges are just what ICE is too. They like MCs people with personality that move a crowd and control it, as opposed to just being able to spit rehearsed rhymes on top of rhymes without breathing. That is what Raekwon is asking him. That is what KRS-ONE is saying about the new school old school stuff. ICE is an MC, using metaphors that require thought when you listen. Tez's punchlines are more obvious and frequent. He is a rapper. There is a difference between the two.

WOW 'Tez got robbed. Head Ice wasn't even addressing him much in this round or the first 2 rounds. Funny the judges didn't mention that.
And why didn't they check Ice for TALKING during Cortez's verse when he complained to the judges? Isn't that breaking the rules?
I'm really disappointed in those judges. Just shows that just because you've been rapping for years doesn't mean you have good judgement or character, because we know why they gave it to Ice.

Ice took some shots at him, but he just rapped. What got me upset was Reakwan's comments. He's talkin about Cortez to stay in his lane, but in all reality, you need to bring something unique when you battle or you just lose. Him, as well as the other judges (excluding Styles P and others) got offended when Cortez said that "Ice went to school with all the judges". I never thought about it like that until now.
This is my second time seeing this battle, it's 3 months later and now I understand.
Ice does stick to his flow. I like Cortez. That flow is respected on the street ... but all those different styles doesn't get you any credit when rap judges are there.
1 more thing.
Cortez's mouth was too close to the mic and it wasn't coming out clear.
Ice's mouth was away from the mic and it sounded cleaner.
