WHEW!!- Excellent Job! Hard song to play keeping time without getting distracted by other parts. Would have like to see/hear them include extended carry/sustain on last note. I've used fuzz on bass for this. sounds good.
I was listening to the King Crimson Band starting form the time when they have first came out. It pleases me beyond words that there is a band called: THE GREAT DECEIVERS who carry on the Great Work of Robert Fripp and others. They are doing a fantastic job with their tribute to a band I considered far better than that disco which infected the airwaves in the 1970;s. I liked Frank Zappa also, but I wanted to thank you for posting this video. It brings back so many good memories. Great Work!
@telemacherT2 His name is Eddie Jobson. HAHA. He actually just went to see The Great Deceivers play at Paladinos Club and hung out with them all night!
This part is being played correctly. The time signature is still the same. The pattern has been changed(using toms AND snare) to give it a fresh new feel. Bruford has "changed the pattern" of this part in many different live versions(never changing the time sig.). It's called improv/experimentation,
You go boys. I thought no one cared anymore. I am glad people are keeping King Crimson alive. Have always loved it but in the plain states there are not a lot of us out here that love this stuff. I hope people can get on and prove me wrong.
I am 51 and saw King Crimson in their heyday several times. This is the way its supposed to be done in my opinion. Great tribute. Thanks for playing this music with the spirit it was intended to be done.
The Great Deceivers are playing on Saturday, December 20th, 2008 @ SPACELAND in Los Angeles with their good friends Ninja Academy and one other band TBD. Do NOT miss that show!!!
Next Show: THIS FRIDAY March 2nd Brennan's Pub in Marina Del Rey, CA 10pm. FREE SHOW!!!!!

The only thing missing is some chick yelling " Who made your violin?"
MrChad6729 2 years ago
Some chick yelled, "who made your guitar" to the guitar player @ The Spaceland show on 12-20-08.
Elyodachido 2 years ago
i don't get it, is that a reference?

in one of the live versions of this song (real King Crimson recording) you can hear a woman yell "who made your violin" at David Cross.

Oh cool. does he answer?

hahahaha...NO.

@then00best
That would be: KING CRIMSON USA
Their bicentennial commemorative album, of course!

why can't any drummer figure out the pattern on 1:50?
apart from that, nice!

Yeah, this one's fun.
I liked Eddie Jobson's overdub on the USA album too. Always wished EJ had joined KC.

I think KC would be proud of you!
