I remember a documentary where Vengrenov talks about how he interprets this piece - a whole bunch of kids riding bikes through a busy market. Simply brilliant
@Amarynthine oh you were referring to sound... yeah I agreee.... but nothing's worse than an auditorium with sound absorbing material, like once, I played in that kind of all, I couldn't even hear the cellist properly and he's only 3 meters away
I give praise to excellent artists! Heifetz!, Kogan! Bjorling!
Oistrakh! And many more!
But media stunts like Vengerov I strongly dislike! He is no way near old time greats! In fact he is often weak in his play...Making faces to please the public.
a) The reason why he's making those faces is because he's deeply involved with the musicality of the piece, trying to interpret it like what the composer wanted it to sound like (what he's "supposed" to do)
b) if you say he's weak, back it up; i'd love to pummel your pathetic visions of why such an inspiring and talented musician can be "weak"
c) if you listen to him play ysaye, you'll be amazed
All-in-all youre the little "schoolboy" so f you and have a nice day
You're an idiot. You actually can say one thing about why you feel he's not good. As for the face making many musicians do it...You're there to listen to the music, not faces. They can some times be a but distract with some performers but I fail to see how that makes you a 'weak' player
I hope you're not a violinist, because if you can't even tell how great Vengerov is...
I don't think you should compare him to other violinists. When they get to this level of playing, there's not really much difference in their technical abilities. I love Vengerov's interpretation, and his facial expressions don't make him anything less than an incredible violinist.
You maxhansendk, please already shut up. Your only psychopatic obsession on youtube is to throw mud on Vengerov, Barenboim etc. Please seek some psychiatric treatment soon
@dasgomezkanal I will have to respectfully disagree. I personally prefer Oistrakh's tone and musicality to violinists such as Rabin and Heifetz (I am not saying that they are not good violinists) who tend to play pieces that display their incredible technique. Oh and don't be sorry you are allowed to have an opinion, I just disagree completely.
I usually really don't like Vengerov's playing but I like this. I think it's because he's just playing naturally instead of being really over the top and heavy like usual.
Hmmm. Best playing of this piece since Kreisler himself, and Francescatti. Great.

The energy and spontaneity in his playing is captivating. I didn't expect him to perform this well.

I'm not saying it's rude, I'm saying you shouldn't be complaining about the sights when you've come for--and the whole point of it is--the sound.

I feel bad for anyone who has to play outside....its horrendous
TheAzianInvazion 1 year ago
@TheAzianInvazion I played outside, wasn't that bad? why?? unless its in hot humid weather with gnats hovering over ur head which is unlikely lolool
Amarynthine 10 months ago
@Amarynthine The acoustics are much different than in a concert hall. The sound of the violin doesn't travel as far (towards the audience) outside.

More supermarket violin-playing= mediocre...
I am being kind. Listen to Michael Rabin or Heifetz or Friedman or any other "oldtimer"
Vengerov is then no more then an aspiring schoolboy;-)

No one plays Tambourin more accurately and vivaciously than Maxim Vengerov. His recording is literally perfect.
I also like Rabin's version, that's worth listening to also
